Imus Radiothon Continues on WABC/New York May 8-9
WABC-AM/New York, the new home of “Imus in the Morning,” announced that the 19th Annual Imus Radiothon will be held on May 8-9. All funds raised from the event will benefit the Tomorrows Children’s Fund, CJ Foundation for Sids and the Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer.
The fundraiser will kick off with the Imus Show live on Thursday the 8th from 6-10am, continuing through the day on WABC, and conclude the next morning with an “Imus Grand Finale.”
Hackensack University Medical Center will host the volunteer phone banks and as usual all sorts of diverse people and corporations will be joining. Over the years, this event has raised over $40 million.

My debit card is ready. 😉
Thank you for this information, Chanx. I won’t claim to have a “great mind,” or that we “think alike,” but I was thinking this morning, “will there be a telethon this year?”
I’m actually still waiting for the tee-shirt that was promised by WFAN last year for the category I donated in. I guess I should quit looking for it. 🙂
Truly good news. Anything on if it’s a live event? I’d love to attend if it is. And BTW efffyou WFAN.
BTW, WABC has done a serious and long needed update of their website. Live streaming is much better and interviews of previous guests are now readily available. Good stuff!
Yes the Radio-Thon will be a spectacular event. And if I have the funs I certainly will contribute.
Also remember the Imus Ranch Record has been delayed till June 10, 2008 due to liner notes not being written yet. Imus is passing this off to someone else.
Will buy that one too. All Proceeds go to the “Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer”. A great cause.
Imus is doing very well. More affiliates were added to his line up. Two in Florida one in Maine and another is the Voice of the Boston Red Sox. Frequencies allude me at this time.
And we all know Comcast is now showing him in Tennesee. So everything is looking up for the I-Man.
Thanks for the New Thread. Even Imus Truth changed theirs. Miracles do happen.
Now if I could only spell I would be a miracle too. Fun equals funds. LOL
Enjoy today’s Triple Comedy routines on Imus while you are enjoying this last day of March. And remember. Tomorrow is April Fools day. Watch out for tricks.
sweeeeeeet…
Yea, Big Roy played a nasty one last year, but it turned out the joke was on him 🙂
Yes, skiwolf, the wabc website is looking good and I love the podcasts on demand. I listened to quite a few of the interviews this week-end that I had missed last week. They are great when you don’t seem to have the time to listen through the entire podcasts or hunt for a particular interview. You can just pull up a selected interview quickly. Listening to them is kind of like eating potato chips. It’s hard to stop! They are addictive.
The Imus radiothon is a wonderful event, and I’ll be happy and honored to contribute.
Congratulations to Diedre on her honor. Also, I got a kick out of Imus cornering Lou Dobbs this Monday morning regarding why he couldn’t host Diedre’s event. Lou was squirming a little it seemed.. LOL ..Imus is so cool!
I hope Bernie is back on Tuesday!
Now a little off topic but really worth Watching and Listening.
Pastor Manning from NYC has been somewhat controversial. But in this YouTube Video he really tells the Truth about the mess regarding Katrina/Hurricane. I hope you watch it. Gives a whole New Meaning to the “Real Truth”
I am really not into promoting my YouTube Video’s. However there are more on Yahoo Video’s.
And if you watch this YouTube Presentation you will find out where to find all of them. I thank my friends who do support my efforts. And those that do not that is your decision.
So watch this and click on the TinyUrl to get there. It was a fight with YouTube to get this one posted. But it finally, with some finesse it worked.
Thank you all.
This is going to be interesting. Curtis Sliwa, who has no love for Imus, is going to help with a radiothon? And then there are the pre packaged shows, like Rush Limbaugh, Mark Lavin, Sean Hannity…how are they going to be “live”? If it goes on into the wee hours, you have the nut job who took over Art Bell’s slot. There isn’t a lot of live opportunity to do live break ins with pre programmed shows.
OK — we need an Imus Times office pool.
The question is: In what day, month and year will Karith be funny?
I choose the never box and rate my chances of winning at 90%.
Another day of degrading humor about the Clintons, and careful parsing about what is the proper designation between blacks and african-americans. And of course, no making fun of either Obama. I wonder if late at night, Imus reflects on how much in a box he is now? Obviously, there are many instances to poke fun of the Obamas, but Imus is now politically correct. On and on about the black situation.
Happy April Fools day all.
For your enjoyment, my favorite April Fools Joke of all time.

queenpat,
I think there will be plenty of time to do local cut-ins during the syndicated shows. They’ll just do them during the local commercial breaks.
Now that I’m typing and thinking…Sean Hannity was such an Imus supporter that it would not surprise me if he mentioned the radiothon a few times during his show.
Regardless, i’m sure this year’s radiothon will be the best ever!!!

Happy Fools day everyone. I don’t have any real good ones to tell you so I will just read from others.
Yes the Radio/TV-A-Thon will be spectacular. The Levon Helm band is rather busy as you can see.
Now we get to Mr. Ski-Wolf: Imus already has had problems with Media Matters and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women concerning some satirical Humor.
He needs not attack Barack Obama any more than the media has for the Reverend Wright connection.
And Karith is funny, though doesn’t have a great delilvery yet. Just a suggestion to you and anyone else who has a negative feeling about anyone on the New Imus in the Morning Show.
Shouldn’t we all be worried about Bernie’s family problems? Instead we discuss ad-nauseum how this one isn’t any good or that one isn’t funny. HEY. Special Alert. You can’t please everyone all the time.
Hope you understand my position on the “IMUS IN THE MORNING” show. He is on and that is what counts.
Later friends.
Sorry SkiWolf,
The part about Obama was someone elses post. A person unknown to me. So just ignore that part of the statement.
Good Day
Bruce,
You and others who support the “New Imus Show” ad naseum need to get a grip. There is stuff that is good, stuff that is great and stuff that sucks. That’s just the way it is.
Anyone who thinks this show is as good as it was during it’s glory days on WFAN is delusional. It’s just not.
That said, I’m grateful Imus is on the air. Still the best interviewer around and I’m happy about that.
Karith, sucks!
I think there is a fine line between wishful or positive thinking and delusion.
Well Ski let’s not get into a war of words.
You have your opinion and I have mine. I respect you for expressing it. But delusional is kind of harsh don’t you think?
You have a great day.
Skiwolf – I think you may be “delusional” to think his WFAN days were glorious. I remember turning him off quite a bit from boredom and the tediousness of listening to his rants concerning the benefits of green cleaning! Some seem to conveniently forget his “old” show had flaws also.
I’ve just been watching Imus and/or listening to him for about the last 3 or 4 years, but there were times that I walked out of the room, turned the tv off, got mad, stomped off, because of something he said. I got really upset with him once when he criticized very harshly, Elizabeth’s Smart’s parents. I didn’t watch him for about 6 months after that. Still, I have a special place in my heart for him and the show and I always come back. Yeah, I always forgive him! That’s what you do when you love someone.
I absolutely love the new show. Karith and Tony don’t bother me. Perhaps it’s because I only listen via radio. I don’t have RFD (YET) and so can’t see them. To me, they are just a very small section of time. Imus’ interviews are outstanding. I think they are what I like best about the show except maybe for the banter between all those guys.. Charles, Lou, Bernie, Imus…the banter is the real heart of the show I think. The banter shows their human qualities, their vulnerabilities and their real bond among each other.
I look forward to listening every day and I’m thrilled that the I-man is back!
Maybe Obama will call in with a HUGE donation:

ENJOY?
Bruce,
Sorry for the word delusional. I’m just sick to death of the contant attacks on those that think the show needs some help/improvement.
I’ve been listening to Imus since about 1989. The show has a long ways to go to get back to where it was prior to 2006. Not even close.
Ski,
Not a problem at all. But don’t hold your breath too long for that to happen.
Imus learned this time that being controversial that goes too far is just that, TOO OVER THE TOP.
So we accept what we can and go on from there.
If I could offer a perspective…
Imus has had a number of meltdowns over the years. After each meltdown the show took a few steps back as the program found its legs.
IMO he is coming back faster and stronger then before. How far he takes the program is anyones guess. All the same I’m still enjoying the program and listening most every day.
The current Imus In The Morning show is doing fine.
For those that “pine” for the old days… there were many (and many different incarnations I might add)…
you can’t go back…just forward.
To do otherwise…now that is delusional.
It’s good to have the Old Cowboy back on the air.
Bruce, I hate to break it to you, but that pipsqueak loser of a station in the small New England town isn’t `THE Voice of the Red Sox` .. it’s the baseballl station for just that village. Surprised a man of the world like you would be so hoodwinked.
About the radiothon .. at WFAN the entire schedule was devoted to raising the bucks. That surely won’t happen at WABC duriing the periods occupied by Lindbaugh, Hannity, Levin, etc.
Hey Ron Rob,
Don’t you listen to Imus? He said it I didn’t. Would you like me to dig up the audio on that? I will if you insist.
Seems like your picking at minor things. I may have said the wrong station, and that is my fault. But to pick that out of everything I write is completely crazy.
And you are also wrong about at least Hannity. He is an Imus supporter. Maybe not Rush. Know Mark Levin will make a mention.
Thank you for attributing me as the “Man of the World”. But sadly I am not.
Have a great “Fool’s Day”
Ronrob…what exactly makes you think that the radiothon WON’T be embraced (or hasn’t already) by the brass at WABC and that ALL personalities at WABC won’t be “on board”?
Just wondering….
When WABC signed Imus…they knew well about the importance of the radiothon and the Imus Ranch.
Part of the package…I would think.
As far as WABC having control over all the radio personalities in their lineup…
…who wouldn’t participate…and why?
Maybe I’m missing something….
God almighty….I just was reading the comments at another Imus site….
…and I think they have all lost their minds.
It may be “quieter here”, but compared to what I read over there….
to be here…
“Priceless”.
Thanks to all the posters here that keep things civil, and a good place that gives some dignity to Imus…cause, that is what it is all about.
The Radiothon may be just the vehicle to introduce Imus to the listeners of the other programs. An Imus appearance on Curtis, Rush, Hannity, Levin, Grant, Ingraham would go a long way to establishing a programing thread. Or WABC provides local time during those broadcasts to Imus.
You are Correct ChannelXRFR,
The uninformed do not know the kindness of these individuals, even when they are in this Political mess.
We will see. But I know it will be one Spectacular program/programs.
Be sure I will have some great Higlights on either YouTube or Yahoo Videos.
And Now to my “NEW POLICY HERE”.
Those who can’t take the time to create an avatar are going to be “TOTALLY IGNORED”. With one exception.
If it is addressed to me in the first line. Then I shall respond in kind. Otherwise don’t bother speaking of your non-sense.
REE,
Thank you for speading my You Tube stuff on the other site. And if they don’t like them…OH welll. I do it for Imus Times and my own self satisfaction. Find it fun to do but also time consuming. Better then a PodCast in my humble opinion.
Great day April Fools day. No tricks were pulled on me “YET”.
I was thinking about what happened last year to the radiothon it would be cool if the radiothon got mentioned on Hannity and Colmes. I think they could have at least waited till the fund raiser was over last year before they fired him, I know I am not the only one. I think if Fox personalities mentioned it, there would be lots of goodwill and Fox is the highest rated cable news channel. That would be cool if this year people were kind and showed goodwill and mentioned the Radiothon. File under, people remember what is really important. Pay it forward 🙂
Bruce,
People need a good laugh that is why Imus is so popular. Alot of people who think everything have to be run through a PC filter don’t get it! First off this isn’t how humans work, they are most creative when they are not afraid or inhibited, now the movement is supposed to be progressive but there is nothing progressive about inhibiting human expression.
Americans are not an especially “Tame” lot and that is what the PC movement is for to tame us. The PC movement always makes me think of that old Joseph Stalin quote referencing Poland, he asked, how many battalions does the Pope have? He made the comment, that trying to make the Polish people Socialist was like trying to saddle a cow. Something similar is going on with Americans this PC Speech ect…it doesn’t fit Americans, we are not suited to the PC culture, we already have a culture American. I was reading, now Leno is in trouble for something not PC? Weird for a country that prides it self on Free Speech and Freedom of Expression.
Man for a few hours today I thought it was a new era and he was going to be an all right guy. Oh well….
Guess I’ll be ignored now because I chose not to watch cartoons.
When the moderator of this site emails me and tells me that cartoons are required, I shall comply.
I take orders on this site from noone else. I have done nothing to provoke this attack and am not intimidated by empty threats.
Too many people on two sites have caved in, and appeased this man as he has threatened physical actions against posters who disagree, and even once send an email to MSNBC hoping their studios burned to the ground while claiming to speak for all members of the site.
I’m telling the board managers right now…if a threat is made to ME as has been made to others, I will not appease. I will not laugh it off. I will take legal action if need be, against him and against any site that condones such behavior.
I don’t want a war, but I’m not going to be bullied either.
Hey Ree,
Maybe you can tell me what the heck is going on? MSNBC is under attack or what?
Didn’t hear that one.
Educate me Ree please
DJJack,
I have no cue what you are talking about. I saw no threat against you. All he said is he will be ignoring people without avatars.
Nor have I heard any of the rubbish you are rambling about.
Secondly don’t threaten legal action against this site or the people who run it. If you’re that bothered then just leave. You have no right to be on this site You are here at the site managers pleasure and nobody finds pleasure at being threatened by legal action.
Ive always been a big fan of your posts here and elsewhere but you were over the line on that one my friend.
Just my humble opinion
The Tuesday show on Imus didn’t give us a lot of Material to work with.. One Comedy skit and a long discussion over a Vitamin supplement “PROPAX” which turned into an almost 8 minute Commercial.
So here is my newest presentation which anyone is free to spread around from yesterday. Enjoy
Jeff Greenfield, laugh out loud funny!
Bruce,
Leno made a joke and apparently it wasn’t PC enough for someone? You know when people don’t like something they can turn the channel…apparently some folks are having trouble figuring out how the buttons on their remote work. This is America we don’t need people to filter what we hear.
Oh Spuds back insidecablenews.com he is using wordpress too so you don’t have to register again, my avatar of Linda Richman shows up when I comment.
http://insidecablenews.wordpress.com/
Tony too funny, did you all hear Imus this morning, that isn’t necessary Tony. I think Tony is holding up his and Bernie’s end while Bernie is off. Go Tony – Go Tony – Go Tony!
Tony has been on a roll the last couple of days… wheres Marvin ???
Bruce
Lupina posted this on Imus Truth.
http://www.usmagazine.com/glaad_jay_leno_owes_an_apology_to_fans_over_gay_remark
PTB,
As Iam also one of your biggest fans, I appreciate the comment and the rebuke.
You’re right….none of us have a right to be here. Guess I’m guilty of a bit of hyprocisy in that regard. Blaming the managers of this site for the lunatic actions of one of their posters is unfair, especially in such a free-form environment.
No sense in letting one nut ruin such a great site for me.
I apologize for letting my frustration get the better of me last night and ask for forgiveness.
OK DJ Jack,
Enough is enough. Are you calling me a lunatic? How about your term “NUT”?
Whatever medication you are on either start taking it or slow down on your dosages.
If you believe I was addressing you, the avatar-less guest here you are sadly mistaken. The words you say are insignificant so no need in discussing anything about anything of substance about you. My opinion
Next time you think it is wise to call a member, any member a Lunatic or a Nut. First Look in the Mirror.
That thing hanging off the end of your neck is empty.
So make points regarding Imus and the gang and not the individuals here.
And if you wish to continue I will surely reply.
Morning Ree,
I read about Leno over at Imus Truth and watched the 4:50 video and I didn’t see one thing that was not politically correct.
Leno makes upwards of 27 Million Dollars a year. His ratings are good. NBC would be fools to take action against him. But replying to the Gay Rights Alliance is a waste of breath.
And at no time did I think the actor in question look like he was seriously going to walk off the stage. This is how mis-information in print is exaggerated and create headlines.
Thanks Ree. Have a great day
Bruce
The people who are “Monitoring” don’t get that the people they target are entertainers and comedians (IITM is a blend of things it is a radio program)…they are simply trying to entertain people. What does it say about all of us, we think Imus delievery is the way the trend should go…now before everyone jumps, remember Imus did not invent Insult Comedy. One of the biggest Insult Comics right now is Lisa Lampenanelli forgive me if I spelled her name wrong…she doesn’t leave any rocks unturned and she is big across the board and welcomed on many different channels…so Jay Leno has to be chastized but Lisa is in the hay day of her career…how does that work?
For one thing, these people who complain know that Jay Leno is highly visable so if they complain about him, they will get press. It is alot of, notice me, notice me, talk about my axe, that I like to grind 🙂 It is all about getting attention. I don’t know why people want press so badly? In the old days and there is something to this wisdom, you only wanted your name to appear 3 times in the press, birth, marriage and death.
Inof on the Imus Ranch Golf event is now available – added the link on the top of the page.
The Steven A. Cox Classic has moved on. The charity now supports St. Judes Research Hospital and the “LPGA Pros in the fight to eliminalte breast cancer” LIFE. Have to say good luck to Mike Marion and to all the people responsible for the foundation.
Damn – almost couldn’t remember the password for this nic. Think I’ll keep it.
Bruce
Re “The Voice of the Boston Red Sox.”
Yes, I too heard Imus say it. But unlike you I realized the I-man was just regurgitating the smalltown station’s slogan, NOT identifying it as the flagship for the Red Sox Nation.
As to participation in the radiothon by Rush, Sean, Mark et al, the first two have a huge syndication network of stations which I’m sure will preclude giving over time to a local New York radiothon. Maybe WABC will forego some local commercial break time for “the cause.”
WFAN didn’t have the same problem, because IITM was their only syndicated show.
Did anyone get the phrase with which Tony as the South Asian answered the phone today? It completely broke up the I-man & the cast, but I couldn’t catch it, even with repeated playbacks. Tony’s accent was perfect, and the routine very funny, but I missed that one key phrase,
How did the Bill Richardson interview go?
Laree,
Your post #54 put me in mind of mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, leeches, and other opportunistic parasites that seek out bigger, stronger host-bodies they can latch onto and suck the blood out of without regard to anything other than their own drive to survive in their miserable, low-life existences for at least another day.
Well, I guess they’re all part of God’s Plan somehow to maintain the checks and balances of the universe.
More good news for those that believe HRC is “Satan”.
Not an Obama supporter, but will worry about that later as numero uno priority is to see the Clintonian/Entitlement machine stopped in it’s tracks.

