Imus in the Morning’ returning to radio
Popular and controversial radio host Don Imus will be back on southern Maine’s airwaves beginning Jan. 21.
The “Imus in the Morning” program will air weekdays on WBAE (1490 AM) and WVAE (1400 AM) from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., the stations announced Thursday. The stations are known collectively as “The Bay”
Cary Pahigian, president of the Portland Radio Group, said putting Imus back on the air is a response to the “many fans in southern Maine who requested his return.”

yeah baby, it’s great to check the site and see a post from ChannelXRFR…
Good news for Portland.
Hey Keith,
You were asking about the blog roll, how about Chickaboomer. Marty Davis has been wonderful. I don’t know about ICN insidecablenews, I like Spud but does Imus fall under that catagory anymore?
Yes and it really is great to have all the old friends here from the New England area here.
It is like old times. Thanks Keith. And Channel
Guys,
Weather in the city tomorrow supposed to be rain/thunderstorms. Trip postponed until Monday. I will definitely go. I’ll post pictures of the signs I’m going to make.

Just don’t get arrested fakeegan!!!!!
Dang, there are over 700 posts here!!!!! Most of these folks are fed up!!!!!

imustimes, thanX
This is a blog from Michelle Malkin Chris Matthews calling New Englanders lying bigots? She mentions Michael Graham and he was just on Imus.

Michael Graham WTKK Boston Talk, isn’t that the Talk Polution oh I mean Evolution
Harley, As Martin Garbus said “Words are not guity, people are”. This is Rev Al hijacking the english language for headlines. Golf Channel should have never suspended her. ChanX
That Golf Channel Story is such a worthless one it is another Sharpton Witch Hunt.
God help him
Sorry to say, that girl will be fired. The NY Times has offered their opinion.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/11/sports/golf/11sandomir.html?ref=sports
Sharpton wins again………….
According to BTV on IT this girl/woman is friends with Tiger Woods.
Since when did FAT AL SHARPTON follow Golf if Tiger Woods didn’t call him.
And how can WABC TV equate that situation with Don Imus. And we know WABC TV has no affiliation with WABC radio or Citadel Broadcasting.
I am afraid Harley, Sharpton needs more then an indictment for tax evasion.
How the hell would I get arrested? lol.
Lenny,
You won’t get arrested. That was a inference to the NBC jaunt I believe when they confiscated signs. You will be fine. Imus and the gang will love it. Might wake up the real Cardinal’s existance.
Now this NYT’s article is despicable. But you know how liberal they are. So it is another junk story that no one will pay attention to.
The I-Man talked about Newsmax today. But will not make comments about the NYT’s.
I don’t want to give everyone a history lesson but if you are interested in the practices of lynching in America, there were some folks some of color in SC., called regulators as I recall they met at a place called Lynch Creek. Famous Frontline Families was a PBS piece done on blurred racial families. This one is the Gibsons, Gideon Gibson was a leader of the South Carolina Regulators and they existed before the Rev War and they were the first to use the phrase Taxation without representation, long before the New Englanders. Oh and the Clintons are mentioned at the bottom of this article, you know alot of people say Bill Clinton was our first Black President.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/secret/famous/gibsonfamily.html
I am a family historian a genealogist, I read about specific history all the time. I descend from a Gibson Orpha (Gibson) Jones.
This is why I am familar with the story of the Lynch Law, because of the Gibsons involvement South Carolina Regulators. I can see how it has caused a scar on our national psyche. I will post this part about a theory of how the practice started then I promise not to bore anyone anymore with the historical context:)
There are two versions concerning the origin of lynch law. I wish to refer to prior to discussing the story which Cutler attributes the origin of lynch law. The first version believes the phrase lynch law originated at Lynch Creek in South Carolina. In South Carolina around 1768 there existed a group known as ‘Regulators’. The Regulators prime function was to maintain law and order. Lynch Creek was a common meeting place for this group from which they dispensed their summary justice. There was a need for such a group in rural communities where our court system had not established itself in our rapidly expanding young nation. The assertion is made that lynch law evolved from the meetings of these Regulators at Lynch Creek.
I must admit anytime any person especially a White person uses an African American person and the word lynch(Ed) in the same sentence it is a foul. A very bad foul.
So I am never going to defend that female sports announcer. But this is an internal problem not a Sharpton cause to get involved with.
And that is why it has come to the I-Nations attention.
What Imus said on April 4, and what this female sports announcer said are at the opposite ends of the spectrum.
Maybe she should have been immediately fired. But the suspension was going to happen without Sharpton getting involved.
And Ree I know your genealogy experience. Also the time it takes to do the research involved.
Thank you for educating me on many things now and in the past.
Repeated from previous thread.
Here is something from Todays Imus Show. It featured a truly funny Sports report by Warner Wolf. And the Number 1 Country hit sung by Taylor Swift.
But you didn’t here this on your radio.
Very intriguing, laree, about the Regulators. I majored in history as an undergrad and still find it fascinating. Thank you. I’ve heard it said that “frontier justice” may have been swift, but it wasn’t always just.
Good to see you Frec,
Bring the IT group over. Think they will find a much nicer attitude here thanks to Keith and Channel.
Personally happy you are here.
Oh, bcvb, just let people go where they want.
That Lupica article Imus mentioned all day really is great, Imus is right(not that I doubted): http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/01/10/2008-01-10_barack_obama_keeps_fighting.html
Sorry Keith,
Was inviting people over. Check with Channel.
Guess will remain quiet then.
I heard Stern was on Letterman last night running his mouth on the I-Man…I don’t have any details…anyone catch it?
It was pretty trashy. Caught a little.
Said Iman had always been racist.
Made remarks about billboards, airbrushed. Iman looks like
crocodile.
Stern was knocking regular radio. Was bragging about how he had jacked up Sirius ratings. Said Imus should have been fired based on his ratings.
Hey boys and girls. I’m going Monday. The weathe said rain/thundestorms when I checked at 2 AM last night, so I decided against it. I’m not too far outside the city, but I’d rather be dry, bejeez.

