Craig Carton dressed in a Giants’ jersey and speedos after losing an on air bet with Boomer Esiason.
Imus cheap shots continuuue . This from some New York Daily News sports columnist who hasn’t caught on to the fact the FAN is in a pickle having lost Imus and Russo. By the way the narrow demographic Filip marginalizes here happens to be the one that buys books, autos and just about anything Imus is selling and breaking all time sales records at WABC. Would the FAN like to see a little bit of that green? You Betcha..
As for Boomer being “the most pleasant listens on talk radio” myself I can’t even listen to him on the CBS NFL program much less on the radio, You Know…
Rutgers Basketball Players missing Imus? at least people are still talking about the players and don’t forget Vivian Stringer had some strong book sales in 2008!
Anybody Miss Imus? The Daily Blahg
Filip Bondy, New York Daily News Blogs
Somewhere, on some radio station that has nothing to do with sports, Don Imus and his leering crew are surely droning on about stuff. His ratings are good enough among a very narrow demographic, though nothing to brag about.
And in the world of sports, where he is no longer part of the dialogue, he is not missed at all. The absence of racist wisecracks is always a good thing. In some ways, this could not have worked out better. Imus is still doing his thing, and his fans can find him if they wish. He can raise funds for his charity work. Meanwhile, WFAN is a better station without him. Boomer Esiason is one of the most pleasant listens on talk radio.Everybody wins. Except those Rutgers basketball players. Click|Here
David Hinckley a Daily News Columnist actually does know something about Television and Radio, this is what he has to say regarding the Iman…
Some old hands move into new jobs
David Hinckley, New York Daily News
On the air, Don Imus completed a triumphant first year as morning host at WABC – where he scored higher ratings than he had when he was fired by WFAN in 2007. WABC added “Imus News Hour,” 5-6 a.m., hosted by Charles McCord. Click|Here
Who are you going to believe, Filip the FANny Kissing sports columnist or the award winning Television/Radio critic journalist extraordinaire David Hinckley?
StDomsGirl,
The Iman is back!
Said he had Pnemonia. The family spent Christmas in NYC, they did not travel to the Ranch as originally planned. Doc did a thorough going over including a CAT Scan ruling out cancer.
Imus’ voice is better although not 100%. Thank God he’s not wearing that stocking cap, it’s back to the cowboy hat.
I have the entire 4 hours. He is getting better but not 100 Percent.
Thanks Channel for the new Post.
It’s like old times first this from the WFAN, and look what media matters is up to, getting Ann Coulter banned from NBC. Maybe Bernie should book her, she was booked months ago for her new book debut “Guilty” she was supposed to go on the Today Show….they canceled something about being critical of Obama, and this wasn’t the time, and their audience wouldn’t like it? Well whats left of their audience LMAO! The More things change, the More they stay the same.

The hat might grow on me, but first thot was Iman met scissorhands on the ride to work and got a hat trim…….

Pat Buchanan is slated for tomorrow. Hope Imus gets into the Illionois Senate thing with Pat…
The other story Pat Buchanan is covering regards whistle blower Sibel Edmonds. She is accusing the US Government of corruption at Washington’s highest levels—sale of nuclear secrets, shielding of terrorist suspects, illegal arms transfers, narcotics trafficking, money laundering, espionage etc..

Glurry be to Gawd! Jesus. Mary & Joseph! Our Jester is back on air! Still here. Incomparable wicked Imus still here.
Speaking of Ann Coulter, this is who Marty, really thinks appeals to the “Today” viewership

