Imus brought up the Pacman discussion. Gregory quickly interrupted saying; Wait, wait, wait, don’t do this. Let me say it first.. From there Gregory took control of the discussion.
Gregory had no idea who Pacman Jones is, claiming he does not read the sports pages. Instinctively he knew Imus’ “What race is he” was not a blind question. Gregory pointed to use of facetiousness in comedy which helps you get to the next point. His opinion? All Imus was talking about is racial profiling.
Gregory also counseled, there are people out there who hold Imus responsible for past deeds. Point? There is a group who are not going to believe a white man is going to talk about racial profiling.
Dick Gregory’s conclusion- “There’s some serious stuff out here and I’m satisfied.. I would be the first one to call it out if I thought it wrong, cause I don’t have to play nobody.

Per your previous comment, There have been (3) already Hamilton Jordan, Tim Russert and now George Carlin.
I have been thinking about why they are working so hard to paint Imus as a “racist” the leftys need a “Boogey Man” to scare their minority factions with? What are they up to? Look you need us we are going to protect you from ???? There isn’t a big scary evil racist so they need to create one. They picked a really poor canidate, although Republican and White, he isn’t a Conservative. Anyone who has watched or listened to Imus for how many years now 40? anyway they know what Imus is about and none of this stuff they are trying to hang on him works. So how stupid are these folks trying to make him into their poster boy for their new “boogeyman” maybe they are just that ignorant, they don’t know anything about Imus, they don’t think anyone else does either, that is where they are really making a big mistake. Why Imus because he supports “Moderates” I think these people have been after him since he supported Senator Joseph Lieberman’s relection to the Senate. They want the Democrats to go to the far left “Idealogy” and they don’t want them to have any alternative choices…this is what will bring Obama down, he needs to move to the middle and these folks that are attacking people like Imus are going to hold him back. People see Obama now as the Democrat leader so he must condone these far left folks targeting people like Imus.

Still, I remember when the ‘rug was taken out from under me’ & Imus was Crucified. I was a lost soul from 6am – 9am on MSNBC last year. IITM was where I got Music – a ‘Blues Riff, a laugh, got informed about News of the day, books to be read and so much more. I miss getting Imus on my Cable TV locally. Imus & the gang must remember how warmly we Portlanders Maine greeted them on Congress Street Merrill Auditorium. We Portland peninsula people ‘get it.’ Still, we have become a small band posters – we have lost our MOJO.
Long ago, I learned never to take seriously or personally the railings and rantings of people in the throes (may I say “throws?”) of grief. The pangs and sufferings of loss must be borne and tolerated by those in the immediate vicinity, if for no other reason than human decency. If you have a sense of compassion yourself, you know it is only a temporary condition, and a human one at that. Your appropriate response is, see it, sympathize with it, and let it roll off you.
I think that there are plenty of lurkers that read both blogs.

I read those Ludacris lyrics on IT, Obama stated back in April 2007 he thought Imus should be fired because of the effect the satire would have on young girls he was thinking of his own daughters but he lets his little girls listen to Ludacris? Really is that what he is saying or is he worrried they will listen to Ludacris rap songs? Doesn’t Ludacris come with one of those Tipper Gore “Stickers” for lyrics? I think this is one for his website? I can’t imagine his little girls are listening to this particular rap music, some of that stuff is even dirtier then what you posted on IT.

As Obama and his wife, Michelle, strolled triumphantly into his victory party in Des Moines, Iowa, on Jan. 3, Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” was blaring. In it, Jay raps, “I got 99 problems, but a bitch ain’t one.”
Some listeners took it as a not-so-sly reference to Hillary.
“We didn’t know he used that,” a shocked Clinton spokesperson said.
Obama has no problem admitting he’s a rap fan.
“I tell you what, I can tell you the kinds of stuff I love dancing to . . . I’m sort of the generation of Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind and Fire,” he told CNN on the campaign trail. “But I’m sort of hip to the younger stuff. You know, like Beyoncé’s ‘Crazy in Love.’ That’s a good song to dance to. Eminem . . . although he curses sometimes.”
Clinton seems less committed to any musical style. She made a “Sopranos” spoof video last year to unveil her official campaign song, “You and I,” by Céline Dion. The lyrics go: “High above the mountains, far across the sea, I can hear your voice calling out to me.” The song later disappeared from her campaign, however.
But maybe Clinton could use a rap number of her own. Lil’ Kim’s hit, “Can’t [bleep] With Queen Bee,” would have been perfect to celebrate her win in New Hampshire. I would like to “like” Sen. Obama. I would like to be able to support him. But …I can’t …so far anyway. Very often, he sounds good on the surface. His generalizations on so many topics seem, at first glance, to be on the money.
Then the questions start. Inconsistencies are brought to the surface. Comments that, at first, may have seemed reasonable, become hypocritical.
That seems to be the Obama problem to date …more questions than answers. And then some of his answers “just don’t hold water”. It’s just “Ludacris” …don’t you think?