Frec,
I am so happy I have a kindred spirit. People should know that History is not being taught to our children like it was taught to us. American Children are not all being taught about something as culturally sensitive as the practice of Lynching in this country. The reappearence of the noose, we discussed this on Michelle Malkin’s blog alot, there are many contributing factors to the reappearence. Some of these incidents are from malevolent entities, some are from copy cats, and some are from ignorant people. I gave the example of the Movie this past summer, the movie started with a scene of mulitiple nooses. (Pirates -Worlds End) It was popular, think of all the kids et al, that went to that movie, now many of them don’t even know the historical significance of the noose in American history. With this movie last summer, the noose re entered the American Consiousness. The woman who made the comment, I think it was a mis step and again Tiger Woods, accepted her apology, that should be the end of it. I find it difficult to believe that everyone that makes an insensitive racial comment is a racist. There are those that are really racist and they use code words, there was an example PT, posted a link to Digital Journal – CNN plays the real race card.
Remember when Karith stated she knew that hell froze over, when Kevin Federline, got custody of the kids because he was the fit parent. The next thing that was going to happen Dennis Kucinich would be elected President and Miss Piggy would be VP.

Neal Boortz pulls no punches, brings this weeks outrage back to Rev Al’s ongoing Obama Envy…
IMUS GOES GOLFING
Nealz Nuze
If she keeps her job, The Golf Channel will have to pay Rev. Al off….. sad but true. Which brings me to this……I understand that The Golf Channel’s headquarters is located in Florida. Who is going to TAKE OFF WORK and FLY to Florida to picket the DAMN GOLF CHANNEL??????
My comment to the Golf Channels report via ESPN regarding this situation about Tiger Woods.
Everyone who puts this Statement in the same vein as Don Imus’ is truly off the mark. Don Imus made fun of every race creed and religion. He used parody and comedy. Yes his comment about innocent young women on the Rutgers basketball team were out of line, but not the same as this Sports announcer. And you are also forgetting that she is a friend of Tiger Woods. Now that you got that right. Al Sharpton should keep his butt in his Tax evasion location in New York. He is irrelevant. And is the worst racist of all. Wake Up People
All,
there was a hand count for New Hampshire and it showed some real interesting results so far is this really why Kucinich wanted a recount? What was going on up in New Hamphire.

More on the New Hampshire primary results. People are wondering…me too.

Keith,
WTKK keeps up a blog for Imus listeners in Boston too, here is the link if you want to put it in the blog roll. This is coming from the pipe’s imash, thanks ChannelXRFR.

