Pat Buchanan has one more great appearance on Imus ripping at the Clintons and the Clintonistas. Unabashedly conservative, he was never one of my favorites but sort of grows on you. Patrick J very nicely toggles between complimenting the Clintons and tearing them apart. Overall a very satisfying appearance.

Las Vegas Debates
Dennis Kucinich is a good man glad to see him at the table. Compares Kucinich to Ron Paul., both guys stood up against the war before it began “said lets not go to war”. History has proven both have a point of view worth listening to.
Race Issue – With all the talk about race (Martin Luther King, Lyndon Johnson) this issue for sure will be brought up. No question the black community is moving hard towards Obama. Question; is he exploiting race as an issue and did he raise this? Question; Hillary are you appealing to women because they come rolling out in the last 36 hours of New Hampshire? Even more sensitive an issue is Robert L. Johnson founder of Black Entertainment Television along with other Clintonistas or their surrogates of Obama’s highlighting Chicago drug use. (Resolved: Drug use does not disqualify one from being a talk show host!) Robert Johnson brought up the Chicago drug use,; he said it, then repeated it, behind him the audience laughed and was snickering. Everyone knows what he was referring to. Why didn’t he say; I did it and I’m sorry I did it, it was a wiseacre stupid thing to do and I apologize?
Hillary getting booed, what does that show? The MLK comments are really going through the black radio network and cable TV . On cable that is all we are talking about (interesting Pat did not mention MSNBC). Being booed at the MLK event is a direct consequence of the coverage. 48 hours before Hillary would have been cheered at this event but this is a hot issue! Is Obama exploiting the race issue to consolidate the black vote in South Carolina.? Or does Hillary realize the black vote is moving to him and will she move to consolidate the non-black vote to guarantee the nomination.? All very Calculating…
Martin Luther King Remark
Remark didn’t bother Pat. Hilary was saying you need the inspirational leader as well as the political leader to affect the civil rights legislation. Feels Hillary was correct on that. On the other hand, Bill Clinton laid out the case – Obama said he’s always been against the war but said the following..etc. Then Bill threw out the fairy tale thing, “clearly a slur on the entire campaign” That’s a fair shot against the Clintons.
Clintons are in a tough campaign but doesn’t feel like they’ve played dirt ball. They are being hammered to much because of the super-sensitivity of running against a fella who is an African American increasingly appealing to African Americans.
Bringing up the cocaine issues is straight dirt ball. Even though the Clintons haven’t done it, surrogates have. Clintons are running for the presidency. Bill Clinton took a hammering fo that Lewinsky thing, he disgraced himself and tarnished his presidency. His wife was humiliated, she was a laughing stock. What does she do? She picks herself up, takes her abuse, runs for the senate, answers the questions, gets elected. She is not liked by Senate Republicans – but goes all out to make friends becoming a solid senator who is now running for President. All of a sudden she sees it slipping away. They come fighting back. Its what Nixon and Regan would have done. Buchanan Net – Clintons Have Not Crossed Any Lines!
Why Put Drug Use Out There?
Clintonistas and the surrogates are putting the cocaine out there. What they want is for someone to put out a pole and ask “Would you vote for a young African American for President who is just out of the Illinois Legislature and was a coke-head who may have dealt drugs for President of the United States”. That’s what they are putting out there. That’s the message coming through by osmosis. Are the Clinton holding on to a couple of cards which would dynamite the Obama candidacy?
What About Republicans?
If Romney doesn’t win Michigan its hard to see how he wins the nomination, he can continue on, has more delegates, more votes, with 2 silvers and a gold. (Pat points out he had 33 silvers in ’92 and still lost to Bush!) Pat J Likes Romney. Comes down to who will go the distance with Huckabee? Romney picks off McCain in Michigan, Huckabee will pick off McCain in South Carolina. McCain doesn’t have the resources to go on. If McCain wins Michigan he would win South Carolina and will never be caught.
I-Moments, From Imus
Robert Johnson lied about the his meaning of Barack Obama in Chicago as being about community work and is a disgrace.
What Imus finds interesting regarding Bill Clinton’s churlish remark? It is how all of a sudden the Clintons start talking about context, intentions and stuff like that becomes relevant and important when it affects them.
Patrick disagrees with Imus on McCain. He doesn’t want another war. Alternative requires tough diplomacy with the Iranians, and get out of the Russians face. McCain is to bellicose and belligerent with an in your face attitude. Imus says he agrees with that, (McCain is still the man – continuing a streak of tremendous loyalty)