ChanX:
Thanks for the video link on Sibel Edmonds. A must watch…for all Americans.
…and while I’m on another subject….
…..
SCREW ANN COULTER.
She is an obnoxious idiot that represents what is WRONG with this country. You like Ann Coulter? Read the National Inquire or The Globe Magazines. THAT is where she belongs.
If there were a God in heaven…her mouth would still be wired shut…and have arthritis in her hands so severely she couldn’t blog, nor write anther asinine book.
JMO.
Jon Stewart & Colbert call her Coultergeist …………….as in a spooky ghostly creature………….not human. lol
So Ann Coulter should be censored? Is that what you are telling me? If you don’t agree with someone, they are not allowed to have a Voice? I can name many on the Left, I don’t like to read or listen or watch but I don’t want them not to be able to FREELY EXPRESS THEMSELVES.
Have to agree with Donald on this one. Ann Coulter is neither left, middle or right. She is simply a vile, psychotic nut job who has no business on any show at any time.
IMO, of course.
I remember people saying similar things about Imus, when he was fired.
stdomsgirl,
Here is a video of Stephen Colbert having fun with I Fav Allan Colmes, it is pretty funny.
http://chickaboomer.blogspot.com/2009/01/taintball.html
6th Grade mid terms next week, we are busy on the study guides. Google really comes in handy.
Laree, Thanks. I had seen the Colbert/Colmes bit a couple of days ago & agree it was very funny. Glad to see that Colmes has such a good sense of humor! Re: Google – sheesh! How did we manage to get instant info before Google? lol
Stdomsgirl,
And Not just Google but Email I am in contact with all the teachers via email I can keep up with grades online. There are even text books posted for some of the classes it really helps.
I was wondering if anyone knows is Imus still advertising Tassimo coffee-makers or is there a new coffee maker advertiser now?
Ann Coulter is no more or less obnoxious then Arriana Huffington. In teeter-totter fashion keeping each other’s POV in balance.
Imus was most recently humping Keurig Coffee Makers. These systems include reusable K-Cup® so you can brew Imus Ranch Coffee!
keurig.com
Not a matter of being more or less “than”. It’s a matter of degree. On the degree scale Coulter is just a pig. Can’t say that about either Huffington or in fact, Imus. IMHO, of course.
Thanks ChannelXRFR,
I was wondering, remember when Imus came back on air, Craig Crawford was able to use his Coffee Maker again:)
I think Coulter is a Satirist, the amount of vehemence she manages to generate, means she is good at it. I have problems with some of her positions, one is evolution. Coulter knows her audience, and she knows how to manipulate the MSM. I know I have listened to Imus, and Craig Crawford joke about Ann Coulter. I think once Imus was asking Craig if he would date Ann Coulter. Craig replied, I am paraphrasing here….I have a rule, I don’t date women with adam apples
Of course there is a difference in styles Huffington’s aristocratic demeanor to Coulter’s street fighter temperament. Where they are most alike is the insistent left vs right single minded trashing, leaving no fact standing in the way of an opinion or position.
Huffington displays at least a hint of class and demeanor. Coulter is just a classless pig. Big difference no matter which side of the isle your politics land.
Regardless of how it is expressed narcissism is beyond tedious.
Here’s a great article published Dec. 8th, 2008 in “Inside Radio”.
Entitled “Charles In Charge Sounds Agreeable Accord” by Mike Kisosian, the interview gives a good in depth look at Charles’ life, career, and a good write up of “The Imus News Hour”.
http://ftp.media.radcity.net/ZMST/insideradio/Interviews/McCordArticle12-08.pdf
I missed this one when it was first published. Hopefully the rest of you didn’t!
BTW…Imus just announced former President George Bush senior will be on tomorrow morning…
StDomsGirl,
DIVORCE DOC: GIVE MY KIDNEY BACK!
For the record Imus turned off Karith’s microphone today as she was defending Dawnell Batista. This is the women who allegedly had a steamy affair after her husband Dr. Richard Batista had given her one of his kidneys.
Karith’s position? We don’t know the whole story, maybe the Doc wasn’t getting it done for the wife, not showing her attention etc.
In a classic response Charles said “He gave her a kidney, how much more attention does he need to provide?”
Bernie alerted us to a hot photo of the Dawnell in the NY POST. Read More