Howard Stern Trashes Imus: “I Knew He Was A Racist Back Then”
Howard lost his audience and relevance when he went to satellite. Now the only thing he can do for attention is bash Imus. Obviously missing the spotlight…
Comments Click Here
ChanX: Thanks for the video link to ” Boner-nose” on Lettermans’ show last night. I haven’t set up a Huffpost account yet…maybe I should just so I can comment. Your comments on “Boner-nose” were right on. Never could listen to him, never could watch him. He’s garbage.
Laree: Thanks for the links to the New Hampshire vote analysis. ..and don’t EVEN get me started on those Diebold Systems…corrupt and easily manipulated. ChanX can probably tell all of us from a technical standpoint as to how they can be manipulated by “certain people” with “certain agendas”.
Laree: Thanks (and to ChanX IMASH) for the link to 969Talk Web and the clip of Imus and Col. Jack Jacobs. There is a link there to listen to the entire interview…and you can vote as to how you liked/disliked the topic. So far: vote is at 100% FOR. There is also a comment section, if you feel inclined.
And ONE (I promise!..LOL) last post for today:
If Imus is under duress (under the contractual agreement settlement with CBS)…and Leterman brings on Stern (knowing full well what to expect) and asks “Boner-Nose” ABOUT Imus…(and from what I have read…Letterman DID bring up Imus first)…is Imus allowed to make an on air reply…or take the high road, and just ignore it? Just asking.
Ignore it, don’t even take the baot. It’s insignificant. Like Howard.
Donald, Election fraud is not my area of expertise, thank God, other then to say it has been going on long before there were electronic ballots…
If you get a chance go over to PBS and check out Col Jacobs Official Medal of Honor Citation.

I’m thinking the Non-Disparagement clause likely covers the CBS Board and Senior Execs. Note: Imus has been getting on Katie’s case.
Stern has no small amount of jealousy regarding Imus, goes all the way back to the WNBC Radio days. Stern had ratings similar to Imus but from a revenue view point was generating much less due to the fact he could not get national advertisers.
Think you will find this funny.
Just heard on Hannity that Bill Clinton is going on Al Sharpton’s radio show to apologize to the African Americans regarding her using an African American accent in Thelma many moons ago.
Will have the audio when Hannity provides it.
Laree — Glad to see your comments on the NH Primary results. I found the BradBlog site the night of the primary when I Googled “how did Hillary steal the election” — I emailed it to FakeImus (yes, my ‘imaginary fake- friend’) that night because I couldn’t believe anyone was questioning it.
I don’t buy the media’s explanation — “if their lips are movin’, they’re lyin’”. If the results defy logic, then possibly there is chicanery involved — wasn’t that one of PorkChop’s favorite terms?
It seemed to me that the Hillary folks were as surprised as anybody by the results. Which leads me to think that possibly our friends at the GOP may have had operatives who wanted to stop the tidal wave Obama was riding because it would change the entire equation. They must protect the establishment, the war interests, — the good, old Military-Industrial-Political-Media Complex, marching along. And we buy whatever lame reasons they and the pollsters give us for the “wrong” polling, including exit polls — I don’t think so. Why don’t they get the guys who run the casinos to count the votes — if the numbers don’t match then somebody gets to take a dirtnap in the desert. Sorry to get the vapors on you, but I blame it, or credit it, all to Imus — question everything, boys and girls. After April, I don’t take anything at face value, and I’m not buying the “explanation” of how the polls were wrong. Something smells.
Donaldinks –
I saw Letterman last night. Stern brought Imus up. He said (paraphrasing) that he wanted to mention what’s going on in radio – that radio has completely dried up and died since he left regular radio. The subject might have been on the ‘to do list’ of Letterman’s prepared questions, but Stern absolutely brought it up himself — what a doofus. He is abhorent and ugly — Imus is the Man, and Cowboy Handsome.
Later from ChattaVegas.
Next on the ‘to do’ list — get a picture thingie.
Now AP has a photo of Bush getting ‘teary eyed’ at a service, saying the US should have bombed Auschwitz. Well why don’t we just bomb everybody and get it over with.
Poor Edmund Muskie came along too soon — who knew crying was going to become the thing to do.
We’re going to dinner and a movie — I’m on PC (political crap) overload.
Great Jack Jacobs appearance today. And isn’t Rob Bartlett better than ever? Great that he is on every day.
YOU’RE KIDDING, RIGHT?
Think you will find this funny.
Just heard on Hannity that Bill Clinton is going on Al Sharpton’s radio show to apologize to the African Americans regarding her using an African American accent in Thelma many moons ago.
Will have the audio when Hannity provides it.
WHAT DOES AL SHARPTON HAVE OVER THESE PEOPLE?????
HELP ME UNDERSTAND……………
Actually, I heard Bill is going to do damage control for calling Obama’s candidacy a “fairytale”. So is Obama going to win the Presidency on White Guilt? Are all the other candidates scared to attack him because of his skin color?
Hey, is it just me or is there one old guy in a duster that’s been outside the window many many times?
I swore the last post was the last for the evening..LOL…but THIS IS. Phyllis: Do you know who the # 1 candidate in this years election (erection) that has received the most contributions from the Pharmaceutical industry, and the Military contractors is? Take a WILD guess. It’s public knowledge and free to explore. My Wife didn’t believe it until I googled it and printed it out for her:
Hillary Clinton.
If you have a VLC player you can play this Pando File featuring Howard Stern on David Letterman last night.
Trying to convert it now to an uploadable YouTube video.