Remember Paula Zahn on CNN? Gossip on her court battle with her soon to be ex-husband, Richard Cohen.
According to this article, Cohen was president of the co-op board that evicted Pale Male and Lola from their next of Fifth Avenue in 2004.
http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2007/09/07/2007-09-07_paula_zahn_blew_her_fortune_sez_hubby_ri.html
*Sorry, from their nest, nest, nest on Fifth Avenue…..
Regarding post 62…
from the same NYPost link:
” The release of six years of tax returns on Obama’s Web site made him the first 2008 presidential candidate to do so. His aides called for “transparency” and rapped rival Clinton for not releasing her returns from the post-White House years, when her husband has made millions in private investment deals.
Clinton said yesterday she hoped to put hers out “within the next week.”
Meanwhile…Bill Clinton is sweating…LOL. Wake me up when Hillary releases those documents. 😉
Harley…
“How did the Bill Richardson interview go?”
It was just fine. Here is Bill Richardson expounding upon his decision on who to endorse…from the Washington Post:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/04/01/AR2008040100885.html?hpid=opinionsbox1&hpid=topnews
Thanks donaldinks!
I thought that he would not go on because he is associated with the Obama campaign. Hope he didn’t catch any flack because of it.
No, actually Harley…Bill Richardson stated his position quite well. The link in post 66…Bill went into a great more detail on why he made the decision he made. Imus had some very kind words towards him…and his commitment to the ranch.
If you go to WABC…and scroll down to the recent interviews Imus has had with his guests…it is probably there. Maybe Bruce can put up a link on youtube or yahoo, and you can listen to it! Be well…. 🙂
Bella, I love the new avatar.
Frec, the MSM seems to encourage this leech behavior, this behavior reporting on every lit snit someone gets in if a big name is involved, it goes into the newscycle pile, to be recycled all day long. This doesn’t have to be the way the Media reports
(REAL NEWS) it choose to report this way titilation sensationalism. This is all about ratings..this is why people are trying to get an interview with Imus right now and he always turns the discussion to Dierdra and their children charities. Imus is directing them subtlety, instead of chasing the media hype (Obama’s position on Imus vs Rev Wright) and bag Imus for an interview, chase the substance- the state of childrens wellbeing in this country -something important. I think the Jeff Greenfield call was scripted, they knew what they were going to say 🙂 It is like Imus is making a public statement using Jeff Greenfield as the example. I bet he is getting deluged with interview request. Jeff Greenfield is so funny, they played the whole thing funny and gentle and as usual it is all about (I) centered world.
Bruce, I did catch Tony’s routine it was about taunting the Tiger at the San Fran Zoo. I believe his character was East Indian.
Frec,Lindainbluebell, mntherbal, I am guessing from this routine we can put Tiger down for Tony’s Indian Animal Totem 🙂
I didn’t think he was going to turn that joke about taunting the Tiger into a Tony the Tiger joke…That was pretty slick.
An Axe to grind, it occured to me everyone might not know what the phrase means. Boy alot of people had their Axes out last April!
Meaning:
If you have an axe to grind with someone or about something, you have a grievance, a resentment and you want to get revenge or sort it out. In American English, it is ‘ax’.
Hi Everyone,
Had a project today and haven’t had a chance to weigh in on the conversation.
Don’t have much to add to the great conversations you have all had today, but have been going over the material from Imus’ show today. And I am overwhelmed. Haven’t even gotten to Dick Cavett yet.
The other problem is YouTube is going to do maintenance at 10PM EDT tonight so comedy will be set aside. Will try to get up to Yahoo the interviews with McCain, Russert and Cavett if time permits.
Jeff Greenfield really made a point about “LOYALTY” which I shall publish too. It is quite an amazing show.
Carl Childress was very funny with his divorce from his Chicken Wife and getting custody of the 12 Kids. Two of whom are called, Easy and Over that he couldn’t bring because they were “Rotten”.
So maybe later or early morning I will be getting a few things up for you that you will not get on ABC’s podcasts. And will also publish all three of the main interviews on Yahoo.
Till later my friends.
There is not enough harping about this and it does mention Imus as it should it is an (I) centered world after all.

