Was that Scarborough for real? I have no idea what goes on there anymore ‘cuz I’m busy with Imus. I should turn it on with no sound just to see how Mika is fixing her hair that day. I have the same hair and I never know what to do with it….

You cut from the blow fish picture of HRC to the beefcake picture of Kenny Chesney an as I’m massaging the whiplash out of my neck, I’m thinking “if those are the options then maybe I could be gay” Anybody else have that reaction?
MSNBC is going to the dogs. Scarborough mysteriously leaves the show with 1/2 hour left. David Schuster uses “Pimping her Daughter” , concerning Chelsea contacting Stars and Super Delegates to support her Mother Hillary. “Satan”.
What I don’t like in the comments on this article is them bringing Imus into the mix. What does Imus have to do with saying pimping. His NHH comment was mild compared to that.
It was a chance to critique by piggy-backing on Imus. I don’t care for it either, but I see why the association was made. Both unfortunate wisecracks are references to young females “selling” or prostituting themselves. The sad part is the ease with which such demeaning comments continue to simply roll off the tongue with nary a conscious thought about what it implies about girls and women.
Great article on John McCain by Joseph Romm posted on Pipes I-Mash. And,disturbing – none of the Republicans seem to take Global Warming seriously. John McCain would have been the only Republican I would have considered voting for providing I had some hard liquor in me, but that’s not going to happen now. No way.
This is on the Huffington Post . The pipes you mentioned of course was created by our very own ChannelXRFR.
Now on this Global Warming debate. I am not a pundit for or against Al Gore’s belief in Global Warming. The Earths Temperature has risen a total of 1.4 degrees in over 100 years. 70 percent of the Water is frozen in the South Pole, not the North Pole. If they were to melt the sea would rise 70 feet and wipe out much of the coasts in every Country on the Globe. No sign of melting there.
So if the reason you are against voting for McCain (Which I haven’t decided on yet) is this reason alone. It is for the wrong reason in my opinion.
But all people have the ability to think for themselves and I honor your freedom of choice. Thank you Linda.
Just in the last few months, new studies have shown that the north polar ice cap — which helps the planet cool itself — is melting nearly three times faster than the most pessimistic computer models predicted. Unless we take action, summer ice could be completely gone in as little as 35 years. Similarly, at the other end of the planet, near the South Pole, scientists have found new evidence of snow melting in West Antarctica across an area as large as California. – from “Alliance for Climate Protection – Al Gore”.
If you ask me it is staged, there isn’t a bigger apparent liberal then David Shuster so why would he dis Hillary and Chelsea — to get them sympathy “Victimization” Hillary’s campaign is looking for money isn’t it? Shuster knows how to manipulate, I think, and I know this sounds cynical, he did this on purpose, it was caculated. That was why they compared it to an Imus moment …..to remind people you know Imus victimizes Hillary all the time, it soo Hillary’s favorite word “UNFAIR” Puleeze! If Hillary Clinton can’t take the American Media, how is she going to handle a real crisis and International players, that are really “Scary” I always think it is a mistake, when they start with the Victimization Card and Hillary crying on cue. That isn’t Presidential selling points.
You have to read my comments between the lines. I didn’t say that Global Warming is a myth. But the U.S. is low on the totem poll regarding the gases we put up in the atmospere.
Japan, Chiina, U.K., Russia and many Asian Countries are worse offenders.
All things evolve. But to say that in 35 years we are doomed is kind of being naive. Weather is changed by many things. And this is a period of time when severe weather is prevalent. Look at the cold and storms. The Tornadoes etc. Is this caused by Global Warming? Or a natural phenomenon that occurs every so many years? I am not sure.
And as far a Chris Matthews. Rubbish is what he preaches. I watch it because my Father watches it. But it is propaganda of the worst kind.
When attending college in the very early 70’s…a scientist put forth a model on the effect of fluorocarbons being released by aerosol sprays and refrigerants… that claimed that the upper atmosphere shield (the ozone layer) could be damaged and eventually would open “HOLES” at the poles and allow deadly radiation into the planets land masses…effecting…well, you know where I’m going with this….
He was greeted with derision, at first, by most scientists. He was later vindicated…and fluorocarbons were phased out…and banned.