Dateline: January 11th 2007 Portland Maine – Portland Press Herald – Imus returns to Portland radio station WBAE on January 21st. Woohoo – What a great birthday present to me! So ironic – that Imus returns to Casco Bay on MY birthday. Happy birthday to me & welcome back to Portland Imus!
Yes Harley,
The funny part was that why is the Clintons going to Al Sharpton. Now we know they are desperate.
Got the audio, but it was very hard to decipher due to Volume problems on Hannity.
Remember: The Clintons are desperate people. And if it was anyone else they were pandering to, I wouldn’t even mention it.
Barack Obama has much more “True Life Experience” then Hillary.
This is my opinion.
Re: Jack Jacobs -a genuine war hero & a guy that ‘gets it’ & boy would I get into a foxhole with this veteran. I trust him.
Re: Lynching – I had heard it was named after an Irish father named Lynch who meted out the punishment of hanging to his own errant son.
stdomsgirl, Congratulations on Imus back in Maine and happy b-day, all in one nice package. Can you believe Pahigian saying the I-return is a response to fans? Your doing something right up there, keep it up. ChanX
GET A LOAD OF THIS!!!!!

SHARPTON AND SLICK WILLIE ARE GIVING IT TO OBAMA! THEY ARE IN CAHOOTS AND THIS PROVES IT! OBAMA BETTER WATCH HIS BACK!
NICE AVATAR STDOMSGIRL!!!!!
Clarification on Barack Obama vs Hillary. I want all to know that I am not voting for either if they are nominated.
I have no favorites at this time, since the field is like a Circus on both sides.
Just a sample…………….
“Wait a minute,” said Sharpton, who hasn’t yet endorsed a candidate. “Senator Obama said there was no difference in his position and President Bush’s?”
“In 2004,” Clinton responded affirmatively. “Look, there could be a perfectly good explanation for it [why he would say that]. Maybe he felt once it was done, he just wanted it to work, including the U.N. My point is it disproves the argument that everybody else was wrong and he was right.”
THEY ARE PRETTY SLICK—OLD FAT AL AND BUBBA!!!!!
Obama Envy…
Compare and Contrast: Barack Obama is currently leading Hillary Clinton in the total number of delagates he needs to win the Democrats’ presidential nomination. In contrast, Al Sharpton is reduced to shaking down a TV channel that’s located at number #605 in the ozone layer of your DirecTV dial, watched by about 150,000 viewers.
What Say You?
stdomsgirl, very elegant and stylish avatar, makes a wonderful statement. chanX
…and as I promised…LOL…the last was my LAST post of the evening…except for: Welcome Stdsomgirl! And I like your avatar also.
Nite all!
Gee Boys & Girls – thank-you all for the praise my avatar evoked! Love Yas!
BTW Harley: Love your avatar as well – I visited New Orleans one time back in the 70’s & you make me think of Mardi Gras – such good memories. Poor New Orleans today! Nobody has done much of a ‘heck of a job’ for NOLA lately. Makes me so sad.
Laree, you are right. We need to know our history or we are doomed to repeat it, and sometimes even then.
You are on-the-mark about the resurgence of “noose imagery” in pop culture. I only just saw the “Pirates” movie on video last weekend, so the haunting scene with the young boy being lifted up by the hangman is fresh in my mind. Another contributor was the execution by hanging of Saddam Hussein on December 30, 2006 and the replayed video of the noose being placed on his neck. I’m sure plenty of people searched diligently to locate the entire gruesome record, though I certainly did not; I saw enough and I got the concept.
It’s not new, though. As kids, we used to play that paper-and-pencil game called “Hangman.” But then, hanging was still the form of execution in my home state of Delaware. (Way more than you want to know alert: the last execution by hanging in the U.S. was Billy Bailey in Delaware on January 25, 1996. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Bailey)
I tried to upload an image for an avatar, but so far it’s not showing up here. I’ll wait a bit…I’m just a trained monkey on the computer, don’t really know what I’m doing. Yours does look great, though, Stdoms…
Stdoms,
Maybe if we had “Mayor Nagin” back on the air, we wouldn’t be forgettin’ so much??
Frec: Amen to your Nagin comment!
If this has been listed forgive me. A little take on Slick Willy and Sharp-tongue.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/01/11/bill-recants-obamas-cam_n_81174.html
frec, it takes a little time for the pic/avatar to show up…chanX
Thanks, ChanX. It could be the image was too large and I’ll have to try again. Since I believe firmly in the “everything happens for a reason” philosophy, it must have been a “wrong symbol” for me for some reason…
Bruce, you put up a new one…good choice…makes me think of Florida!
Did anyone catch Charles’s/Imus’s reactions to Imus saying Russert to be on next week?
Frec,
Thanks. Now you know my direct address. If you need your image downsized just write me and attach it.
Will correct the size and send it back. Up to you.
“Wait a minute,” said Sharpton, who hasn’t yet endorsed a candidate. “Senator Obama said there was no difference in his position and President Bush’s?”
THAT FAT B*STARD CAN REALLY CREATE A SOUND BITE. HE AND THE CLINTONS ARE IN CAHOOTS I SAY!
I had fun digging deep into this one..
feel free:

