Speaking of radio this is a citadel station down where I live, we were just at one of their promotionals for the troops, signed a banner to send to the troops Rayla Ray was singing live. Not bad either. Wouldn’t the radio gods consider putting Imus on a Dallas Radio Station? We took a couple of photos with my camera phone.
Interesting development regarding the Talkstreamlive (TSL) Top 25 Talk Radio Report. On a month over month basis Imus moved up 3 spots in the rankings from January’s 15th to February’s 12th. Imus share increased .3 of a point during the period.
I would love to hear Coach Stringer on the show. I think we should encourage her. If she truly has any qualms about it let her discuss it with Debra Dickerson. I’ve been rooting for Rutgers all season. I was really impressed with how she, and by extension, her team handled the whole “incident”. They showed a lot more class and maturity than most of the adults involved.
Let’s face it if Bruce and Burns (no offense to either) could settle their differences Imus and Stringer should be a walk through a piece of cake (or something like that)
I hope she does go on. It would make a whole lotta more sense than for her to try to recreate her anger from 2007 to sell a few books. Maybe she can contribute to the talk about race that everyone wanted to have back in April. And…on another note, wouldn’t the perfectly Christian/PC thing to do would be able to FORGIVE folks ???
Is this the Talkstream live ratings you were referring To?

We need to get Monica’s numbers up, I keep telling her to add a blog roll to increase her online traffic, a blog roll from some of the online high traffic blogs like (HOT AIR) will have people tuning into stream her live. They need to find her first and then they need to form the habit. I know this is a Imus Blog but Monica is a regular guest and is always good on the program, and she didn’t fold like a cheap lawn chair last April when Imus got fired. Ever notice that of the Conservative Talkers, Monica doesn’t wander out on the ledge. I mean remember Glenn Beck’s bum surgery?
Does Orac ever give full disclosure? I mean does he tell anyone if he has ever taken money say from a drug company or a phrama lobbyist? I am just saying a person can describe themselves in a multitude of different ways is omission a lie, I don’t know? The name Orac in the discription tells you, the person is hiding their real identity Why? Full Disclosure are people who read and comment even asking themselves about the source of the article? What happened to critical thinking in this country. How would I judge if this article was true, relevant or even up to date?
One more thing about Stringer…If she can hear the DUMB COMMENT that Isaiah Thomas made about African American women, denounce him AND apologize to him for said denouncement, she can definitely forgive the I-Man! What say you?
I believe…especially in light of Dons show at present, and the ongoing duologue on race relations…along with Debra Stringer, Carl Jeffers and others… C. Vivian Stringer just might take Imus up on his offer to come on the show. I, also would find that interview a great one.
Don’t get me started on “Orac”….lol.
ChanX, Bruce and myself went head to head with that site after he trashed Dierdre’s Post about the mandated vaccines in (was either New York, or New Jersey)…and he is a person of very little reason…

In 77 I was in 7th grade and I loved the show. As I grew the show grew and I’m glad of it. There area lot of things in my life I thought were brilliant when I was a child, very few of them have kept my interest as I matured. If Imus hadn’t continued to evolve I doubt I’d be here. After all I can’t rememberr the last time I watched an episode of th Partridge Family.
The days of old radio. But Imus and Stern were the only ones I listened to when travelling from Home to Work and returning.
By the way. The Nut Job SkiWolf is really the Coalman in disguise on Imus Truth.
Coalmanfan, you make me laugh! “ye of widdlle faith” You’re so right, Imus has reinvented himeself many times. He’s a master at it.
Yes coalman, I am your biggest fan! And, to the poster who wondered, Yes, I am a girl!!!!!! My !!!!! and my UGH were your only clue?
Bruce, please learn the difference between your and you’re. I’ve given you examples above. Ir’s so simple really.

your’e = you’re
curmudegeon = curmudgeon
Your’e = you’re
The grammatical errors are not worth commenting on.
However, there is no hyphen in Skiwolf. Thanks.

What you failed to see (or the idiots that are perpetrating this against Bruce) was Bruce is banned at ImusTruth, and cannot post there. YOU slipped up. YOU forgot WHERE you were posting.
