McCain Returns To I-Fold!
Well here we go boys and girls!
It’s official, after 324 days John McCain returns to Imus In The Morning, tomorrow 10/22 around 7:30 EDT! With the exception of 1 or 2 drop-in calls since the I-Man’s return, I-Fav J-MAC has been conspicuously absent from the program. The anticipation has been building within the I-Nation. Preceded by weeks of speculation; as to when or even will J-MAC come on the show, and endless searching for an answer as to why he has not appeared on the program. Guess what,? It’s now crunch time and Senator McCain is ready to reignite his true base, the I-Nation.
Imus’ question this morning ~ “What should I ask McCain?”
Now it’s your turn…

This is a compilation of three things.

These posts shown just above the comment section of this Post offer a view on why McCain waited to the last moments of the campaign to go on Imus. These “possibly related posts” are a reminder of how the attack dogs went after not only Imus but everyone associated with the program, including McCain.

Question for McCain (and Imus especially):
What do you really think of Newsmax…and John LeBoutillier ?
Then quote from his great literary op-ed:
“Media Ignore John McCain’s Offenses”
Monday, November 19, 2007 7:59 AM
By: John LeBoutillier
The so-called mainstream media (MSM) has missed the boat on John McCain for 23 years.
While the Chris Mathews-Tim Russert-Imus crowd has slobbered all over McCain — mainly out of guilt over their own Vietnam War behavior — many others have known the real truth: the Arizona senator is a two-faced, sarcastic, mean-spirited, condescending hypocrite who has gotten away with numerous instances of terrible behavior because the MSM won’t take an objective look at him.
http://www.newsmax.com/john_leboutillier/john_mccain/2007/11/19/50610.html
Heck, get BOTH “Johns” on together with Imus and let it fly.
Imus’s own Vietnam War behavior? He enlisted in the Marines. He was playing the trumpet while he was in the Marines. What is ole Le booty lickier, saying, he played it badly?
One question I can guarantee Imus won’t ask McCain:
“Why did you pick a running mate like Sara Palin, and your reasons for doing so, considering that she is (if it could even be conceivably possible) dumber and as clueless as the current President?”
“two-faced, sarcastic, mean-spirited, condescending hypocrite” but he meant that the nice way.
When Imus interviews folks, he doesn’t lead them, he lets them, for the most part say their piece. He will interject from time to time. I think, although no one asked me, and it isn’t important what I think but this is my position. Imus doesn’t put words in their mouths, and he doesn’t lead them, he lets them have their say. He is pretty fair, and they like to be able to speak with out constant interruptions. If you compare his style to others, he doesn’t agitate the viewer, like Mathews and O’Reilly. Karith said once to Imus, I have never heard Jesse Jackson talk like that. Imus: That is because unlike Chris Mathews, I let him speak, it isn’t about Me.
I have been thinking about Dick Gregory, and my own Mom is going to be Eighty soon. She is demanding, and she has worn us down. We know that in the end, we are going to do it her way anyway so the best we can hope for is she doesn’t make the criteria or conditions, for our task impossible to complete. What Imus calls a long day. I love my Mom, people meet her, and think she is so sweet, sure she puts the whip up, when we have company GRIN my husband calls her Attila the Hun, in an affectionate, I am so happy, I don’t live with your mother kind of way. There is a point in people’s lives, when they are set in their ways. I am guessing this is true of Mr Gregory too. Although he doesn’t look like a long day, he looks no more then a long lunch hour, to me
Considering what Imus has stated and said of McCain and his campaign…I will be really surprised if Imus just doesn’t “roll over and play dead” for him.
How long has Bernie and Imus been dissed by McCain’s campaign “handlers”?
Imus will prove to be “real” Imus tomorrow…or otherwise.
I’m hoping for “real Imus”. But my hopes are not that high…
Joe Biden is dumber than Sarah Palin. If Biden knows that JOBS is not a three letter word, why did he say it.
He is worse than Palin. And has been wrong on everything he has done since becoming a Senator.
Ree… that was John “le bootlicker” talking about McCain…not Imus. Read the full article.
