Imus NetJets to ranch, Mark Simone to fill in.
Mark Simone (left) with Satan (in red)
Mark Simone on his regular WABC Saturday Morning Program announced he will be sitting in for Imus. The guest host gig is for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (June 2 – June 4).
Note: On his Saturday Morning Program (5/32/08 ) Simone hosted I-Favs; Patrick Buchanan, Jonathon Alter and Frank Rich.
ChanX Prediction: Simone will be a more able fill in then David Gregory ever was. (That was painful!)

The Democrats don’t care for McCellan either that is “Democrats” not the Progressives. How odd McCain comes out and slaps Pflager for his treatment of Senator Clinton makes a statement, what did Obama say because I missed it? The Progressives don’t want Senator Webb for VP because he is too masculine…how big is the progressive wing of the Dem party something like what 15 % or 25 % that identify ultra liberal? and remember there are ways when you poll people to make your numbers look bigger. How does the progressive wing, think they will get a Dem canidate elected, without the rest of the Democrat party and some Independents like Ginger and Me? They are so screwed up, and they don’t seem to recognize they are headed DOWN not up in their selection for Democrat canidates. The symbol of the Democrat Party is the “Donkey” right now it isn’t the Donkey’s head leading it is the Donkey’s tail end leading, and it looks like they have no idea which direction they are heading, I can tell them it isn’t UP. From distruction comes renewal, the Republicans are not doing much better with the “Rino” wing of the party leading the way.
Watching the DNC live (Florida and Michigan)…whooboy!
This is really history in the making….
Donald,
I was watching CNN’s coverage of that Rules commitee hearing too. What a waste of money.
Take the damn proposal from Obama and give HRC the 19 delegates. It doesn’t matter any more. I believe the fat lady has sung.
I’ve sung also.
I, for one, love Mark Simone! Glad to hear he’ll be taking over.
Simone is an interesting choice. Just happened upon Simone’s Buchanan interview this morning while driving. Mark gave Pat a lot of time and challenged PB’s premise of an unnecessary war. Good interview. Looking forward to Monday to see how this all works out.
The DNC Rules committee is giving me a chad sized headache. Howard Ickes presentation in support of HRC was great!
channel – What did you think of Simones premise that Hillary wanted to disenfranchise the states with caucuses?
I think the author mistyped he apparently is writing about “Libertarian” movement. This is the neighborhood McCain needs to make his home in if he wants people to come out and vote for him.
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/05/30/time-to-return-to-the-first-principles-of-conservatism/
goiman, Missed the Hillary wants to disenfranchise caucus states. But if you think about it that is her basis of her case, isn’t it?
Whose Running with the Pack?
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/05/31/dean-calls-for-party-healing-at-dnc-meeting/
Greyhounds run races too, can we apply their pack behavior to the Democrat canidates running for President? Have a look at last link in my last post, is Obama challenging or rolling over? I think there is a case for who runs with the “Democrat Pack” and who doesn’t. Howard Dean behaving like an Alpha? Senator Clinton won’t back down.
http://www.italian-greyhound.net/packbehave.htm
Howling is used to assemble the pack, well Howard Dean certainly qualifys for that role LOL

Barack Obama Resigns From His Church
Barack Obama is resigning his membership in the Trinity
United Church of Christ in Chicago in the aftermath of
controversies over sermons given at the church.
Click | here
Is this like handing in his Black Card?
He quit Trinity or did his pastors make it impossible for him to stay?
I bought “Born Fighting How The Scots Irish Shaped America” Now I have both those books that Frec gave a 5 star ratings. Jim Webb mentions “Albion’s Seed in the back of the book and once in the book, that is what the summary of this book reminded me of when I read it on Amazon. I wonder if Sen Jim Webb is an I Fan? He isn’t crazy about Politically Correct culture.
Ree,
I’m currently reading Look Me in the Eyes by John Elder Robison. Imus needs to have this guy on.
Why? So shit like this stops happening.
Should have read…

Democratic Panel Approves Half Votes for Florida and Michigan Delegates
A Democratic Party committee voted to seat delegates from
Florida and Michigan at the party’s convention but give each
one only half a vote.
Read More: Click | here
So I guess we no longer have to play by the rules
Florida, and Michigan didn’t “play by the rules” from the get go. They are lucky to have been allowed to be seated at the convention, period. Michigan more so than Florida.
That’s what I mean Donald. All they should have is their Supers. Period. think NJ should hld ther 2012 rimary tomorrow at 3:15.