For the site that hails itself as the POSITIVE Imus blog, it seems nastiness and pettiness is just as rampant here as well.
That’s the mixed blessing of freedom of speech for you.
And to add my own “positive” note, that 31-year-old aircheck gives us an idea of what a strong voice Imus had in his prime. However, I prefer the format of the modern-day Imus.
If we could only have the paltry commercial load of the earlier show! (Mind you, that must be why the whole staff was sacked!)
That “Old Aircheck Clip” was funny as heck to listen to…so dated as to what we are now accustomed to, as P.T. pointed out…but back then, it was “our entertainment”. LOL
As far as the site being a “positive” blog, it is. The only trouble we may encounter every once in a while are mischievous trolls…like any other site, I guess. Obviously their Mommy didn’t get them in for “nap-time” and are cranky…
Listening to the “Cardinal” reminded me of the conversation Keith and I had with Bernie outside the Town Hall Theater following the Imus Returns event on Dec 3rd. We had asked what his on air role would be? Bernie replied “I have no idea but Imus had me talk on-air today” Bernie really had no idea where it was leading he was happy to be back with Imus on the new program. I walked away from discussion with a real appreciation for Bernie.
Imus is putting the show back together in a very deliberate way. Pushing the new and easing the old back into the mix. Now if they could get that 2-way video going.
And how hard could that be? When I worked at a Company our Main Computer was in the building I was in. And using a Microwave antenna was able to transmit the signal from one building to another with no latency.
Why doesn’t WABC set this up? It is complicated but simple in my estimation.
If MSNBC could do it why is it such a problem with RFD or WABC?
I think RFD TV and 77WABC come up to each other but have a hard time overlapping. I think it is in RFD TV’S court right? Imus was talking about using a computer webcam? For the back and forth btw him and Lou, that was the problem he didn’t like the delay. We don’t see it, that is what Fred kept telling him, still I bet it is annoying as hell especially if you are used to something that is more up to date and you have used it before you know the technology is available. Why won’t RFD TV give them a monitor? why a web cam, that is what they are used to using but you know Imus in the Morning is a radio program, and that is probably virgin territory for the RFD TV folks. I think Imus is saying just let it be solved.
I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news, but wasn’t Imus saying earlier this week there was going to be “big news” regarding the radio station and his show? What was he talking about? Was it the firing of Gambling and Weber? Just curious… seems like interesting foreshadowing and timing.
Ablesbrahcy’s this is the new tactic, turn the clocks back. Using news reports from April ’07 as a reference blog on.
Another recent tactic is to refresh the date from a blog back from April for another round of circulation.
Other bloggers – Orac from Respectful Insolence is one of those people David Kirby describes in Huffington in a warning to John McCain. This warning issued in regard to the Senators comments about a possible link between mercury in vaccines and autism.
In the meantime, get ready for a whole new sub-species of infantile sloganeering that will be heaped upon you with tedious repetition.
You, Senator, like it or not, are now a card-carrying member of the “Mercury Militia.” You are a tin-foil hatter, a “denialist dead-ender,” and an “anti-science” nut job grasping at emotional, litigious straws.
You, Senator, in the raw vernacular of your newfound enemies, are one of those awful, ragtag “anti-vaxers” who just want to see kids get sick from preventable diseases and die
Looking at the blog stats from Orac’s site there are a number of medical researchers who follow Orac. Reminds me of the propeller heads who sat in a corner of the dining hall away from everyone. Generally embarrassing everyone associated with the Science and Engineering Departments with their juvenile behavior. Guess what? They never grew up, they found another table thanks to the Internet.
Goiing back a few posts to the talk streaming rankings:
I know I’ve heard the name Tammy Bruce somewhere over the years, but danged if I know where she airs or when.
I’m wondering if the reason she ranks higher than Rush on streaming sites is because you have to PAY to hear Rush’s audio stream through his website, and only a true die-hard Rush fan would pay for it.
Also, I believe that affiliate stations are forbidden by their contracts to stream Rush live.