Donald,
Did you see they spelled her name wrong??!
Frec…yes….
Check out this interesting post on David Kirby (Author of “Evidence Of Harm”) and what he had to say about Imus when he was fired last April….and check out the comments:
http://autism.about.com/b/2007/04/15/david-kirby-speaks-out-on-imus-and-autism.htm
Frec,
Judy, brought it up last summer, when Jenna 6, was prominent in the news, Billy Holiday’s “strange fruit” The thing is the technology is moving faster then our culture. I think before, in a less swift moving moment in time, our children would be cued into why “the noose” as a symbol, has such historical significance for Americans. We take for granted sometimes, that the American Population is all on the same page with the same iconic imagery ect….today in school our kids are getting taught how to test effectively, ask Harley.
I never watch those clips they put up of what has happened like Saddam’s hanging, those terrible beheadings ect… My daughter has, and I warned her, these images will stay with you, your whole life, think before you view. I do watch coverage on CNN of fallen soliders, tributes to our troops our wounded veterans ect.. and those I make myself watch, even with tears streaming down my face, those people scarificed for me, and the least I can do is be a witness to their commitment and dedication to our Country “Some Gave All”. Otherwise I watch programs like “Imus in the Morning” because I like to be entertained.
Happy Birthday stdomsgirl
Phyliss, All, something stinks up in New Hampshire, I am down in Texas, and I can smell it clear down here:)
Bill and Hill insult black leaders in SC! It really stinks when you get caught up in your own PC word games!
BUBBA IN ‘TALE’ SPIN
Source New York Daily Newshttp://www.nypost.com/seven/01122008/news/nationalnews/bubba_in_tale_spin_463217.htm
donaldinks,
I was reading the comments to that last article. If a person makes an insensitive racial comment or any kind of insensitive comment, they get labeled. Who promotes labeling people? The MSM, after all it is easier to manage little words and soundbites. The MainStreamMedia is big, dumb and easily manipulated. Ask the Don’t Taze Me Bro kid, he is still in the MSM loop, he is iconic now. I wouldn’t have shaped the discussion in the MSM to be about race, last April but like Imus says, you don’t get a choice.
I don’t get how Senator Clinton gets a pass on so many issues, why isn’t she being called out on her hostility to the American Military. She wants to be known for her tenure as First Lady for her record. Senator Clinton was promoting Vaccines, and now Big Pharma is one of her contributors…hmmm, imagine. Why doesn’t one of these talking heads, make a list and get her to go on the record. Has everyone forgotten the fallout when she agreed with Eliot Spitzer about giving illegal aliens drivers license in New York?
Motor Voter anyone? The MSM is lame and it appears to have a short attention span, not the American Public.
KOS wants to skew the Michigan Primary for Romney and Media Matters is attacking Chris Matthews for being anti Hillary. Chris Matthew’s stated on Morning Joe, that Media Matters was a Clinton org. The left is eating it’s own. If I was Chris Matthews, I wouldn’t be happy with what has been done to MSNBC either. Firing Imus put a hurt on MSNBC.
Laree: ~ My Birthday Greeting – why, thank you! Boy, am I getting ‘long in the tooth’ – if I HAD any teeth! I was born 44 days after Pearl Harbor – January 21st 1942. My Irish mother was only 17. My Acadian French father [who I never knew} was 22. Both died young. So my coming birthday is a gift. Thank-God. Most of all ~ Thank God ~ I have an Irish sense of humor. Imus’s schtick? I get it. Still tune in. But, unfortunately, the’winds have been taken out of his sails.’
Stodmsgirl,
I don’t think they are done yet, I think they will “re tool” and comeback stronger. We are in the middle of the primarys, and the Clinton orgs are still a concern.
I always got Bernard McGuirk’s sense of humor, anyone that has spent sometime in New York City knows that you have to be fast with the comebacks. Bernie always has a comeback. That he is devoted to Imus is obvious.