LOL… I don’t mind being made fun of for what I stated, long ago, that this was not a typical “market correction”.
I spoke of the “the dire ” implications of what was to (up until now) befall the financial sectors. All the “dirt” is not quite out yet.
Instead of Taco Bells’ “4th Meal”….
…think of the 5th and final shoe yet to drop.
And it will. And very soon.
Things (and life in general) are about to get much worse for us all before they get “better”.
Here’s a tasty tidbit and hint: Go back to Imus’ interview with Col. Jack Jacobs (from either yesterday or the day before), where Imus revealed where HIS own money is invested.
Here’s the interview discussed above:
http://www.wabcradio.com/Article.asp?id=1092152&spid=22807
8:55 minutes into the interview.
That’s all (you all collectively will be happy to hear) I will discuss on this matter.
Let’s just “let it drop”. LOL
DonaldInks,
I just enjoyed the analogy so much I wanted to expand on it. Things are not looking good that is for sure.
I remember Imus was saying, he was earning 1% and his friends? associates? were chiding him he could be making so much more. I bet they are not chiding him anymore

Ree,
No offense was taken by me. Honestly. I can take a “good ribbing” as the next person.
“I bet they are not chiding him anymore ”
Pretty close to what Charles said during the above interview!
I fear for what comes next. For myself and my wife, my two children, and my (now) eight grandchild’s future.
It was once spoken, “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself”.
Unfortunately, that was a long time ago. The global implications, and the way other Nations react in response to this calamity and fear…well, that is another aspect amplified to this conundrum.
The European “New World Order” calls for global regulation of financial markets which is an attempt by the French and German political leaders to take over the China and US economies. The last thing the US needs is an economy body at the United Nations so third world nations with barely functioning economies can dictate policy to the US!
DonaldInks,ChannelXRFR,
Do you think this is the Europeans finally overplaying their hand? I mean China is a drowsing Giant, I wouldn’t call her Sleeping
And there still has to be Americans, that will Push Back….I mean they may not be sticking their necks out right now but I have to think we have someone in our corner. I am rooting for U.S.A. I don’t think I am alone.
Can someone help Ms M sign up, she really would like to post here. I marked the thread so you don’t have to scroll through the thread to the end.

Chanx,
The “German financial template” has become “obsolete”. Our Country, pretty much adapted their monetary thinking long ago.
The problem with integrating world economies (and, of course, world integrated financial networks) is the following (as we have now begun to realize)…
…when one major player falls at such an exponential rate…the rest collapse as well. If they “all fall down” together (as is the current world economic scenario)…they have to rise together.
Hence: what is coming NEXT.
Really…when you think of it, who put a gun to our Nations’ head to become “entwined” in this financial and industrial collusion?
Excellent point, and you hit it right on the nail.
Hillary Clinton- There will be the Devil to Pay…yada, yada, yada. Tell Imus Fans, something they don’t already know LOL!
http://michellemalkin.com/2009/01/08/hillary-clintons-pay-for-pay-problem/
Chanx…one last thought on this subject:
“Sarkozy blamed financial speculators for encouraging a system fueled on debt. He called financial capitalism based on speculation “an immoral system” that has “perverted the logic of capitalism.”
“It’s a system where wealth goes to the wealthy, where work is devalued, where production is devalued, where entrepreneurial spirit is devalued,” he said. ”
…and Sarkozy was correct in his interpretation on what has happened…leaving out the fact that GREED and CORRUPTION caused this scenario in the first place…and from WHERE? It was “proudly made in the USA”, and “exported” to all the other Nations in the entire financial world.
So, again, I beg someone to answer my question:
“who put a gun to OUR Nations’ head to become “entwined” in this financial and industrial collusion? “.
You already know the answer people. It ain’t a pretty thought…but it happened.
Capitalism does not have a monopoly on greed and corruption nor does the US. Here’s an India based company that has found itself in an Enron like mess..
Satyam Says It Has No Access to Its Financial Records Click|Here
Of course Ramalinga Raju’s fraud was only $1B. Not up to Bernie Madoff’s standards but considering where Rama started its an impressive take…
Who put a gun to our head?
What made the US a great manufacturing nation was access to raw materials and processing capabilities. Seems reasonable to assign a degree a degree of guilt to those anti-business, anti capitalist freaks who created the regulatory environment which chased manufacturing off shore?
Or how about those labor types who would rather have no jobs then “give in” to management?