I was just thinking remember when they were all talking about who Bill Richardson looks like with that chin curtain – goatee. The first person I thought of was “Freddy Fender” wasted days and wasted nights…..
With reference to Ree’s link on comment 72. Here was my reply.
Thank you Ree
Bella,
Mr. & Mrs. Zahn-Cohen were upset because of the pieces that sometimes fell to the ground from the nest – pieces of rats that they were consuming like there was no tomorrow. Instead of being grateful that poisons weren’t being used and rats were being consumed, they pushed for the nest to be removed. They got what they deserved. Sorry, I’m very passionate about Pale Male and not a good Christian.
Laree,
Tony was hysterical today they way he turned it around from Tony Tiger to an Indian! LOL. I would like to hear that again.
Definitely a Tiger on the totem!
Whenever I hear anyone complain because they feel that they should not be offended by comedy routines as in tonight on the Factor the Jay Leno outrage he got a platform…so all these people that complain need to explain why Lisa Lampenelli an insult comic can do these routines on all the channels Bravo Bet and Comedy Central take a look at her bio this women is fearless and she draws crowds no one is complaining about her why not? well she isn’t as well known as Imus or Leno so you won’t be able to get into the news cycle with her…and then you have to explain her popularity with all the minorities talk about hypocrites…it is all about who they let make fun not about the content. White men forget about it you are always going to be stereotyped for being white men….remember bigotry and racism it is all about stereotypying people. Old saying “When you point one finger out you point three fingers towards yourself” by the way Lisa Lampennelli is highly sucessful insult comedian…if she were a white man, would she be so successful?
Lisa Lampennelli highly successful insult comic, these videos not for the timid. Lisa is excepted on all the channels above. I wish Imus and Leno would have her on because she won’t get critized too many people have to explain why she has such a big following and put on their specific channels.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lisa%20lampanelli&search=Search&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&spell=1
Great posts, everybody…though I have catching up to do on some of the links, and I didn’t get to hear Tony today…hope that will be on a podcast or something…does Paula Zahn’s husband have the same name as Meredith Viera’s husband? ..that just struck me…I haven’t googled for an answer which I suppose I could do later if I feel like it… Nite y’all 🙂
Harley — I answered you on imustruth re: the Bill Richardson interview, although I saw it through a “different pair of glasses’ than donaldlinks.”
and, yes, the interview is posted at wabcradio..very cool, those wbacradio podcasts!
I fell back asleep listening to McCain , and so I’m going to try again in a few minutes over at wabc. Bruce, I do check out your youtubes quite often. Thanks for the work on those. I have quite a few youtube clips on one of my favorite film stars, and those take a lot of time, yet the rewards are good too.
Imus had mentioned a few days back that the picture of Richardson and Clinton watching the superbowl together looked like it had been taken at a trailer. I don’t don’t have any problems with trailers but the vision of a former president and a current governor watching the Superbowl in a trailer somewhat cracked me up.. LOL…Imus asked Richardson during the interview where the photo was taken, and Richardson said “at the governor’s mansion in Santa Fe.”… LOL
Last night I listened to the CLASSIC IMUS, Barnicle Under Fire ,August 6 1998. I’m sure most of you know all the Barnicle background, but I didn’t. It was a fascinating show. Imus truly stood by his friend while acknowledging that he had been careless. When Barnicle called in to explain his side of the story regarding the Carlin book and the column, it was an agonizing listen. Well, that was 10 years back but seemed like “now” when I was listening. It seems after some investigating, that there was also some controversy about a story that Barnicle had written about two separate families whose children were dying of cancer. Well, I don’t know the whole scope or scoop, but I have a sort of general idea of what happened and a somewhat better view of the Imus/Barnicle relationship.
Here are the Three Imus Interviews Today April 2, 2008 on Yahoo Video’s. No special effects. But includes John McCain, Tim Russert and Dick Cavett.
It is quite long 42 plus minutes. But if interested you can listen to them all in one flow.
http://video.yahoo.com/watch/2305381/7247594
Thanks, Bruce. I listened to all three tonight at the above link you gave, and it was very convenient to have them all in a row.
And now is the Carl Childress Montage of his “Domestic Problems”
Enjoy. Short but sweet in my opinion.
You are welcome Ginger. And to all spread the link around. I do not care if you give me credit for it. But the more the merrier.
Great day Everyone. Now it’s time to go to bed. More tomorrow.
I have an avatar, I just don’t know if it shows…so that is why I post. Good Thursday all! 🙂
Mika has become a big obama apologist. I watch both Morning Joe and Imus daily (DVR), and I am stunned to hear myself state that I have become a Joe fan. Today, he totally went against the MSNBC party line (as did Willie) and pointed out that Obama’s indicating that you should consider a person’s entire scope of work (Wright), was not consistent with his call for Imus to be fired last year for 2 seconds worth of words. What about Imus’s body of work! Willie agreed. Joe may drive me nuts with his talking over people, but I am beginning to view him as more watchable than the new PC Imus. I have been an Imus fan since 1997 on MSNBC. He has got to move on.
Rockytrail728
I don’t watch MSNBC have not watched MSNBC since last April when Imus was fired and they made hay over his firing for ratings. No I won’t start watching MSNBC it is a 3rd rate news cable channel….well it thinks it is a news cable channel.
If I want News I have countless channels to choose from in the morning why on earth would I watch MSNBC? In fact Marty Davis (Chickaboomer) was blogging about Keith Olbermann’s lastest ratings and they are not so good and that is MSNBC’s “Star”…..so I guess I appreciate you trying to keep those people working but I am not going to watch MSNBC. I don’t even have curiousity about Mourning Joe…you know why? A markerter can tell you and I left this message everywhere last April…”It takes 21 days to make anything a habit, I have new habits” I don’t watch MSNBC anymore….I don’t miss it. The Management at NBCU is really incompetent they thought they were going to rehab or replace a whole segment of their “viewers” we moved on.
Given what happened to Imus, David Shuster and lately Jay Leno if you are a white male you are expected to “Apologize” if you are Rev Jeremiah Wright, you may proclaim as many times as you like “God Damn America” and insult a country full of people and never have to apologize. Hypocrisy? Racism and Bigotry, yeah but Nobody says anything about NBCU’S track record.
So Willie pointed out the disparity btw Obama’s position on Imus and Rev J Wright…well why wouldn’t he “This is being discussed in the news cycle” The only two personalities on MSNBC I still like is Tucker and Willie, not enough to watch MSNBC.
Yeah MSNBC it is so popular NOT!
Why can’t the people at GE figure out who they have in charge at NBCU are not getting the job done?
http://chickaboomer.blogspot.com/2008/04/msnbc-place-for-polemics.html
MSNBC is locked out on the ChanX Tee Vees. Threw away the key April’07. No turning back, not even for curiosity sake.
Oddly enough find myself checking in on I-Favs; FOX News, FOX Business etc.to keep up with the show.
ChannelXRFR,
Check my comments on Imus Truth it looks like cheerleaders for NBC and MSNBC showed up they are using different signs ons posing as I fans or real I fans? They don’t talk about Imus they seem to like Kathy Lee Gifford…puleeze IITM was making jokes about How the Today show couldn’t add a 5th hour because the U.S. took a position on Torture. Charles is so funny I read the crawl.
What in the world has happened to Imus Truth. Used to be some fun posters over there to banter with, eg; just one more clock baby, one more clock. I used to like it because it was generally more light hearted with more humor than this site and was not so “serious” about everything.
Now there seem to be many new folks with strange agendas. Not sure what’s up, but it’s painful to even try and keep up with any of it. Too bad.
avatarless,
It goes in waves on Imus Truth it turned into a kind of internet lounge and it depends what time of the day you show up. I do think Imus Truth gets lots of lurkers some people commenting don’t know it isn’t just the topic getting read many times people will follow threads and not comment. Other times you have drop ins with agendas..we get people who didn’t like what happened to Curtis and Kuby…we got people who checked in because of the comparison of Obama’s postions he took on Imus and Rev J Wright…then you have all the Imus Fans. I keep telling people the internet is huge and it is filled with stuff.
I push back at this PC speech fashion it needs to be shown the door it is in the way of alot of people enjoying themselves.
Did you check out Lisa Lampenelli, omg talk about not PC? I posted above link.
Hey rockytrail728, (post #87)
I saw that this morning, too. I was so glad that Joe said that. Didn’t hear what Mika said. Was it silly?
harleyquinn92
Actually, I do not remember her reacting much. I have already deleted the show. You know she normally does that silly, cutesy act of hers trying to shoosh him. I notice from recent posts that some of these people are upset by supposed plants from MSNBC. My criticisms of Imus and positive comments of Joe surprise even me (as well as all of my friends). By the end of last summer, most of them told to me move on and get over my anger at MSNBC and the other idiots making Imus into the Doctor Hate. I am normally left of center and historically cringe at Imus’s attacks on Hillary, but I loved the show. I simply hate to see him (or any person compromise himself this much). Yes, I know he has a plan, but we all know how scathing his views would have been of someone putting up with the selective hands off approach he has now or bending over backwards. He and Chris M. can share the preparation H.
Ree,
I may have sent you this or have not. But the animal rights site I belong to can be found here.
http://www.defenders.org/index.php
Maybe you already belong.
And in a different subject. I do hope this site doesn’t become an Imus Truth Site. Will say there are some good opinions over there. But most of it is truly ridiculous in my opinion. Please don’t attack my views on them. We all know who is not in Control over there. The nameless site administrator. Think he/she are like the “Banker” on Deal or No Deal. Never see them. But just know they are around.
Enough about them.