One more thing: Harold Ickes sat on that same committee and voted in FAVOR of the rules that would have “disenfranchised” any state that moved their primaries up ahead of said rules.
Of course, Mr. Ickes at that time in history believed Hillary would be the nominee.
Changing the rules? Depends on who sits where and where your interests are.
It’s called sour grapes. If the shoe had been on the other foot…well…
Here’s my feelings on primaries:
Have one “Super Tuesday” when every state has the primary at the same time, same date.
Then have the conventions…and on into the general election.
Today my New York Mets beat the LA Dodgers 3-2. Yesterday however they lost 9-5. According to Democratic party logic(Oxymoron?) ifhe DNC ran MLB the Dodgers should be allowed to take half the runs they didn’t need yesterday and use them today claiming victory 3.5-3.
Now please explain something to me. If the DNC first said that only 1/2 the delegates from the States of Florida and Michigan would be seated at the (Chaotic Convention) in Denver. What’s the difference of all the delegates are seated and only get a 1/2 vote each.
And they had a hearing for this? Good God.
This is the worst election process I have ever witnessed. And pardon me for saying this. If Hillary get’s the nomination due to this BS then I will be a Monkey’s Uncle. Whatever that means.
So Hillary achieves 87 delegates to Obama’s 63. Plus the unknown Edward’s delegates and the unpledges.
She didn’t gain much at all from what I see. 24 or 30. What’s the difference. She is done in my opinion.
“The Obama camp, however, remains nervous about Mrs Clinton’s intentions and ambitions, and is preparing a face-saving package that will allow her to continue to play a role in health care reform, which has been her signature issue for more than a decade. Despite pressure from some Clinton allies, Mr Obama and his advisers do not wish to ask her to be his vice-presidential running mate. “They will talk to her,” one Democrat strategist close to senior figures in the Obama camp told The Sunday Telegraph. “They will give her the respect she deserves. She will get something to do with health care, a cabinet post or the chance to lead the legislation through the Senate.”
Another Democrat who has discussed strategy with friends in the Obama inner circle said that Mr Obama was openly considering asking Mrs Clinton to join his cabinet, alongside two other former presidential rivals: John Edwards, who is seen as a likely attorney general; and Joe Biden, who is a leading contender to become Secretary of State. ”

How to exasperate a “No-Win” situation? DNC rules in the ultimate act of fairness award a candidate a short stack (1/2 vote) of delegates not earned!
Having listened in on some of the DNC Rules discussions I was truly impressed by arguments for “every vote counts” and “fair reflection” and “flawed primaries”.
Obama supporters may have won the battle but at a very steep cost. The result of this “victory” is a festering wound which will not be fully healed by November. With a commanding lead BHO would have been better served to certify delegates earned regardless of how flawed the primary. That would have been an act of leadership demonstrating the ability to pull the party together. In the end the hard left of the Democratic Party (just like the hard right of the Republican Party) has shown itself incapable of the sort of compromise needed to bring the party together.
I think the DNC ruling was crap. They showed no integrity what so ever. Why have rules if they’re not going to follow them because some one might get their feelings hurt.
Why reward the states for ignoring the rules. Why have rules. Obama (not to mention Richardson Biden Edwards etc) didn’t’ even campaign there. In MI he wasn’t even on he ballot.
Damn I wish the DNC had been my parents. Don’t worry about finishing your dinner we’ll give you half the desert.
Gore/Sebelius 08
ChannelXRFR,
That was my reference to pecking order, the Dems have not really established one, althougth Howard Dean is the “Leader” he is not settling the dispute. Will a beta or gamma become the nominee? I found the awarding of 1/2 count for a person’s Whole vote to be condecending and no more then appeasement, the DNC worked the numbers out before they got to this decision. They think Democrat Voters are DUMB? Go ahead Howard Dean, keep reinforcing my decision to leave the Dem party!
I SAID IT BEFORE WE NEED A DO OVER!
Disenfranchise Florida and Michigan now, pay the price in November, these folks already don’t trust politicians, give them a reason to stay home or swing vote for McCain. I was talking to my daughter this morning and she is a Republican and so disgusted she is ready to vote for Ron Paul because she said, at least you know where he stands, even if you don’t agree with him 🙂
I am way into Webb’s book “Born Fighting” it is so easy to read and I am enjoying it entirely. The thing is I think Frec and I might be part of his target audience. Debra Dickerson should read this book if she has not already, I think she has an open mind where others don’t. If anyone wants to see who it really is that is going for Hillary vs Obama and why, they should read Webb’s book and Albion’s Seed…Webb refers to Albion’s Seed as a magnificent book, in his book. I agree, 5 Stars for both.