Chanx,
The amount of money involved in corruption is not disputed, nor relevant. It was encouraged and became “status quo”. The devices, and trade “agreements” ( read OUTSOURCING) that were at the heart of what happened IS.
The fact that deals were cut, and in our Country alone, millions of Americans are out of work for the simple fact: IT WAS CHEAPER.
Americans loved cheap stuff until they realized, “hey…if this keeps going on like this, we will all be out of work…and won’t be able to BUY cheap stuff anymore”…
… and it is now beginning to sink in.
Proof? Look at China’s’ export numbers currently.
Spare me the corruption thinking on what tanked this entire global economy…WE did it. Not a pleasant thought to ponder, but we went along like “sheeple” and allowed it. Starting with our own Government, our Manufacturing “outsourcing” and on and on.
The “party” is over.
Time to “clean up the mess”.
The problem that you succinctly brought up was right on target: Will we be allowed to do it, or forced to?
That’s what happens when you outsource jobs, manufacturing companies, and tainted financial trading. I cannot wait for a champion to excuse the complicity in our Nations role on what has happened.
That article you quoted from on India exemplifies that there will be severe repercussions for THEIR country in future trade considerations as well as the electronic manufacturers and contracts that will suffer.
This, people, is truly “pay to play”.
“Seems reasonable to assign a degree a degree of guilt to those anti-business, anti capitalist freaks who created the regulatory environment which chased manufacturing off shore?”
Wrong answer. I might add, a short sighted one at best. Look at the stinking rat hole environment the Chinese have now received for our “ill gotten gains at a cheap price”.
…and THAT someday won’t come back to haunt us, and the rest of the global system? Think again…
Chanx,
As per the article on Satyam:
“Clients on Thursday generally praised the services offered by the Indian information technology and software outsourcer. But the confession by B. Ramalinga Raju, the group’s founder, that he had falsified accounts for “several years” shocked the hundreds of blue-chip companies, which include Unilever, Cisco and GE, that entrusted their data to Satyam.
“Satyam clients will naturally be concerned, and many will be forced to review contracts and talk to other suppliers . . . about potentially taking over work from Satyam,” said John C McCarthy, principal analyst at Forrester Research.”

What did Warner Wolf Predict for the Big Game tonight Gators vs Sooners at Tampa Bay. 45-24. The Sooners think they are going to blow them out. They think the big 10 is going to blow out the SEC. I really like the Sooners but I have watched Tebow…I really think the Gators are going to win.
There is a difference between being for pro-environment and anti -business. Unfortunately the pro-environment movement has been overrun with anti-business crowd. These are people who believe that any production is wrong
Transplants are building autos in the southeast while the big 3 are in cardiac arrest. Realistic business rules and regulations, reasonable business taxes and right to work have all contributed to create a climate for success for the transplants.
One month ago labor leaders in New Jersey gathered in Linden to bemoan the loss of a GM plant. One has to wonder if NJ was a more business friendly state would New Jersey have an auto industry and would there still be jobs in Linden?

catch 22, ms. m is now msm22, I’M BACK!
…and I’m happy to be here!
Yay! It’s great to see you both- it worked.
I got two acronyms for the global mess we are experiencing: NAFTA/GATT & my definition of bi-partisanship is COLLUSION…more good paying American jobs have been “out sourced” & if you take a good long look at say the auto industry, American vs foreign, every foreign car manufacturing plant on US shores have been built with that states’ taxpayers $’s & have received 20 to 30 yrs in tax deferred subsisidies….I would not call that a level playing field for Detroit & American auto workers…as well, I believe it is Toyota who recently declared sales way down in the last quarter….the US Chamber of Commerce is suing the Dept of Homeland Sec on e-verify, & with 10 million American workers out of work & 7 Million illegals employed, I would say that yes we have a gvn’t out of control & I will not be viewing the “historic” swearing in of the new president with basically the same cabinet of the past pres responsible for signing NAFTA/GATT…..
oh & I forgot to mention the “NY Senator”, the wife….who had a real problem with our boy Imus….great to be back tho…..
Hit a glitch on the new thread…here is the pop-up message I got…