No surprise here, Imus is enormously successful on WABC. Eric Deegans reporting on Imus interviewed Phil Boyce, WABC General Manager – A Year Later…

Harley…maybe so…(in regard to post 98).
Many people have discovered that Don Imus has a “new show” and is committed to what he stated he would do with the show upon his return.
What really gets into my mind, people who have been long listeners of Imus, can’t accept change…or accept what he truly wants to accomplish for the remainder of his career.
I have witnessed many comments, at some sites, that couldn’t wait for Don Imus to return, now turning their backs on him.
People evolve. People learn from mistakes. Many people could learn a hard lesson from Don Imus.
People do evolve. So do their careers.
Imus has done me proud…although maybe I am in the minority…
…but my hat goes off to him, his convictions, honesty and steadfastness.
It’s great, for me at least, to see him return with a new format and a great show.
I really am proud of the courageous steps he personally took to make a difference.
I have witnessed anger, racist comments, and nonsensical mind-sets that will not accept change. They are about “what THEY want”…and frankly are set into the “old mold” of, “Hey, it’s all about ME”. Well, times are changing. New voices are being heard.
Change is not an evil or horrible thing. People get set into their ways of living, thinking and doing things.
To move forward, to move together to solve many of the major problems in the world starts right inside of our minds.
It starts by listening, talking, discussing…and then working to make the necessary changes to make things better for all.
And WE are the ALL that benefit. UNITED we stand, DIVIDED we fall.
Speaking for myself, being constantly divided has not helped anyone. I am not advocating that we become as “sheep and follow”.
It’s a fast changing world out there…due mostly to technology. People can rant, kick their feet and scream as a 2 year old human being would…but change we must.
We are… what we have absorbed throughout our lives By our parents. Past friends. What we have read, have been taught, and what we have witnessed in our short span of a life.
The core of all human beings is our most innermost soul: that is what we have to confront (or should) on a daily basis in our lives… and what matters most.
That…and truth and honesty.
Sorry for the long post… 😉
Donaldinks: You never have to say you’re sorry about what you post – long or short – you’ve always been the voice of reason on ths site. 🙂
Donald Inks,
I like the new avatar. I think it is time for some new mike myers, let me stroll through my catalog 🙂
Many of you were talking about Jeff Greenfield on Imus. Well I finally put this little thing together.

Hi Ree,
BTV was no friend of mine. And I did notice she hasn’t posted on the other IT. She really never says anything of importance in my opinon. So this Canadian should stay in her Country.
Sorry if I sound sour on her, but think she has a lot to learn.
Many of you have asked about the Interview Imus had with Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico. Remember he endorsed Obama instead of Clinton. Well that’s fine with me. My opinion.
But here is the visual representation of this interview. No special effects or other grandiose editing with a few exceptions.
So for those that like to see something while they are listening. Here it is.

Swing down, Sweet Chariot

Comin’ for to carry me home.
Donald,
AMEN!
I’m not even seeing that big a change in the show, if any.
Bernie is on every day contributing his wisecracks.
Rob is doing his comedic essays.
The only differences are A) a couple of new comedians, one good (Tony) and one not-so-much (Karith)
B)the topics of the interviews have changed a tad. An occassional race relations discussion mixed in with the politics and sports.
C)the studio.
Change happens…change happened. WFAN and MSNBC don’t have an Imus show anymore. Wishing they did doesn’t help. It’s gone. I miss M*A*S*H but it ain’t comin back either. 😉
DJJACK,
People who watch and listen to Imus, think it is just a trend with him -the race discussion that he is over covering the topic. We have a serious contender for the White House a person of color and Imus is not the only one discussing race. This is going to go on, I believe until we all vote next November. People think it is unusal for Imus to be covering the subject so much but that isn’t the case everyone is covering it more. I think Imus is getting interesting guest to discuss the subject. Debra Dickerson has an interesting personality..she isn’t dull.
I guess what I am saying while all the other talkers and cable news people are covering the subject of race because Obama is running for President. What should Imus be covering? He isn’t on WFAN anymore that was Sports he is on 77WABC so he is going to talk “current issues” Everyone hasn’t gotten used to the transition.

Ree,
I guess all of this is easier for me to take because I always knew Imus would be back. Even this time a year ago, I knew he’d be back. He simply made too much money for his advertisers to be gone for very long. SOMEBODY was going to hire him.
I patiently waited through the summer because I knew he was going to focus on the ranch and not the radio. I bet he LOVED not having to get up at three thirty in the morning to be on the air.
Then when fall came around, he came back to New York and got down to business.
I think you’re right…people are seeing new faces and new guests on the show and reacting in a hostile manner. “Imus has gone PC” “Imus is scared” “Bernie has been chained”. I respectfully disagree with those statements, and will repeat what I have asked others (not you Ree, obviously) so many times on the other site:
If you are unhappy with the Imus in the Morning show, why do you listen?
I have heard your complaints…repeatedly…so I just want to know why you continue to listen?
Personally, I *love* the new show and hope someday to do a show even half as interesting and entertaining as Imus in the Morning. He joins Steve Allen on my short list of broadcasing idols.
Gosh..I’m rambling now. Methinks I’ll shut up for a bit.
DJJack,
You asked why those of us unhappy with the current state of IITM still listen. Let me try to explain:
I’ve listened to Imus since the late 70’s – right after his return to WNnnnnnnnBC after his banishment to Cleveland. I remember Moby Worm, Geraldo Santanabanana, through the change from NBC to the ‘FAN, more politics less ass jokes, sobriety, marriage, a child, the Ranch. Then came “the 3 words”. Suspension, firing, controversy, and ultimately, return.
I am with those who think the show is now overly “PC”, that Bernie is muzzled, that Karith and Tony were hired for one reason and one reason only – and I won’t use “that word” in describing them. But yet, most mornings, I dutifully turn on my local radio affiliate at 6:05 AM to hear who today’s guests will be, and to gauge today’s Imus Attitude. If Imus is torqued off over something/one, and he’s in his “we’re not happy till you’re not happy” moods, then I stick around, ’cause a cranky Imus can be a hilarious Imus. If, OTOH, he’s holding back, everyone’s “fine”, and sounding on the verge of doing a groupsing of “Kumbaya, then it’s off to sports radio for me – until it’s time for an interview.
To this day, through all of the controversy, I will still claim that there are few interviewers in any media form that are better than Don Imus. Whether it’s a ball busting back and forth with Mike Lupica, or a hard core political analysis with Michael Beschloss, an Imus interview is like no other.
Why do we listen, you asked ? For those moments of brilliance, be it Bernie’s Cardinal (never one of my favorite bits BTW) or Charles verbally bitch slapping Imus, or Imus just letting rip with a hearty “Eat me !”, or Craig Crawford sitting around with Imus and Charles – as happened yesterday – jest batting around the political landscape.
Those moments *seem* to be happening more and more lately, and moments that cause me to change to Sox Talk less and less. I think back to when Imus said something to the effect of “just hang in there with me ….. I know what I’m doing.”
With fingers firmly crossed, I’m hanging.
Have been with Imus since he first arrived at WNBC; through the good, bad and ugly. If it is possible to concur with both DjJack and FuschiaGodess, have to say I do.