There is hardly a reputable scientist, in this point in time, that would argue the effects of carbon emissions now…except for a few “fringe” groups
Thanks for the back-up. I am afraid, very afraid, for my children and for ALL life on earth. It doesn’t matter who is at fault the most, we are all at fault. This is all we have and we need to protect it. You hardly ever hear republicans talk about the environment – like they don’t live here! So sad for all of us
that we have to fight to protect what is so precious!
thanks for your in-put.
You mentioned China as being ONE of the worst offenders…Guess what? Our economic policies of the last 8 years helped feed that beast. Funny thing to me, that when China holds the Olympic Games SOON they are shutting down ALL of their industry and factories so “the athletes” will be able to BREATHE properly. WHY?
WE ( the US corporations that took our entire manufacturing base to China) did it because China didn’t give a rats ass about pollution controls. We get cheap stuff, we get new jobs making half of what we once made…and we help pollute the entire planet at a rate that we cannot even come to comprehend as of now.
ALL for the “Bottom Line”….
Lot’s of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
but not for the average American worker.
By the way…this “bail out package” that our government just passed to help “stimulate our economy”?
Guess where THAT money will come from?
We will borrow it from China.
…and we, SOME day in our very near future…have to PAY IT BACK. And with WHAT?….
You have been, and will always be my friend. I like your tenacious
nature. You, as always,…have been a staunch supporter of The Iman. You are a good soldier and fighter, ever since last April.
The thing I really appreciate about this site: we don’t get personal as far as opinions. Everyone is allowed there own opinion.
We respect one another…which to me…is refreshing.
Discussion is is a good thing. Educating each other is a good thing.
Lord knows I have been called to task for MY “wrong” postings as to FACTS….(thanks ChanX”) 😉
…that being said…we, as American citizens are in this for one reason: Freedom, Liberty, and Justice for all.
We NEED to hold fast to those core values…and not let them be taken away by any group, person or Political Party.
We stand united, or we fall…and become another page in history…
where we stand now?
We, as the American people need to pull together and work together and solve problems. We have MANY problems.
…but we CAN solve them. It will take the same resolve as the colonists faced against the British. The difference is:
we are now fighting for our very livelihood as American people against some of our very own.
We have been betrayed. We have been lied to. We have had our dignity stripped from us, and we find ourselves in the very position as to WHY we, as a people, came to these shores in the first place:
Foreign colonization and expansionism.
We , as a people now find ourselves needing to pull together, not push apart…to recreate what once was that Grand Experiment of Democracy…and wield it against those that would oppose our very nature.
These are frightening and uncertain times. Yet, we can as a whole…get back control over our OWN government…and take it back.
If we do not, and I have said this in numerable posts…we, as a country face what happened to the Great Roman Empire.
That, is a fact…and we need to wake up, get involved…start reading History, for History DOES repeat itself…unless we LEARN from it.
Most Americans, at this point have been blinded by Technology, Science, and “Political Agendas” that do not have the basic interests of the American citizen at heart. It has been overrun by corporate greed, reaching all the way to the very top of our leadership…and they answer, not to the average American citizen…but to GREED.
Is that what the average American wants?…or do they just want a fair shake…a fair wage for their work.
We, the people of the United States…HAVE the power of change. We either keep asleep within a dream of our technological slumber or we fight back…and take back our country and fight for what is now left of our Freedom, and our Dignity. That is what “One Nation Under God” meant.
NOT one nation enslaved by technology and greed.
We have a choice. Hopefully, it will be a wise choice.
Not based on fear and terror…but one of hope…and uniting us all together.
United we stand. Divided…well, let’s hope for the best in the American people, and the ability to reason within themselves, and reject things that really do not matter in the grand scheme of life…and pursue the other.
Here, are the words of Lech Walesa (on 6/11/04) on Ronald Reagan’s support of HIS peoples Union struggles in Poland…while smashing the Unions struggles in our own country:
“I often wondered why Ronald Reagan did this, taking the risks he did, in supporting us at Solidarity, as well as dissident movements in other countries behind the Iron Curtain, while pushing a defense buildup that pushed the Soviet economy over the brink. Let’s remember that it was a time of recession in the U.S. and a time when the American public was more interested in their own domestic affairs. It took a leader with a vision to convince them that there are greater things worth fighting for. Did he seek any profit in such a policy? Though our freedom movements were in line with the foreign policy of the United States, I doubt it. ”
What Mr. Walesa did NOT point out, was millions of taxpayers dollars were poured into a “Labor Union” in a foreign country…while at home…well, do you remember the Air Traffic Controllers Union?