Here’s a surprise ~ Sarah Palin has been more accesible to the press over the past two weeks then Obama, Biden and McCain over the past month! She has spoken with the national traveling press, walking to the back of her plane and taking questions. She has also spoken to local press on the tarmac as she stepped off her plane as well as in a local ice cream shop.
Palin Breaking Out of Cocoon
Political Memo, New York Times Click|Here
So should we add Jesse Jackson, to that list of Imus enablers generated up top, he came on last March, on the anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., so did sister Louise Patterson, is she an Imus enabler? Little Richard who called Imus back, to donate his talent, to the Imus Ranch Record, is he an Imus Enabler? Is Dick Gregory an Imus enabler? Carl Jeffers, Debra Dickerson? The Rite Rev Jesse Jackson, decided since Imus apologized, then he would forgive him. Seems like the Christian thing to do.
I hear ya ChannelX.
I say, let her talk away…and give her all the exposure possible.

Joe Biden is a fun guy, the kids love him
I don’t know if he is fulfilling some kind of gaffe quota. I am not sure how the Senate Foreign Relations Committee works.
Donald Inks, the best thing that could happen for McCain tomorrow is for Imus to be Imus ,and McCain prepared with some humor thrown in, it wouldn’t be out of order, it is Imus in the Morning.
Obama needs to send Joe Biden to Imus in the Morning, if he can’t have a come to Jesus moment himself. Time to Cowboy up, and talk to God’s other son.
Hey, Ree… don’t yell at the messenger. I was adding another one to those posted within the original Blog Post:
* McCain The Imus Enabler
* The Enablers of Imus: A Study In Careerism
* McCain The Imus Enabler Max Blumenthal has a grea…
A question to McCain – have you gone back to your punk days and your punk ways? We know that you were nicknamed Punk by your peers in your younger days & smile about today when you recall. Why are Punk McCain & his Punkette Palin taking the low-road in this campaign for the power of the Oval Office. Well Duh! Shakespeare would love it, because the ‘groundling’ Palin personifies the word ‘Git.’ Not to worry – our Jester Imus will coax out of Mc. just what Imus wants to hear.
To persons who never bothered to listen to Imus everyone is enabler. For the most part these people listen to themselves in some sort of echo chamber lies repeated continuously makes anything possible.
Ben Stien has a great idea on how to deal with the credit swap crisis void the insurance contracts his logic is you can’t insure anything where there is no insurable interest!
Maybe Imus should ask McCain what he thinks of the “Stein Option”?
Sigh — why can’t people just post a link and let us decide if we want to read all that crap. Why clog up the forum?
Simply one guys opinion.
Donald, what if Palin really isn’t the freak the press has made her out to be? She was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Sarah did not go to an Ivy League School. She is a mom who worked her way up the old fashion way, one step at a time. People like her because in a lot of ways she is not to different from most people. It doesn’t hurt that the camera likes her either.
Now she is talking to the press and unlike “Joe the Blunderer” she is not providing a gaffe a minute (One three letter word for J-O-B-S!)>
stdomsgirl:
I am hopeful Imus will be what he was…and still should be. Ask the the hard questions and press him. If Imus “rolls over and plays dead”, if he capitulates to him as the show has done for the ilk of “John Le Bootlicker” (just for the sake of revenue)… I honestly will question what the “motive” is.
Imus is struggling to get “back on top” (read: glory days). If he doesn’t treat McCain to the standards he would have towards any other “guests” that have “dissed him” in the past…and ask the very hard questions about McCain and his campaign that he has relentlessly expressed during this campaign on the show (especially about McCain’s running mate pick)…
…I will be more inclined to think Imus has “sold out”. For what, I really don’t know…
…I truly am hopeful that Imus really wants to get back on the game, and (in the words of Kinky Friedman) be a “truth seeking missile” once again.
I hope he doesn’t let me down. Otherwise, I will be led to the conclusion that Imus hasn’t the capacity to make that “organ donation to Jim Cramer” from certain “freak physical endowments” he has claimed to posses.
I will believe he has none.
Donald Inks #15
It seems to be what Lou refers to as the drive by media. I’m not yelling at you, I guess I always expect that since everyone else has moved on these “critics” would have also. Who has been held up to the same standards, that they hold Imus up to? For example Rev Jeremiah Wright…..