Great posts, fuschiagoddess and djjack!
Whatever your points of view, it’s obvious you both love Imus and aren’t about to give up on the show!
Long time fans are not going to give up listening. They just want Imus to be free to be Imus, the Imus we know and love. If what you call 37 plus years of listening to a crazy, creative druggie now sober curmudgeon…” Love”. I do.
Nowadays, there are times I switch to news because, frankly, Imus is “Whittaker Chamber-ing” the race conversation to death. It is a conversation that is sadly one sided, imo. I don’t hear anyone, save Tavis Smiley or Gil Noble even venturing into the discussion on such a regular level. There is much more to the world than trying to save a portion of it for those who refuse to engage. Imus can handle topics, use them, be funny with them.
He has the cast, let them be funny. If you muzzle those who were hired to be funny, it will show, so allow the creativity to flow.
Just one more yuk, baby, just one more yuk.
queenpat – I agree with you, however, we don’t know what Imus promised to the Rutgers team. For all we know, he could have promised to talk about race for the rest of his time on the radio. I, for one, am getting tired of it. I think he is “preaching to the choir”, if you know what I mean!

Oprah on Tuesday:
http://oprahsthings.blogspot.com/2008/04/this-week-on-oprah.html
I am sure WABC has all the podcasts of the interviews Don Imus had yesterday. Well I have all three together with a lead out.
This is not for the casual viewer though. This presentation is over 52 minutes long and includes Douglas Brinkley, Louise Patterson and Jesse Jackson. With that special Warren Zevon song at the end.
So if you want to note the existence of it and listen to it another time or maybe next year. It is there at Yahoo. And remember “IMUS IS A RADIO SHOW”. No fancy graphics etc. Only took me 7 hours to put it together. But I loved every bit of those 7 hours. I do it for you all. And my own selfish habit of control and manipulation LOL.
http://video.yahoo.com/watch/2315949/7277247
Here is my interpretation of many people here and elsewhere that think that Don Imus will forever discuss “Race Relations”.
One of the promises JD Imus made when he returned to the airwaves to make an effort to discuss race issues when they came up. Also be more sensitive on the “putting down of all minorities”. And I am not just talking about African/Americans either. You can be any color and be another kind of minority. Being overweight or obese is one of them.
Yesterday was kind of a History lesson for many people. It was refreshing to say the least. And yes some parts were boring. Only one true Comedy Skit, but all in all was something that only he, J D Imus can do. So if you tuned out and missed some of the banter between interviews, you missed a great program.
As Mr. T said. ” I PITY THE FOOL “. And that’s a joke everyone so don’t get all riled up.
‘Posted this on IT. Interesting.

Harley,
Vivien Stringer has shown herself, over and over, to be nothing more than a self-serving fraud. With her book coming out, it’ll be more of the same. And don’t you DARE call her out on it, ’cause then you’re a racist. When she partnered up with another self-serving fraud – Al Sharpton – we saw the destruction of IITM. I watched her interview on “Real Sports” a few weeks back and had to keep hitting the Pause button, so I could scream into a pillow. Watta effin’ fraud.
Bruce,
You said Imus is to be “more sensitive on the “putting down of all minorities”. Okay ….. so why is Rob still doing “Don Corleone” ? Many Italians find depictions of mobbed up men being Italian to be offensive, because it can lead one to think that all Italo-American men are in the mafia. (Remember how pissed people were at “The Sopranos” ?)
You also mentioned being “overweight or obese” ….. so, no more referring to former President Bill Clinton as a “fat pantload” ? No more “Tubby Timmy” Russert ?
Jest askin’ ……
Maybe Imus should just give up on the comedy completely and go for a four hour long talk show just to be sure no one is offended, with at least three hours devoted exclusively to race. He probably still would show up on Media Matters for something, I have no doubt.
Meant to be a sarcastic statement, but not entirely.
OK so those are Public figures and they run Comedy skits which are far from over the edge.
Don Corleone is not offensive to Italian American’s. He is playing a part from the God Father. You don’t find that funny? And whether you found the “Soprano’s” funny or not is was an award winning HBO show. So I do not see the Italian Defamation league coming out surrounding the studio.
And Bill Clinton is a “fat Pantload”. Don’t see anyone saying anything about that. “The Tubby Timmy” remark doesn’t stop Tim Russert from coming on.
What I was talking about is what he use to to say about Chris Carlin/Sports Person at WFAN. The chit chat about fat people or plump people is few and far between. If you can’t take a joke don’t listen.
All in all the show is toned down. But still is the best thing you can get on Radio and TV at 6AM.
These are my opinions. So do not take them personally.
Good Day Fushia.
And speaking of Tubby Timmy, I’m watching him now — with god is not great Hitchins and some guy who is blinded by the light called Obama.
Bruce,
Thanks for the response. 🙂 AFA some Italians not being upset over “The Sopranos”, go to Google and put in “Sopranos” and “defamation”. Trust me, there were some upset people. (I live in a state with a large Italo-American population, and there were some issues here.) And, me …. offended ? Heck, no !! Trust me, _I_ can take a joke …. (I’m both Blonde *and* Polish) that’s why I’ve listened for lo these many years. But, the yuks are few and far between now. (Chris Carlin *was* fat, so I don’t get the issue with that.) I’m just saying that _I_ don’t see the need to “tone down” the show.
I take no opinions personally, Bruce. I hope you have a good day as well ….. if Da Sox win today, it’ll be a good day for me. (As long as Jacoby “Taco Boy” Ellsbury learns how to catch the BALL …… !!)
To quote QueenPat: “just one more yuk, baby ….. just one more yuk !”
Thank you Fushia….But whether the Italo-American communites got their panties in a bunch, it didn’t stop the Sopranos from being popular.
Enough on this subject. Just a little insight on how I feel about the new “IMUS IN THE MORNING”. Since I read the negatives that are un-warranted. Believe those people do not know where the tuning knob is.
Even the Deggans fellow says the show is better than ever in New York and that Imus has regained more than half is original affiliates back. So someone must like the show.
And I do hope the Red Sox win. The Yankees are getting a little bit much lately. Paying A-Rod 28 Million a year is a bit over the line.
Thanks for your valid opinion. Though I may tend to disagree.
Maybe the reality is somewhere in between. Imus has spoken of “innocents” and people who “did not deserve it.”
Not to imply that Tubby Timmy deserves it, hmmmmmm…..
Imo, the tone has changed in that the humor is being aimed more at the stereotypes of the stereotypes. That is why I disagree with the “one reason only” theory. We’d be idiots if we didn’t think Imus is using Karith and Tony as “cover.” However, imo, Tony hilariously pokes fun (npi) at black stereotypes. No, Bernie is not doing it any more, Tony is. Are we subtly making another point here?
We were not as lucky as some of you and could not access Imus until MSNBC. (Just books and tapes.) But it appears he has changed with the times and age and will continue to do so. The fluidity has improved vastly since Dec. and Bernie’s roll seems to be carefully evolving. Fortunately we are being treated with more of that quick, wonderful wit with every week that passes. It only seems prudent to proceed with caution.
Tony can be funny but he talks a little fast for me and I sometimes miss the punchline. Tony doing the same material that Bernie could be doing, does that strike me the wrong way? Yes. What are we saying with that? Same words. In a very pc sort of way it emphasizes the double standard and hypocrisy, and I always counted on Imus to cut through the hypocrisy.
But that’s just my opinion and counts for absolutely nothing. 🙂
Bellalu0,
While I definitely agree with some of your fine opinions and yours, mine and ours combined with $2 won’t buy us a gal of gas anymore, I think you are making my point.
“it emphasizes the double standard and hypocrisy”
Methinks it is just a different pair of scissors.
BTW, I’d love to see a matchup of Tony and Bernie. That would be a battle of wits that Bruce could command a pretty price for.
Bruce – Over at WABC their posting negatives about the Iman again, saying he agreed with Wright and whites don’t get it, Also, he agreed with j. jackson that 9/11 was caused by us. There also saying he should be fired. I know you have been able to squash their lies before, and thought you could revisit the site. Thanks!
goiman, what’s the link to WABC where they’re posting negatives?
Alison this is the link http://forums.hannity.com/showthread.php?t=611223
thanks alison!!
Goiman,
Thank you for the heads up. I am a member of that site also. So I just gave them a taste of their own “HOWARD STERN” BS that they always preach.
I gave them the audio of the three interviews. And Imus never agreed with Jackson about 9/11. If he did, I would be angry.
Also told them that if Curtis and Kuby could match what Imus has done, they would really have something to claim victory for. But no one is taking Sliwa very serious in syndication or affiliates. He may be strong. But his double talk poetic crap has people confused.
WAY TO GO BRUCE!!!!
Before we all go out or to sleep for the night I would like to mention that Hannity site. The thread you gave me was different then the one I belong to.
But the biggest Pain in the Butt is Stuball. If you sign up and have time listen to the junk he posts about “CURTIS AND KUBY” and the “HOWARD STERN IS KING” junk.
Well I am sure many of you do listen to Howard. But what he is on Satellite radio (Remember this is my opinion), is an over paid “SLUT TRADER” and couldn’t make it on terrestrial radio and be a succesful now. As he wasn’t, back when he was fired. Yes this man continues to denigrate Imus and how he is nothing compared to him.
Mel Karmazin is paying him $500 Million Dollars for a 10 year contract and takes 30 more million in cash yearly according to some reports. Now if he is worth that, Imus is worth more than 5 Million.
Enough tonight about that stuff. But keep pounding them if you get the chance. They will eventually stop when they see the facts instead of sounding off on un-true statements.
Channel knows what I am talking about.