I *think* that’s true…I haven’t worked at a Rush affiliate for many years, so my info may be out of date. Just putting it out there as a theory.
Tammy Bruce appears on Fox News in a rotation on different segments. There was a memorable segment on the Factor when she was discussing what happened to Imus, when he got fired it is the segment, when O’Reilly put up the chart to show how Soros money flows through different orgs and to different well known orgs, that attacked Imus. Tammy used to be the head of one of the N.O.W. chapters, she described how easy it was for her to type up something in her basement, and the next day it would be circulated through many publications. These orgs in themselves don’t have the clout they need so they work in concert with each other.
TSL is an informal survey that scoring on the way a listener enters a broadcast site. For example if the person were to log into WABC or Imusonair through TSL’s site the visit would be logged and ranked. Suspect Tammy Bruce has a loyal group of listeners who are logging on through TSL.

As you all know I am never critical of the Imus in the Morning program.
But today many things occurred that were disturbing the flow of the program.
With Imus having these coughing fits there was an 18 minute blank spot on ImusOnAir.com. Could have been the stream but my guess it was due to Imus unable to continue. Maybe someone can correct me on that.
The Theatre on the air was a disaster with interruptions and stop and go problems because Imus was not feeling well. He didn’t understand the Oprah Winfrey line. Then a full restart then another interruption and it ended with a nothing.
Brian Williams never materialized for one reason or another. Could have been he was bumped or refused to come on at the last minute. No mention by Imus on that. Not that I heard. RFD may have shown something else which I do not get.
All in all it was one of the worse programs I have heard so far since December 3rd.
I recorded the program this morning from 3 radio stations, but not from Imusonair. They were all screwed up to some extent, but WABC was much better than the other two. WABC had no blank spots, and I think it was mostly complete. It recorded in 4 sections though, and there was a 3 minute delay throughout. (The top of the hour news didn’t start until 3 min. after.)
I thought Tony’s Paul Harvey imitation was pretty good this morning.
I rather enjoyed the Theatre On The Air. It’s a change from the norm, is pretty smart satire, and despite the fact that Karith is not the world’s best actress, and the technical problems required the do-over, it was silly fun. I kind of like the live, spontaneous feel of it all, and the attempt at recreating an old time radio drama.
I don’t know what the Brian Williams situation was, no great loss IMHO. He’s on my permanent weasel list along with Russert and Ana Marie Cox and David Gregory and Anna Quindlan.
As far as the ‘worst programs’ since December 3rd, there have been ‘rougher’ moments in the preceding months, but there were also moments of brilliance, too. Delbert’s performance, the Debra Dickerson interview, Chuck’s rant, Lou’s madman parroting of Paul Harvey and Hillary, Warner’s sports, a new (albeit toothless) Cardinal, Tony’s ‘Mother as President’ bit, some solid, clever, funny and well performed stuff from Rob, (when he’s a character) but I’m always mindful it’s still a ‘work in progress’. It was an 8 month hiatus, there’s a new dynamic, and they’re still dealing with adjusting to the new surroundings and the growing pains. Each day, more of the program sounds a tad slicker than the one before it, barring the technical glitches, and, yes, the I-Man’s health. I’m very concerned that he’s not getting better. I wonder what condition he’d be in if he were eating the occasional ‘Big Hairy Steak’ instead of the Tofufurters?
Right on, Billy, nice to see you here. You are right there have been many moments of brilliance—I would add some great moments like: all of Don Corleone and basically everything Rob Bartlett has done, the great EF Hutton story when everyone was … silent. Tons of great stuff, which we were cataloging for posterity until that mean lesbian Gottsch came in and stole the fun.
Well, he can’t be that bad, he did bring back the I-Man!
I’m sure Brian Williams decided he didn’t want to answer questions about his affairs, or how they’re in the tank for Senator Jesus, or maybe he just remembered he’s not as cool as Brit Hume, and didn’t want the I-Nation to have a chance to judge for themselves…
In re: Vivian Stringer — Perhaps not only would Imus learn something from an interview with her, but might not Miss Stringer learn something from Imus also? I think an interview between the two would be very interesting, and I bet, like Debra Dickerson, Ms. Stringer would most probably have her basketball socks knocked off!