I do worry about Imus’s health, Richard Cohen’s book “Strong at the Broken Places” sure is universal issue for human beings everywhere. I think it was #15 on Amazon Friday, I wonder what number it is up to now?
I am of Irish descent too and my mother in law is Naturalized American of French Canadian descent. The French Canadians have a beautiful accent, melodic. The French accent is more through the nose. I spent my honeymoon in New Orleans, yes I think they could use some more attention it is still a mess.
Free Cardinal Egan, Free Cardinal Egan, Free Cardinal Egan.
Laree:
I just looked up Richard Cohens’ book “Strong At The Broken Places” at Amazon. It has it listed at #112 in Sales Rank.
STDOMSGIRL:
Happy Birthday! I hear you got the I-Man back as a birthday present!…LOL. Wishing you many, many more (Birthdays, not Imus’s…LOL)!
Weird about Cohen’s book…it isn’t even in the top 100 on the best/popular book rankings at Amazon…am I missing something here?
Laree: Free Egan. Amen ~ From Saint Dominic’s Parish – Gorham’s Corner comes the cry ~ to free Cardinal Egan ~ we miss hearing his Irish Brough. Bernie’s very funny Cardinal schtick ~ profane ‘dead-end kid’ ~ 5 Points ‘Gangs of New York’ streetwise point of view. Very witty, the Irish were/are. I often laughed, as I heard it, all my growing up years, from the Irishmen in my Parish, 1st & 2nd generation longshoremen or policemen.
Ok…on Richard Cohen’s book at Amazon:
Listed under the subheading subcategory “Biographies & Memoirs”…it is at # 15.
Overall in hardcover, not even in the top 100.
Donald,
Believe you can’t blame Imus on that one. Remember the Today show (His wife’s job) Meredith Viera , did a three day series about the book.
Imus did the best. But the Today show didn’t take it further.
Guess we had two days in the Sun with Cohen’s book.
STDOMSGRL,
Happy Birthday to you. And many more.
Thanks Donaldinks for the BD wish. I thinks it’s a riot that Imus returns to Portland on MY bd – Ya can’t make this stuff up! LOL Now if we can only lure Imus & the gang to come back to the Merrill Auditorium on Congress St. downtown Portland – where, Imus in the Morning once aired their show to Portland’s great delight! The Portland Press Herald did a good report on that show. Imus has a large fan base here. Portland has many literate & witty citizens. After all, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote of Portland as his ‘Dear old town by the sea’ in “My Lost Youth’. He writes of friendly people on the streets. Ordinary people, merchant, clergy, sailor or an entertainer performing in Maine ~ coming here from ‘away.’ Ah! I digress!
This is the KOS at it again, remember when KOS wanted their members to skew Imus polls – in the negative. Keith had a blog about it on Supportimus org. Newsweek has the founder of KOS, writing for them that’s right they mainstreamed KOS. O’Reilly calls the MSM corrupt and he has lots of supporting evidence.
http://michellemalkin.com/2008/01/11/kos-advocates-election-mischief-in-michigan/
Stdoms:
Like my daddy used to say, “You’re a poet and don’t know it.”
Frec: LOL
I’m new to posting but we need your votes KSRO 1350
Santa Rosa,CA radio station has a poll asking if you would listen to the IMUS program. The current vote is
92% saying they won’t listen. Please vote!!
Howard Stern, has to comment about Imus, to make it into the newscycle. That should be the headline. They are running the clip of Stern bad mouthing Imus on Letterman on CNN today. I was watching and thinking Howard Stern, has to mention his old feud with Imus to make himself relevant…too funny. But a big thanks to Howard Stern to keeping Imus in the newscycle. It really doesn’t matter what Stern says or calls Imus because everyone knows about the fued, and that Stern, will take any opportunity to get some press…it must be lonley out there in outerspace. Filed under all publicity is good publicity.
Here is the link to KSRO 1350 and the related Poll.
Currently 54 percent say No
and 37 percent say Yes.
Very few votes. We can push it over.