Good, Goiman,
But do not waste too much time on people who are ill-informed.
If Channel get’s a whiff of this he will say something to them. Him and I use to double team them. They eventually changed their tune. But remember this Goiman. None of the Curtis and Kuby supporters listen to or have listened to Imus. They call him the “MUMBLER”.

Larry Kenney is very funny and one of the main reasons I began to listen to Imus over a decade ago. Say what you will, the man lost his job because he is white (too many white guys) and they needed to add some black talent. Not saying the Tony and Karith are not talented, but a fact is a fact. Too bad, I miss him.
Does Mr. Deegans have an Imus fetish?
(Imus fans have sent links to clips from his show today, in which he interviewed Jeese Jackson about King’s death. They quite rightly point out it’s the kind of racial discussion I’ve been calling for. Here’s the clip)
http://blogs.tampabay.com/media/2008/04/coincidence-of.html
ENJOY!
My opinion of Larry Kenney was not out of the dislike for him. It just may not have been in the budget.
Mr. Kenney as most of you know replied to me and many others when writing. Imus had to make choices. Rob Bartlett is always there. Larry Kenney may not have been available 5 days a week.
Tony and Karith do have talent. Tony has a better delivery of his essays. Karith meanders around and can be a little boring sometimes. But the two together (Tony and Karith) make a good team.
Would take an act directly from Farid Suleman for her to be replaced by another. And Imus searched high and low for the best of the best. And these are who he chose. I rely on I-Mans opinion. Not anyone elses.
If anyone is interested in the Craig Crawford Interview and the Carl Bernstein Interview, I have compiled the three parts of Crawford’s and Mr. Bernstein’s into one thirty minute audio presentation on Yahoo Video’s. These were originally broadcast on Thursday 04/03/08
This is not a fancy presentation with effects or anything special. We all know that Imus is a Radio Program first and then a TV show. The first few minutes are some Imus fake News and Warner Wolf’s quick recap of sports.
So if you are interested it is here.

Thank you for indulging me in my little projects.
Hey, good for you Bruce in your response to insidecablenews (harley’s link)…thanks for the link, Harley .. post 157
Fred was just on and he was hysterical!!! I love Fred!!!! Thanks Fred for the great laughs!!!!!!!!!
1000% agreed, goiman !!!! Fred totally rocked it this AM !! They need to put him back in the “power rotation” of frequent guests.
Now THAT’S comedy !
Glad to hear you agree fuschiagoddess!!
Fred’s 15 minutes of nonsense.. Program could use more of it!!!
Glad to see ? you channelXRFR. Have you been to WABC lately? They are, once again, ranking on the Iman. Could use you to straighten them out!
Good Afternoon everyone.
Will get you all the comedy today. Plus the Fred Interview which was hilarious.
Also will do the Two other Inteviews with Dietl and Cavuto on Yahoo Video.
Hope you enjoy them. Sure beats Big PodCasts that you have to wade through.
I thought that Warner Wolf was so funny on Friday, I understood that Imus was trying to set the serious tone for the day which was appropriate…but don’t you think over on the 77WABC side the sports side, they all were playing around a little? I love that line do you know how they could tell the cyclist was using steroids, they could tell because she had to shave her beard…it was like that all day when Warner Wolf would come on air…too funny. Imus should be happy at least Warner didn’t take his shirt off.
Look who showed up on Not Another Imus Blog,
http://getoffmyphone.blogspot.com/2008/04/go-see-rob-and-tony.html
I am catching up on Imus in the Morning and listening to Please,Please Baby -Dwight Yoakam “The Very Best of Dwight Yoakam. Hillbilly Deluxe.
ChannelX,
Orac is here commenting on this guy’s blog, calling Deirdra stupid…what are the chances this guy is a sockpuppet of Orac’s? I mean he is claiming there is the group ofthem that know how wrong she is maybe he is just mulitiplying himself to make himself look like many? The reason I won’t take anything these people- person, write serious is because of the constant personal attacks on the Imus’ serious people don’t stoop to personal attacks. This is a very clumsy attempt only the newbie to the internet would fall for most of this ranting if they came across it. I think Autism is too serious a condition to be used as flaming, to start an internet flame war.