PT, I bookmarked the page you posted and agree. Here is the thing with the Autism argument, people are stuck on the children with autism stage, well the children grow up. It kind of reminds me of Ricky Bobby “Talledega Nights” who liked to pray to baby Jesus, when everyone at the dinner table keeps reminding him, Jesus grew up, he was a man. What about all the folks who have autism and the ones who are coming up, how are they going to cope and fit in? Imus should have someone on who can speak to what it is like to live with Autism as an adult. The emphasis has been on children with Autism, they don’t stay children forever, and with the size of the autism population, what is going to happen when they need to enter society as adults and find their place?
PT,
I agree you can’t change rules in the middle, whats the old saying you can’t change horses in the middle of the stream. Still if you leave out millions of people who vote, it doesn’t really matter “Fairness” is in the eye of the beholder, there will be a backlash.
This is the Primary and it is June the DNC should have their head in the “General Election Phase” they have to know what an effect this is going to have on the General Election.
I have been listening to Tammy Bruce she is coming from a different place. Tammy is basically saying it doesn’t matter who ends up President, whoever it is the American People have to drive the agenda by participation and forget “letting” the elected leadership decide for us – no cruise control. Tammy Bruce describes herself as a Conservative Indpendent, I don’t know I think I am, I think I am more of a Moderate. I don’t have any problem with Gay Marriages, I think the decision should be made a state level if they want to pass legislation to reconginize same sex unions. I know regular Conservatives have a problem with this social issue. My position is this, I think monogamous commited relationships are healthier. Like Imus says, let them enjoy wedded bliss like the rest of us, why should they get out of it LOL.
WOW……………….. Are you kidding me? This guy was all over Imus!

He CANNOT be serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What say you?
Dr. Boyce the peoples scholare imagining himself as Dr King and Malcom X! Predicting this will be “the hotest summer since 1968”. Is this a warning or a threat?
Leftist circling the wagons…
God Bless You, I’m Out, Peace
Harley,
O’Reilly has been pounding Boyce on The Factor, this is the same guy who called Juan Williams a “happy negro” I guess when you are on the far left, you can say any nasty thing you want because you have free speech…otherwise you get fired from your Radio/TV gig for satire which is protected speech. O’Reilly has been on the Dean of the University, where Boyce is teaching? Teaching what?
Oh we got our TAKS results back two As and C, that C makes me angry. I had to spend a week going at the school office phone calls, emails, finally I got a sit down, and someone finally addressed the problem. I was on the problem a month before to head off this kind of grade, and who knows what the grade would have been if I didn’t get involved. Math, that subject was B at the start of the year. Public school you have to be your child’s advocate. You should see our property taxes it would make your eyes bulge 🙂 Then again many here commenting are living in New Jersey so you all would probably like our Property Taxes in Texas!
Hey Ree, my point is does Imus really need to be monitored and his show destroyed when nuts like this and the Trinity pastors can spew hate any time they want to????? Is it REALLY fair? 🙂
There really was nothing fair about what happened to Imus. This has been going on for a long while. With our experience we are more aware and more sensitive to the duplicity.
Ree…post#31 on a few things…
“I found the awarding of 1/2 count for a person’s Whole vote to be condescending and no more then appeasement…”
Actually, to be fair, they adopted the same Republican Convention rules…which is:
If you violate the rules, you can not seat MORE than half the delegation.
The Democratic rules committee allowed all to be seated with 1/2 the vote each.
The only difference is, more people (full delegation) with half a vote each…
…or half the people with a full vote. There is, in fact, no difference.
I am strictly speaking as to the Florida vote above.
The very fact that the Michigan delegation was seated at all was a surprise to me, given the state of Michigan is completely controlled by Democrats, and they outright gave the Democratic rules committee the “collective finger” over a political point over the order of who gets to go first, second or third in the primary election…making a political statement, thus putting the voters rights at risk.
That was not in their best interest, nor the voters of Michigan collectively.
Florida…in a simple fact…was screwed by the Republican legislature, their senate, and their Governor…all Republican controlled.
I have much more empathy towards the voters of Florida, than Michigan, given the circumstances.
On the subject of Autism…and Autistic sentient human beings growing up and older:
My 2nd Grandson has come a LONG way and in many cases, has fit in well and adjusted with his fellow students…and is excelling in academics.