Indeed Pat Buchanan said something similar if Obama can pull together a substantive speech, directed at all Americans, a kind of I got your back, you don’t have to worry about me kind of speech, it would go along way to calming people’s nerves about Obama.
Meantime I think it is his campaign that needs fine tuning, this is the General Election now and they need to have his positions clearly spelled out. If it was me, I would say something like this “People say stuff I agree with, stuff I don’t agree with, stuff that makes me laugh, angry and sometimes sad, I do think about what I hear, I am a thoughtful kind of guy so depending on which day you catch me, I might have a slightly different nuance on what I just heard, like all people STILL when it comes to free speech “Every Typical American” needs to be able to express themselves and be heard by whoever is listening. They should also know alot of the time, I am listening…this is why I am different!” With John Mayers song playing in the back ground “Say what you have to Say” This is America He needs to champion Free Speech. Then Jon Stewart can go back to making fun of whoever he wants.
As far as the Obama’s daughters go, I believe he is a good parent, there needs to be boundries for children because honestly they need to know when they cross the line and when they are older they will thank you for it and then there is always the satisfaction they get when they do manage to cross the line, they get to feel their power, even if it gets them punished
I am a firm believer in letting kids be kids, they will be adults for the majority of their lives so “Don’t put Children in Adult Situations” that includes them being exposed to dirty lyrics on many different kinds of genre of music. I am in a constant tug of war with this very issue in my own house some people think it is funny to hear a elementary age child sing “My Humps, My Humps, My lovely Lady Lumps” sigh….Isn’t it wonderful, this is what you got before you know what it is for! (My Point if Obama didn’t want his daughters exposed to Imus’s Satire, why oh why would he want them exposed to Explicit Rap Music) There needs to be more consistency when they are releasing his Positions on different Issues. I am done Ranting, Rant Off.

Don’t sweat the ad revenue thing. I’ve worked with ad agency people most of my adult life. On the account side, they’re as anal and as timid a bunch as you’ll ever meet. One finger to the wind …One thumb up their collective butts. You, and everyone else, just keep watching and listening to Imus …the numbers will speak for themselves …and those “blue chip clients” will be back to play in Imus’s sandbox sooner than you think (just as soon as Mom says they can).

Maybe there is a reason for Barack Obama rising as fast and furious to where he is now…and it might well serve to give pause that sometimes deception and evil at it’s most egregiousness sometimes has to be counter-balanced by an opposing force.
If that is the case, an opposing force of that nature is not against the very founding principles of Democracy, nor against the very reasons for the foundation of our Nation. Now, more than ever, with what is happening to our Country’s infrastructure, monetary system, and basic decency towards our own brave and noble serving soldiers on the battlefield…the depletion of our basic ability to take care of our citizens when disasters strike here at home…
…comes the need to rise and challenge what has befallen our country in the short time frame of less than eight years.

Imus was indeed great today, and I have the feeling that the last attack on him this past week has given him a new and more bold outlook on what he wants to do with the show. I really believe that he has decided to do as he pleases and take on the miscreants that have nothing better to do than scrutinize every last word phrase and syllable uttered on the program.
GOOD FOR HIM, and I might add, it’s about time.

I had forgotten about the Bush factor – was thinking about George Orwell ‘1984′ – Orwell {pen name} was recently remembered in the last few days. Still WHO are THEY? Who ARE those at the top of the World Order? How many? 3? How did Obama get nearly to the top so fast?

With all due respect to those that live in Michigan, which includes Donald Inks. They don’t have much to write about in the upper areas of that State. The funny thing is the farther North you go in Michigan or across the U.P there are very few Black people.
I was going to reply to them. But whoever the writer was said it all in his first sentence, “It wasn’t worth the Ink to Print it”.
The Storm has passed so we go on. After this week Don and the Gang I suspect will be off for two weeks in a row. Unless they get Bernie to fill in. That would be great.