Bruce, thank you for the cardinal youtube clip. I am behind the “imustimes” and today was the first time I had heard it via your clip. It was very funny. Great job, Bernie!
Bruce, I was listening to the show this morning on imusair, and I did notice some dead time during I-man’s coughing spells, but never as long as 18 mintues.. it was only maybe a minute or two, from my recollection. He was really really having a hard time with that nasty cough today!
Just a little side note – if you close your eyes and just listen to Dana Bash report on CNN, she sounds very much like Deidre Imus! Try it!
Bruce, does it hurt your feelings when I-man talks about how awful Florida is, so does it just make you proud? … LOL
Nothing said about what I said bothers me at all. Believe I didn’t miss anything with my 18 minutes or maybe less of dead air on ImusOnAir.
Could have been a technical problem on my end too.
As far as Brian Williams not appearing I am with Keith on this. He just might not have wanted to answer any questions. Lupica I believe took his spot. And that was more informative than anything Mr. Williams would have said.
I took that 10:04 second kabash of Epidsode 6 of the “Imus Radio Theatre on the Air and edited out all the interruptions. And will have the YT presentation later for you. It is as if none of those incessant interruptions were never there. Now it is 7:04 in length.
Thank you all. And Billy welcome aboard the most wonderful site regarding Imus on the Web today.
I forgot to answer Ginger regarding Imus’ comment on the State of Florida.
Now this is the 2nd or 3rd time he has stated something like this on air. And for the most part I have to agree with him.
Florida has an awful Property Tax formula. It has hurricanes, tornadoes, warm temperature even when they say it is cold and bugs.
As a former North Easterner transplanted to the State of Wisconsin in 1991 and then on the to West Virginia in 2000. This was a decision I made to help my Father who lost my mother in 2003.
But will say this.
Florida has a lot of crime. It also has high electric rates and no State Income Tax. What it does have is Disneworld.
So unless you live here. Don’t move here. Great place to visiit with the family but not a place to live unless you are old and ready to die. And you might die by murder or other violent crime at an earlier age.
Did you know that Florida has over 100 Thousand unlicensed drivers with no insurance roaming around our already congested roadways? A disaster in the making.
Bruce, I too experienced the lengthy interruption on imusonair. There was a problem for the network too because by the time I got to the Tan Talk Network stream from Florida, they were replaying a chunk of Friday’s show to fill the void. On RFD, which I was taping elsewhere in the house, there was no interruption.
I hear a Citadel (ABC radio) FM station in Washington will be carrying Imus as of Thursday. This is a critical part of the Imus resurgence since it will raise his daily profile with the A-list guests of yore.
There was also speculation in the Chicago Sun-Times today that current staff slashing at the Citadel stations in the Windy City will lead to a return of the syndicated Imus there.
Just wanted to thank you for the youtubes. Haven’t had a chance to listen to all, but got to listen to Fred today and it could have been MY brother. Tears are still rolling down!
And it is different to just listen as opposed to RFD. Again thank you for giving a bright spot at the end of a rough day.
And for the foodies….a nicely marbled 10 oz ribeye, baked potato with special sauce, a tall glass of scotch and Imus Youtubes! What a feast.
I couldn’t get any “imusonair” today at all…listened on WABC only to bits of “fits and restarts” …felt soooo bad for the I-Man, but also for Charles who Imus “gave a new one to” (‘scuse me, Charles, I should properly say “to whom Imus gave a new one”) for failing to jump in quickly enough with a news update to cover for the coughing fit – two-fits-in-one! That was worth a laugh, but probably not to the I-Man 😦 Hope the pulmonary doc comes up with a solution…
Well, it’s been another great night for Hillary, and another horrible night for Imus fart. Dierdre must have had to change to old man’s “depends” three or four times tonight, just to keep him happy while the Clintons humiliated him and his media buddies, yet again. The good news is that Hillary has confirmed that she is washing her booty exrta well, so that it will be nice and clean, when Imus, Bernie and Chuck…all get down on thier knees to “SUCK IT”…HA HA:)