The real issue (and it IS a real issue) is the varying degrees of Autism.
My 3rd Grandson, is much more severe as to the effects of autism, and hasn’t done as well as his older brother.
This issue of Autism has to be researched on the varying degrees of it’s nature, and that is where the rub is.
For the most severe cases…it most likely will become a lifetime issue. Not unlike the issue of care for people with Alzheimer’s .
Thank You for raising the issue on Autism, it does hit home to me, my Daughter and her Husband…and most importantly, my Grandson. 🙂
Chanx post #36:
“There really was nothing fair about what happened to Imus. ”
I will say this much for Don Imus: He has taken what happened and has done something good with what was dealt to him.
That old adage “Life isn’t fair” is true. Many a times Imus has stated, “He could have done this” or “He could have done that”, yet he DID do something positive out of it all.
Everyone in the world when born wasn’t given a certificate stating “You Are Entitled To A Fair Life”.
When I think of it…REALLY think about it…there are a hell of a lot of infants, children, men and women that have suffered more…MUCH more in this world than Don Imus did.
Life does suck a lot of times, and one can whine about it, or try and do something positive with what you are dealt. For that, I admire the I-Man. That’s why, after all these years, I continue to support him…and listen to him. He’s a good man…and it’s a refreshing outlook on what someone can do when “dealt a bad hand”.
In my book, no matter what the critics may say of him, sling at him, write about him…he has done himself proud…. and with honor. 😉
Harley, post #35:
“does Imus really need to be monitored and his show destroyed when nuts like this and the Trinity pastors can spew hate any time they want to????? Is it REALLY fair?”
On the subject of religion, especially in the context of the current campaign…
…there are crazy people throughout religion. I might add, it is not just “limited” to Christian pastors spewing vile statements from the pulpit either.
A persons own moral compass, to me, will show what a person is, and believes.
It’s accomplished by personal actions and by commitment towards ones fellow human being. That speaks volumes to me, more so than anything else. Walk the walk. Not Talk the Talk.
John McCain and Barrak Obama know this all to well.
I, as an American citizen am more concerned with how do we fix the mess we are currently in, both domestic and on foreign soil…and make things right.
I have said before, whoever is the next President will have more than their hands full.
I pray for this much: May they have the wisdom, a moral compass to guide our Country, empathy for the suffering, disadvantaged and the poor, and a strong backbone to protect our Nation.
The thing about Imus in the Morning now at this period of time. Imus has to rebuild and protect the brand. We don’t think he needs to because we all know he didn’t deserve what happened, to us his brand is just fine. Even if Imus doesn’t agree, there is a societal predendent that was set. Is Satire protected Speech in this Free Country of ours? He was fired so the answer is no.
Imus has awhole lot sitting on his shoulders, think of the list, the Radio side for Citadel, the TV side for RFD TV he is effecting RFD TV’S carriage situation. Everyone who is employed because Imus in the Morning is on air, and his Charities. Now I am not suprized he can handle the load and considering he spent how many weeks this winter carrying this load with walking pneumonia well I for one am impressed. As far as all of us are concerned what did he state “I got this” He has the media monitors looking for a scalp. NABJ are really unhappy he didn’t stay off the air, MMFA is not the only one monitoring him. The woman who wrote in Feb., to complain about the Imus on Air theater about the Clinton vs Obama primary contest. Threatening to what- boycott and who? He has to woo nervous advertizers back.
There is an upside to all of this as I commented in the last post he picked up another Florida Station. I think this is a slow build up. Jim Webb was on last week, guest are coming back, well after reading one his books, I can’t imagine that Jim Webb would care what anyone thinks, he would probably tell them to go pound sand if they didn’t like it 🙂 Harold Ford Jr., is an example of someone who isn’t coming back not because he dislikes Imus in the Morning but he can’t seem to locate his spine BIG GRIN or is it, he is in need of an I – organ donation. This is why I am impressed with Tony and Karith what kind of flack do you suppose they have to take for joining the cast. In the meantime they read all the moaning and groaning from die hard I fans blaming them when they don’t call the shots. Imus is the producer he calls the shots. That is why I think it is funny when Tony calls us m’fers 🙂 too funny, he gets Imus fans better then people realize.
I wish there was a “Comedian Summit” and all the comedians got together and decided to go ballastic all at the sametime, let the Media Monitors et al try and get them all, saturate the air waves with edgy satire, then back each other up..I won’t perform if this comedian is blacklisted ect…Satire is protected Speech but somebody has to push back against the Word Police. Comedians make their living with Words.