The reward for the ATC fighting for fairness in our own country was met with Government decertification. The end of THEIR Union.
Hmmmm…..If it works for Foreign policy…unions are good. If it works against Corporate greed in our own county?…Bad.
Also, I voted for Ronald Reagan…twice…and thought he was a good man. But that “Union Thing” really stuck in my craw. It was hypocrisy at it’s worst. If I saw it…so did many other people, and countries. I know the middle class union members in this country noticed it also. However…he was a great president…IMOHO.
Schusters suspension seems open ended. No set time or length.
It is frankly an appropriate suspension. And the complaint did not originate from what I gathered from the Clintons but the Public.
In many ways it was worse then what Imus said. But that is a matter of perspective. It is ashame. The man was a darn good reporter. But getting involved with Chris Matthews or Tucker is a disaster in the making.
Now the question is: Where in the World is Joe Scarborough? Was he pissed about Schuster and what Mika may have said. Or is he reading the writing on the wall.
If Reagan fired the Air Traffic Controllers in the 80’s it was due to not abiding by a Government rule. And as a whole was the right thing to do. Things are not any better now with the ATC then they were in the 80’s. Still overworked and increased near misses mean unqualified people are manning the radar screens, especially in New York and Atlanta. Two busy areas of the Country.
Unions are good. But can also be the downfall of many industries. Just look at the Writers Union.
Donald will disagree with me I know about the ATC and Airport workers, but it is my opinion.
…as you so well pointed out in your own words though:
“Things are not any better now with the ATC then they were in the 80’s. Still overworked and increased near misses mean unqualified people are manning the radar screens, especially in New York and Atlanta. Two busy areas of the Country.”
My question would be why, and also why is it good to use US taxpayer money to support Unions to thwart our enemies…and quash our own here?…
Doesn’t really seem “American”….
as I said: Ronald was a great president in my eyes…and in the eyes of history.
Mess Loonvess striks again. It ws the most opular show on UPN it was also instrumenta in merging UPN nd WB into The CW.
“After a successful decade of “SmackDown” on both UPN and The CW, World Wrestling Entertainment and The CW have agreed to conclude our partnership. Since The CW’s exclusive negotiation period ran out as of last Thursday, January 31, we have been contacted and have been in negotiations with other networks. “WWE SmackDown” will continue to air on The CW until the conclusion of the 2007-08 broadcast season. We are grateful to Les Moonves, Dawn Ostroff, and their entire organization for bringing “WWE SmackDown” to millions of viewers for so many years.” – WWE Corporate HQ
Donald you are so right about Reagan. He made a very unpopular decision. But it worked in the end. For awhile.
Now onto something I caught today that no one has mentioned.
Imus was talking about At&T on installing a T1 line for a direct connection to WABC. Now this sounds like good news.
Maybe we will not get a live picture of Imus on RFD. But we will get Imus’ audio for the show and for radio.
That is how I take it. Maybe someone caught it and just didn’t pay attention to a T1 line. ChannelXRFR and many other saavy Communications people can explain what that is compared to a BroadBand Connection or DSL line.
How convienent for Hillary, now she can play the victimization card again. I think the whole thing was STAGED, I think Shuster knew he would get Hillary sympathy, and they can make “shape the perception” that Hillary is being victimized by the Media NO SHE ISN’T. Perception trumps Reality but Commerce trumps both. MSNBC has Olberman writing for the Daily Kos come on already, Hillary Clinton stated at a Daily Kos convention, that she established Media Matters For America. We know MMFA connection to MSNBC. I don’t think Tucker or Matthews is in on it. This is some Media manipulation for Hillary Clinton, when the Delegate count finally started getting reported correctly 2-3 days later and Obama is ahead. I think it is dumb, having Hillary posture as any kind of victim or cry on cue, it isn’t Presidential. This is why they had to compare Shuster to having an Imus moment to remind everyone of how long suffering Senator Clinton has been, this is the perception for the MSM to saturate the air waves. Huh? I don’t buy this story for a minute but I will be interested in how much media Juice, the Clinton Campaign can get out of the Shuster story. Sure is convienent timing…remember when Michael Graham told the diggs town story about McCain’s people taking a dive for Huckabee in West Virginia? Yeah maybe somebody at MSNBC is taking a dive for Hillary Clinton. I’m just saying she is behind and needs to look sympathetic.
I guess she doesn’t want to look Presidential.