Seems people do not realize that even if we are not all in KSRO market that we should not vote in it.
Wherever anyone posts that is Pro Imus should take the Poll. I know that there are those on the West Coast that may not know about this new station.
Send the link http://www.ksro.com/
Seems I am the only one posting. But before I go to watch the Packers Play Seattle wanted to send the YT presentation regarding Howard Stern lying about Don Imus on David Lettermans Thursday night.
Here it is
Someone at Imustruth said it was dishonest to vote unless we
lived in the ksro broadcast area. So I voted anyway! Go I-fans! Besides, there are no restrictions posted, so there!
Thank you Linda. Key question is how do we know who is on the West Coast or East Coast? We don’t. That is why it is important.
Thank you and to everyone.
Spose I should not vote in the NY mkt. even tho’ I stream from there?
missed this info about Bob Gelb on the Watchdog:
http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/watchdog/blog/2007/11/a_wfan_original_joins_don_imus.html
Now I get it a bit more, and again am reminded of the failure to get them back on WFAN. (sigh) PT, still wonder if that was the guy we talked to outside WFAN?
Bruce —
I just voted in the KSRO poll — Imus is now up to 47% ‘will listen’, 8% ‘will try the show’, and 45% ‘don’t plan to’. My thinking is that when the poll is reported and so many plan to listen, it will encourage the others to give it a try.
Ree and Donaldinks –
The smell from New Hampshire’s primary has reached California. Bill Maher began his show last night (after the monologue where he fake-cried and discussed you-know-who) with his take on the results of New Hampshire. He doesn’t buy it either. It may have been discussed somewhere else, but Maher is the first person I’ve heard on ‘regular’ TV even mentioning it — the phrase voter fraud was even spoken. Maher had better be careful or he’ll be ‘Vince Foster-ed’. Mark Cuban and Catherine Crier agreed with Maher that something with the Diebold voting machines is hinky. Matt Taibbi (discovered by Imus as we all know) was the special guest and did a great job. The only problem he had was Tony Snow who wouldn’t shut up and never let Taibbi complete a sentence.
We just saw Hillary in Nevada on CNN doing an Oprah-like forum — while comforting a woman having trouble with home forclosure, Hillary almost teared up again. She had her New Hampshire authentic crying-voice perfected. I honestly thought she was going to cry again as she nodded and patted the woman on the shoulder as she assured her that she would do everything she could to save her house. She was one second away from biting her lower lip and telling her that she ‘feels her pain’. Maybe when she is on Timmeh tomorrow, she will have her realistic crying really perfected. If not, Bill and Al may have to pitch in and help her. I may throw up.
Stdomsgirl — May the wind be at your back and the Sun on your face, or something like that. I hope you have a Wonderfully Happy Birthday and many more. Sixty-three or four? You’re just a slip of a young girl, girlfriend.
Phyllis: Thank-you ever so much for your sweet kind sentiments.
I just hope I’m in Heaven {or at least purgatory} a half hour before the devil knows I’m dead!
I was at Barnes & Noble today and tried to get a copy of Richard Cohen’s Strong in the Broken Places. The young woman waiting on me took me to – two different locations in the store, new arrivals and the health section, there were no copys left. I mentioned that Imus in the Morning had been promoting it last week, she said, that very well might be the cause of them being out of stock. I guess I will try Borders tomorrow.
Laree —
I meant Laree instead of Ree in the earlier post. Sorry. Is there a Ree too, or where did I get that.
I ordered Richard Cohen’s book today on Amazon.com — I admire him and his wife Meredith. No self pity with either of them.
I will probably have to succumb and TiVo Meet The Press, or What We Now Call The Press in the morning to see if Russert makes Hillary cry. Do you think Imus has pictures of Fat Timmeh? That’s a scary image.
Gotta run — ET is on in the background showing Britney wearing a hot pink wig with her new paparazzi boyfriend, Adnab. Where is OUR Dr. Phil when we need him. Also, I’d love to hear Larry Kenney as Senator Kennedy endorsing either Hillary or Obama. Larry Kenney, where are you?
Later from ChattaVegas.
Back from the Romp of the Packers against Seattle. Great game.
Did I miss something?
The Poll from KSRO is reversed. Plus add the I will give it a try Imus leads. Good job all.
How do you feel about KSRO bringing Don Imus to the morning lineup?
I’ll tune in! 50% 108
I won’t listen. 43% 94
I’ll give it a try. 7% 16
total votes: 218
So Bruce, Do the Jags have a chance?
Frankly,
If Brady plays his great game. NO. But Brady for New England has been slightly fading.
I am not a Jacksonville fan nor a New England Fan. But tonight is the night that NE can die in their glory. And they will be the forgotten undefeated team.
But the better team win.
Great AVATAR MTNHERBAL.
Bruce, Who is your team?
Well I am going with Imus on the games this weekend.
My real team is the NY Giants. But my heart is with Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers.
But we are a couple steps away.
The greatest and most controversial Super Bowl would be. The New England Patriots against the Green Bay Packers.
So far tonight it is a See-Saw battle between Jacksonville and New England.
Watching hard! My real team is long gone; but a Manning would not be bad period
Imus got his ass handed to him by Howard Stern the other night on Letterman. It looks like Imus, Chuck and Bernie are STILL Howard’s punks.
Imus needs to learn to bow down to three people. Howard Stern, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton.
If he doesn’t do it soon, they will all three gang up on him, and humiliate him …again:)
Didn’t know that Meredith Vieira was married to Richard Cohen. The only thing I knew was that her husband had MS. Guess it didn’t bother Meredith that her husband was going on Imus’ show. Guess Al is the only one with his panties in a bunch about Imusgate.
Devin 79, get a life. Imus doesn’t have to bow down to anyone.
NOW THEY ARE JUMPING ON TIGER:

Harley: I like your style & moxie & passion. I like that you keep the drum beat going regarding the Anti-Christ figure of Al Sharpton. You Go Girl! Ditto your statement to Devin – Imus doesn’t have to bow down to anyone. He may wish to do so in future & will at the time that he chooses. Boy, he is so much like ME ~ Feisty Irish. I like his sly wit & his will to know the truth of a matter. I love that he has an inherent love of words – books. He loves to banter with authors & we listeners learn SO much without having to go downton to the Portland Public Library to take the book out. Imus has a WICKED sense of humor & we Portlanders like that something wicked.
Phyillis007,
I am Ree, that is my nickname for Laree. I am going to see if I can find a copy of Richard Cohen’s book at Borders. We have a couple of big bookstores, Barnes & Nobles sold out, I guess.
I really enjoy Larry Kenney’s Jack Nicholson imitation.
I love Fakin It, on Fake Imus, I think his day job is interferring with his blogging SMILE.
This link is to the article “The Race for the American Mind” I think it fits here because it is about talk radio, new media which is what this website is we all know the power of new media. This article also mentions “the fairness doctrine”. The backdoor to limiting free speech of our first amendment right is through “Hate Speech Legislation” every country that has passed Hate Speech Laws, has seen their free speech eroded.

I know there’s a great-looking new thread about Col. Jack already…it magically appeared while I was still working here…but to wrap-up the “Tiger” comments…Tiger has the right to follow his own feelings, and if he is not feeling “riled up” about comments that were made about himself, then why can’t that just be the end of it?
Harley, thanks for the link you put up…following it led me to this one which I thought both the blog and the comments were intriguing and mostly sensible…

Excellent links Ree, Stdomsgrl and Harley. One of the interesting articles was the nut from the Miami Herald discussing the Tigers reaction to the mess that Sharpton is involved with. I said before it a Golf Channel, Tiger Woods problem. Not an Al Sharpton media event.
Now onto Mr. Devin. J. Donald Imus does not bow down to anyone. At this point in his career he could care less about the Sharptons, the Clintons and the Sterns of this World.
And if you believed Howard Stern, Imus would have been fired a long time ago. It is time Mr. Devin to tell us what you really think. This is a Support site for Imus. Not a rip the I-Man and his program apart. There are other sites mentioned in the side bar that you can do that on. And you might even find a friend with the same opinion as yours. God help them.
Congratulations to the New England Patriots and StDomsGrl. Tom Brady and Company are hard to beat.
bcvb: We New Englanders modestly say {with tongue in cheek} Thank-You. We ARE wickedly lucky & have talented athletes – we are indeed a wicked hardy group.
Yes you folks are. And especially you. And you can use my real name. You know me. Glad you have found a second home here.
It is a refreshing place.
Re: Jack Jacobs, I respect his opinion. I got to know him by way of Imus in the Morning. He always seemed like a straight talking military man with a self-respecting attitude. He seemed to be a bit of a maverick when all of the Oval Office/Pentagon people were in lock-step about Iraq. Jack made clear a lot of the smoke-screen that was blown our way by the so-called war-criminals in the White House. We know that as a Viet vet he ‘walked the walk’ – therefore he will aways be a bona fide talker about the Military. Period.