Chanx:
In reference to your post #21…watch (if you can tell the difference between “gaffes”, and sheer insanity)… the link (post 13).
When people make “gaffes” they are not really stupid. I’ve made more than my share. When you claim (as Sara Palin has) that the responsibility of the Vice President is to control the Senate…that’s not a “gaffe”. That is someone who never read the Constitution of our Country.
That…is plain ignorance…and that person shouldn’t even be considered to be the next in line to POTUS.
Everyone, by now knows why McCain made his choice. He was going after the PUMA voters and the women voters.
The trouble was, he could have picked MANY experienced women to fill that position. He went for “eye candy”.
DonaldInks,
He wasn’t going after woman and PUMA he is going after the white blue collar vote that also voted for Hillary Clinton in the Primary the Reagan Democrats who can easily relate to Sarah Palin. The Vice President breaks a tie in the Senate.
Ree:
I pray every day the Republicans, once again, will raise the specter of “Rev Jeremiah Wright” (well, it is Halloween time).
Oh, God…PLEASE do it.
That will send McCain right into the pits. McCain’s campaign hasn’t got it yet…that crap doesn’t resonate. People are sick of it. It came out during the Democratic primary. How did it work for Hillary? Let them “re-learn” what Hillary already knows.
Ree:
“The Vice President breaks a tie in the Senate.”
I know that. You know that. Anyone who paid attention in High School civics class knows that.
Here’s a suggestion: E-Mail Sarah Palin and clue her to that fact. She apparently doesn’t know about it.
Obama ,Black Liberation Church, on rural Pennsylvania voters, They cling to their guns and bibles, and don’t like people that are different then them.
Sarah Palin, Pentecostal, standing over a dead moose she just shot- with her rifle.
If they pick up disgruntled PUMA vote, that is gravy, they are not McCain’s target. Ask Dave Mudcat Saunders. Obama has a problem with Rural Voters, Obama has a problem with the White Blue Collar Vote.
Tomorrow morning John McCain will be on RFD TV, who watches Rural Free Delivery TV?
Donald Inks,
Lets be fair, she was the head of the National Guard in Alaska, for all we know she told the Alaska State Senate, she was in control of the State Senate
Maybe she is going to D.C. and they are going to have to play by Alaska rules LOL. I am not really up on what those rules are? I am pretty sure it involves ski doos
Just for you Ree:
“Palin Claims The Vice President Is ‘In Charge Of The U.S. Senate’»
Yesterday, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) sat for an interview with KUSA, an NBC affiliate in Colorado. In response to a question sent to the network by a third grader at a local elementary school about what the Vice President does, Palin erroneously argued that the Vice President is “in charge of the United States Senate“:
Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”
PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … [T]hey’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom. ”
…for your entertainment, watch the video.

Ree:
“who watches Rural Free Delivery TV?”
I would be very interested in hard numbers, if anyone can find them, as to the actual percentage. Most, are probably (at that time of the morning) out in the fields…and tending to livestock.
Donald Inks
There are enough people watching RFD TV, for Patrick to bid on Imus in the Morning, for his Network, quite an investment $$$, to make it worth his while. Imus is on again in the afternoon on RFD TV HD. Patrick mentioned the number of emails he got, when he aired Imus’s ranch special. He also gets a lot of emails complaining about Imus in the Morning. I know I am not sending Patrick tedious emails complaining about Imus In the Morning. If I were to write Patrick, it would be about that mullet. Myself I record Imus on a DVR, I am guessing the rural folks have that capability too.
From a constitutional view point the the Vice President is the “President of the Senate” which if your explaining the role to a 3rd grader “control” is a reasonable explanation.
One question, are your loins properly girded?
Donald Inks
I bet McCain’s folks checked into how many rural folks watch RFD TV and Imus in the Morning.
We should ask Patrick, I know he loves to get email from viewers SMILE. You go first.
http://www.rfdtv.com/
Donald Inks,
You know I am playing around with you right? I know type is cold, I am having fun.
Imagine where Dan Qualye would be if potato was spelt with an e?