Oh My God!!! Did you guys see O’Reilly? Debra Dickerson and Larry Elder were on! O’Reilly listed the people who were UNFAIRLY called racists and Imus was one! O’Reilly also called out the TOP race baiter and guess who it was???? Our own Mr. Deggans!!!! His big old picture flashed across Fox News!!! Guess he has the fame he wants now! Expect another article soon! Please catch the show again at 11:00pm EST!!!!!
Kinky is on, too and he just mentioned Don Imus. Juan Williams is on and talking about Rev. Wright.
This is the ONLY mention I’ve seen of this on the net:

Before I begin listening to today’s show I just wanted to get this off my chest.
Posters here and also on the other IT site are saying that Imus is overly Politically Correct (PC) to make it easier to understand.
What I cannot understand is this. Imus changed for the better. Just because he doesn’t attack everything and anything doesn’t make him PC. He is growing by the day and week. He is getting his old affiliates back and more and more sponsors are jumping on the Imus Cash Train.
So if you are one of those that feel this way. Don’t hold back. Let it hang out here. Where we are truly a free speech site. Not selectively censored by a nut who runs the other site.
And my good friend Ginger I say this with much respect. Do you think it is wise to agree with that Brian? He needs a good kick in the butt. And if she showed his little crap rants here he would get a good one. You can tell him that for me.
OK …. My rant is over and 6 minutes to the Imus feed.
Well after 15 hours I have finished my digesting what is important from yesterdays Imus.
These are the last two interviews with Neil Cavuto and Bo Dietl. This is simple in graphics, but remember Imus is really an Radio Show. So if you want to listen to Cavuto and Dietl (Out of Order) due to song out bumper on Dietl’s clip.

I think someone better post something soon or this will be the Bruce site. LOL
HEY WE GOT NOTICED!!!!!

ENJOY!
Ree, Those science guys (Orac and Co) bring me back to my college days. There was always a small crowd who would sit in the corner of the dining hall and embarrass all of us in the Science and Engineering Department with weird, juvenile, obnoxious, foul mouthed behavior. Funny thing is they have a lot of science to back their positions. However, little gets through the juvenile nonsense.
HQ, Heard Elder and Dickerson would be guests on the Factor so I tuned in. Very interesting O’Reilly calling Deegans out! IMO Debra J is much better on Imus then O’Reilly. Nonetheless enjoyed her and Elder.
Jeremiah Wright controversy is not going away soon. As Bill O’Reilly and others continue to spin and spin it. Click | Here
I’m way behind because I haven’t had a chance to come here the past few days.
So a belated thank you to Ginger and avatarless. BTW avatarless, hope you find your skis. 😉
Fuchsia, thank *you* as well. We obviously disagree because I’m not noticing anything PC about Imus in the Morning, but we can both agree about what’s truly important. Imus on a bad day is better than anyone else on a good day.
Not only am I way behind on this site, I’m way behind on podcasts on the other. So I have a busy couple of nights ahead of me, but…..ooooo I can’t wait. 🙂
ChannelX,
Debra Dickerson is better on Imus because he lets her speak 🙂 Remember Friday when Karith said to Imus after Jesse Jackson spoke, she said, I have not heard him speak that way before…Imus it’s because unlike Chris Matthews, I let him speak. Imus because it isn’t about me. Explaining that when people like Chris Matthews interviews someone it is all about him and he constantly interupts and tries to play gotcha ect…I had this discussion with Marty Davis on Chickaboomer, I pointed out regulars MSNBC folks or guest get treated this way by Chris Matthews, he is establishing pecking order constantly…he is the alpha male so when he does this it really doesn’t have anything to do with the guest or the subject. He’s is the big dog and he is going to let them all know it.
Now O’Reilly isn’t quite as bad as Matthews but he knows the tricks to shape the segment in his direction to get maxium appeal for his positions. One guest that O’Reilly has on that I wish Imus would have on is Mark Temple, he thinks so fast on his feet and he is deferential to women, when he is on you can tell this man was raised right. Now Mark Temple was one of the men who stated that Imus needed to be off air for at least a year as punishment…and we all had this discussion on Support Imus…when do private citizens believe they have the right to punish another private citizen or a public figure, I mean that is something to wrap your head around. The reason I like Mark Temple is because I have watched him, he can jump in and think on his feet, he gets O’Reilly’s style and he knows how to play. I also have watched him when Michelle Malkin was on and because of her style and she is a woman, he was so less combative or in a hurry it really was alot better experience listening to him, when Michelle Malkin was hosting…so I thought about it, I really truly believe that Mark Temple’s positon on Imus was because he thought he was protecting women from someone he precieved as a bully. I think he would be a very good guest and that would be an interesting discussion….he is personalble and defies stereotyping, well in my opinion. Out of all the people who were commenting and complaining On NHH soundbyte,Mark Temple came from the real man position, he was I think, looking out for women…it is like Bernie said, (paraphrasing) on Hannity & Colmes I think Sean Hannity asked him how he felt if he wanted to apologize and Bernie said, I have a daughter I would kick somebody’s teeth in for talking about my daughter. Mark Temple I put him down under the real man column, I would listen to him long before Eric Deegans.
This man is trying to get page hits…if anyone is an opportunist this person is puleeze transparent or obvious not subtle. Exploitative, you choose your faovrite adjective.

If anyone wants to watch either the Kinky/Juan Williams or Dickerson/Elder segments on O’Reilly, they’re available here:
http://www.newshounds.us/
This morning, I had to take a pass on a good chunk of the show. In my corner of the world, an interview with Curt Schilling trumps Michael Graham and the Clark chicks … especially on the morning of the Red Sox home opener. 🙂
,,,, and Eric Deegans needs a steaming hot cup of STFU.
Mr. Deggans thinks that he is the end all be all. He and Rev. Al need to go sit down somewhere! Who put them in charge?
Understand that Mr Deegan doesn’t think of himself as a race baiter. However, what Mr Deegan doesn’t acknowledge is his “status as chair of the Media Monitoring Committee for the National Association of Black Journalists” puts him in front of the race baiting parade. In effect Mr Deegan is put in the position of shilling for the likes of Rev Sharpton!

I’d like to thank all of the readers of this blog who have visited my Blog today, The Hudson Line, at http://thecanessacorner.blogspot.com.
The blog is a very Imus-friendly spot, as this page is, and this week, each day, I am taking a look back at what happened a year ago to the I-Man. I hope you’ll check back in each day for something fresh and new.
Tomorrow, I publish a column I wrote on how it is Imus who gets things most — and how many of his so-called accusers are the ones who never got it, and still don’t get it today.
Again, many thanks!

Re: Post 176
I’m not sure I know what you are “talking” about, Bruce. I did say “good rant” to Brian over at IT..and that’s all I meant, good rant… it doesn’t mean I particularly agreed with him.
And if you are inferring that I’m agreeing with Brian about how Imus’ show is not the same, etc… well, that’s not true. I love Imus’ new show and I’ve always expressed that. I have never, to my knowledge, criticized his show since he’s been back. I’m just so happy he’s back.
I don’t have anything against Brian. I haven’t had any reason to at this point. And I say this “with much respect” , Bruce…if I think it’s wise to agree with Brian, I will and if I don’t think it’s wise, I won’t.
Ginger,
I said what I said because Brian has some very strange ideas. And did preface my remark to you with
So I do respect your opinion. But do not necessarily agree with Brian and anyone who follows his “RANTS” and sometime put downs on the new show.
Let it go. It was a comment made after 15 hours of working on presentations. And get very irritated at this person Brian. But if I hold grudges against our good commenters here it would truly be non-productive.
Good Day Ginger. Don’t let it bother you.