This isn’t the first time Shuster has done this, when he was filling in for Tucker Carlson before remember how he treated that congress woman, he kept asking her about a soldier who died from her district, he kept asking her how come you didn’t know he died, how come you didn’t know his name….yeah he is out of MSNBC’S control.
The T1 line is the broadcast link from the IR. It is highly reliable with the major benefit being distance away from the CO. Charges are based on the distance from the phone company’s facilities, it can get very expensive. The new high speed DSL and Cable links are actually much faster then T1. The distance to the ranch rules out both DSL and Cable.
Interestingly, the radio remote feed can be accomplished with a normal phone line, although there is some loss of quality. However, the TeeVee part requires the T1 or a Satellite feed. Guess Patrick does not want to park a Satellite truck at the ranch for 10 days or so.
Wolfson pointed to what he called a pattern of tasteless comments by MSNBC anchors about the Clinton campaign. Weeks ago, “Hardball” host Chris Matthews apologized to the former first lady after suggesting her political career had been made possible by her husband’s philandering.
IS THIS THE SAME NETWORK THAT TARRED AND FEATHERED THE I-MAN? NO, THEIR EMPLOYEES WOULD NEVER DEMEAN A WOMAN……….
WONDER IF THE THE I-MAN IS BACK SOMEWHERE CHUCKLING TO HIMSELF AT THIS FOOLISHNESS!!!!! 🙂
Harley, thanks for that link. I hadn’t seen the clip.
Oh, Good Lord, yeah Mika and Willie were so sucky face about the whole thing. What a double standard! How phony! Makes my stomach turn.
Of course it’s easy to say the wrong thing or imply the wrong thing. We all understand that. But old big bad Imus.. wasn’t he just awful according to MESSNBC?!! Well, of course it was all just a big set-up against Imus plus lily livered MESSNBC didn’t have backbone enough to stand up for Imus.
It’s probably just a matter of time before MESSNBC flushes down the toilet…don’t let the toilet lid hit you in the butt!
I got the idea from Alison’s post to just record the interviews I want to re-hear on my little hand-held tape recorder that I used to carry into class (the secret to college success). Decidedly low-tech, but it will do the job until my husband is done dithering about Charter vs. DirecTV (he almost there!!).
So I’ve been rewinding Carl Jeffers. Wowee! Mile-a-Minute Carl packed a ton of fun into his 15 minutes of I-Fame. More later…my ears are throbbing now…
Oh, before this thread is history…the Mitchell and Webb vid is piyp funny…I went to YouTube and played some of their others…too much! I wouldn’t care if the writers never settle their strike if I could watch these guys every night…I say, get them over here!
Hey – I’m the “jerk,” and I appreciate all of you coming by to visit my humble blog.
Imus may be an icon for you get-a-lifers, and that’s fine. But don’t ever deny that he’s a racist. No one who “doesn’t have a racist bone in his body,” as one of you commented at my place, would call a group of African-American women what he called them. NO ONE. It’s offensive, it’s wrong, and he deserved to be fired.
Pity he’s found another outlet for his hateful message, but as long as you folks are cheering him on, I guess there will always be a place for racist, selfish, no-talent windbags like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and of course Don Imus.
Thanks again for coming by! Have a great weekend!
Oh, and Bruce (@ 66)? My e-mail address is on my blog. You might want to work on reading comprehension, pal. Wow, that’s some powerful stupid right there … I’m embarrassed that you and I live in the same state.
Embarrassed, but not surprised … Florida’s full of idiots. And, having spent a good amount of time in Bradenton visiting a former girlfriend who was an administrator at MCC, I’ve seen firsthand the idiocy that town produces.
Anyway, thanks again. Have fun under the Democratic adminstration for the foreseeable future (starting 1/20/09)!
(PTBartman: “journalistic flatulence?” Did you come up with that by yourself or did your mom help you?)
So when you are ready to do the hustle. Keep posting here and you will get a whole lot of messages from we the Imus friends. And we are just a mere drop in the bucket to the Millions that do not take too kindly to crap spewed from your Computer.
I smiled when I read your comment about your little audio recorder.
Until the podcasts started rolling in, I was putting my old fashioned cassette recorder up to my laptop, setting it up on WABC, and just leaving it all on the kitchen table because I had to get back to sleep since I teach late afternoons into early evenings. I felt kind of “tech-less”, but hell, it got the job done… LOL ..I’ve got the first few days all tucked away with some of my other treasures.