“Why don’t we all stand up for Chuck?”
You say potato I say tater
Donald, in answer to your question regarding RFDTV. We just got RFD added to our service a month ago or so. Verizon FIOS.
Anyhow, judging by an almost complete lack of advertising it would be hard to imagine that very many are watching. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve seen one advertisement during the IMUS time slot. What they do is rerun Imus interviews during commercial breaks or they do promos for other RFDTV programming.
The office of the Vice President is established under “Article I The Legislative Branch Section 3 The Senate” of the constitution. “The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.”
Under “Article II of the Executive Branch Section 1 The President” of the Consititution “the term of the Vice President to coincide with the President is established.”
From a Constitutional view point Sarah Palin’s response to the 3rd grader is more right then wrong. From a mom’s point of view, it was a very good answer.
How about that time President Roosevelt went on television and calmed everyone about the 1929 stock crash ~ that was a moment (wince).
This is back in Nov 2007, When Patrick picked up Imus in the Morning, he has a plan to add more carriage, he wants to add 20 million more over the next 2 years so he can “REACH” 50 million homes. I don’t know what Imus’s ratings are for RFD TV but he says all the time, they are large and better then when he was on MSNBC. My memory of MSNBC ratings, they were around 350,000.00
http://www.nypost.com/seven/11152007/business/fcc_may_play_huge_part_in_imus_tv_future_741135.htm
This is the Verizon contract press release, it mentions Neilsen rating up by 6X but I am no good at deciphering this information.
http://www.rfdtv.com/Press/Releases/HTML/Verizon_Agreement.asp
It’s a chicken and an egg sort of thing. Imus creates carriage which creates value either directly through advertising or increased ad revenue on other RFD programs or increased value in an acquisition.
For example FOX could acquire RFD and establish FOX AG (FAG).
Imus can’t have many RFDTV viewers. The almost complete lack of advertising is very telling. I mean there is nothing.
skiwolf
I think the best example is it is like PBS, here is the link to how it is funded. They sell a yearly magazine, I am sure you have seen the add. That is different then PBS, that has pledge drives during the year.
http://www.agrilogic.com/education/television.html
If RFD-TV is receiving revenue from carriage contracts then they are making money.
Thus whether a commercial as we usually see on Commercial TV is not there, is not important.
RFD-TV would have not invested millions of dollar in Imus if he is not creating revenue. It wouldn’t make sense.
All: How did the Imus/McC talk go today? What was the most pointed question our guy asked of McC? Gawd! I miss getting Imus & the gang on my Cable MSNBC each 6-9AM. Sheesh! Am still in mourning. I get most of my I-News from you kids – posters – old & young
. I’m still outraged –
April ‘07. BTW – does Bernie do the Cardinal anymore?
I thought Senator McCain sounded strong and focused. He also stedfastly stood up for his running mate, Sarah Palin, which I very much appreciated.
McCain came with his “A” game ready for everything Imus handed out. Most pointed question was really an observation of Guv Palin’s performance in the Gibson and Couric interviews. J-MAC responded that he thought she did fine and he understands the media gotcha game. McCain came out swinging at the Georgetown and New York cocktail set.
J-MAC got to me though when he talked about the wives of service men coming to his rallies since I know my share of military wives and understand their commitment to this country.
Talk about the cocktail set Imus dedicated “Raisin McCain” earlier in the show to Lobster Newberg, Mike Lupica and Pete Hamill
stdomsgirl
I will post the link to the podcast for you, when they put the McCain interview up today, you can listen online if you have a media player on your desktop. Or better yet maybe ChannelXRFR can add it up top to the post.
ChannelXRFR
John McCain brought up ACORN this morning. I didn’t know that ACORN incorporated in Louisiana, that explains a lot
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/10/22/acorn-wheres-the-rico-prosecution/
Regarding 3rd party registration, maybe it should just be illegal to pay people to do registration drives? Continue to allow 3rd parties to register just take away the incentive for corruption.
I agree with Imus. Listening to that interview was like being water boarded. McCain sure has his talking points down and he was going to say them no matter what.
Interesting how these pols become like trained Dogs when their handlers get in charge. They never come across like real people. If somebody says “sit” they sit.
Now before all the McCain/Palin nut jobs get your panties in a wad, please try to remember that I’m 100% for McCain. Like Imus though, I hope he doesn’t die.
Other guests today
David Lerner talking about the current market situation says he agrees with Warren Buffet “be fearful when people are greedy and greedy when are fearful. (Bet David is loving the start of today’s market, down 434 points and has since recovered down only 233 points.)
Imus asked him why the bail out is not working. David says it’s going to take time. Then he pointed out the real problem with debt securities has been “mark to market” accounting rules. The securities themselves are not toxic its the rules that make them toxic.
Alan Colmes Alan Colmes also appeared, probably to level out the McCain interview and quiet Lobster. Alan’s appearance sounded like something left over from last night’s Hannity & Colmes.
ChannelXRFR
I didn’t understand why Alan Colmes is against McCain/Palin running on the William Ayers connection. If like Alan Colmes stated, it isn’t working, you wouldn’t want them to stop doing it and try something that does work. That didn’t make any sense to me. It is like Donald Inks stated further up this thread, if bringing up the Rev Jeremiah Wright, isn’t helpful, Obama supporters, would want McCain/Palin to bring the Rev Jeremiah Wright backup. If Obama is so far ahead “Polls” and is the predicted winner, who cares what McCain & Palin are stating if it doesn’t work?
I don’t get Imus’ fear factor question. Why is he and the media in general so obsessed with that women’s question regarding fearing Obama?
Truth be told we should be concerned about Obama and his liberal views, political, professional and business relationships, his spending plans, his tax plans, his social plans….
Alan was criticizing McCain for going down the Ayers, Acorn path saying it didn’t work during the primary. I would point out that Hillary began winning when she hit Obama on these issues. Reason why the primary didn’t workout for Hillary was because Obama out organized her in the caucus states and the democrat’s rules for proportional allocation of delegates where states held votes.
J.B. White is so engaging. The conversation Imus has been having since he came back on air is ongoing. J.B., stated he was going to finish his beyond the veil series this weekend the 5th of 5 parts. I first started reading J.B., because of Imus’s firing but I kept reading J.B. White because he is a very good communicator. White guilt came up in this post.

Barney Frank calling for tax increases in the middle of a recession:
Tax hikes in the middle of a recession? It was pounded into me starting in grade school that this policy deepened the Great Depression. What’s wrong with Barney Frank?
BTW The bailout was promoted as a purchase of distressed assets with a profitable resale. As it is the Treasury has used part of the funds to buy preferred stock in the form of a loan to banks. You recover the money as it is paid back. What’s wrong with Barney Frank?
Hey X, you want to hear something funny about the Military? Ok well I’ll tell you anyhow.
So our son is trying to join the Army and get a contract for Armored or Rangers. Takes the physical and flunks. Why? A very small scar on his belly which was caused by surgery when he was Six Weeks old. Surgery was to cure a condition know as Pyloric Stenosis.
Anyhow, the Army Docs won’t take his word for it. They want medical records. After 18 years those records are long gone. So we track down his old Pediatrician who writes a letter verifying what it is. No good. The Army wants him to further state that no records exist. Took a month to resolve this.
This is a kid who basically aced the Military aptitude test. You’d think they’d be drooling.
Lets only hope the Barney Franks of the world cause a severe backlash in November of 2010. He should be the first to go.
Well X I hope the Military is run better than that. Does not give me great confidence.
The red tape is enough to make one crazy. If you can get past that.
I enjoy going to graduations and promotion ceremonies primarily because they provide the opportunity to see what’s going on and speak with the chain of command. My impression, there are an awful lot of impressive people in the military.
That’s the military Ski…

Barack’s college activities would has made him keenly aware of Bill Ayers to the point of admiration. In the work “Obama and Dohrn and Ayers”, by Zee Towner, Obama’s radical side comes out at Occidental College (1979-1981), a liberal arts college in Los Angeles. Given Barack’s noted participation in Tom Haden’s militant group SDS (Students for a Democratic Society), it’s incredible to think Barack would not meet up with Ayers given the opportunity.