Maybe RFD wasn’t a mistake but it sure made it harder on the Iman. It’s like fighting with one hand behind your back.
The Citadel wheel doesn’t make it any easier. Imus just gets going and he has to pull it back for affiliates and/or commercials.
ChannelXRFR
Citadel could cooperate more and adjust the format for Imus’s program, the same goes for RFD TV. Mel stated on Imus Truth, I can go do something fow awhile and comeback and the RFD TV “announcements” are still going, there really is too much RFD TV branding during the breaks. I wonder if it wasn’t Christy who is on maternity leave, who was handling the flow of the program? This is tweaking not major changes it allows for the banter to go on interrupted and I fans love the banter. I love it when Warner asked Imus if Imus is going to listen to him on his other radio gig…and Imus is like, that isn’t going to happen Warner. Imus always telling Warner not to encourage Bernie. They should play for us what is happening in the breaks.
On a Senator Webb note if his current book is as good as the one I am reading, I will buy and read it too. There must be an online review for his latest book. I have already told my daughter to buy a copy of “Born Fighting How the Scots-Irish shaped America”
On the back cover among others:
James Webb, a legendary fighting man, tells a remarkable story-how the Scots-Irish and their fighting faith in America shaped the great nation we are today. His profound insights deepen our understanding not only of this unique people but also of America’s past and present. John McCain, United States Senator.
Maybe if my daughter reads that it will bring her around. Sorry Ron Paul.
During those RFD breaks Imus is in commercial or local radio programing kicks in. MSNBC would fill the time with news. RFD has nothing compelling to fill the gaps, this is why the program is better on radio.
ChannelXRFR
There has to be a creative answer to overlap the two- radio and tv. It seemed to me before Christy took leave the RFD branding wasn’t so saturated.
Could just be slothfulness on RFD’s part. Only 6 months into it but proving to be a tough slog.
ChannelXRFR
I was on Blacktygrrrr I forget how many rs are in Eric’s blog title. And he is blogging about this guy who is using his 600.00 tax rebate from the govt as a girlfriend bounty…LOL Too funny there is another name for this but talk about innovative use of his tax rebate Imus or Mark Simone should have interview him.
If you look in his comments section he has friends selling him to his future girlfriend all his positive attributes. This reminds me of stuff Imus would get ahold of and have fun with.
http://www.myspace.com/girlfriendbounty
RFD TV can’t treat Imus in The Morning like their other programs because it is unique and since they put so much effort into putting him on and showcasing him go all the way make it special. In for a pound in for penny if it is coordination that is worth freeing up one of their people just to handle coordinating.
I think around the 6 month mark, I would start a second wave get fresh people in with fresh ideas if need be in the Citadel sales dept, not get rid of anyone just stick someone new into the mix to goose em and get em kick started again.
Lookin for love in the tax windfall market 😉 Have a look at the last blog..myspace love.
http://blacktygrrrr.wordpress.com/
In for a penny in for pound sigh….I need a typing break.
Girlfriendbounty is true economic stimulus. BTW the 6 month dating period is to long, I would negotiate for 2 dates. Because why should I as the referrer be penalized for male 38’s inadequacy?
I bet Patrick has been pitched at least 3-4x a week on concepts to fill these gaps. There are probably a half dozen good ideas worth exploring. My advice to Patrick is to fill the gaps.
My previous comment didn’t post. I’m off to the land of my ancestors this coming weekend, celebrating the graduation of my son from high school, and my daughter from college. Two full academic scholarships for my son, magna cum laude for my daughter.
On another note, my ancestors who came to America never expected anything from the government, didn’t complain because of the discrimination shown them which was awful, worked so hard, and the one thing I always remember was how they always said how much they loved America even though we were all poor. They never thought America was a mean country and never thought they were owed anything. My father died after visiting his family only once in 50 years. My two cents.
Ciao!
You should all lobby for the PTBartman Show, he perfect companion to IITM.
Donald,
my previous comment contained the fact that my nephew was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome around age 6. He is now 31 and cannot function in society. He spends most of his time in his bedroom. He is so intelligent, smart and handsome that it breaks my heart that he has this to deal with. There are no programs for adults with this autism-spectrum disorder.
My sister has to deal with this every day and it is taking its toll on her to say the least. She has tried every doctor, foundation, every avenue she has found to no avail–a single mom who has dealt with breast cancer twice.
So very sad for our family.
Donald – sorry, the previous comment that didn’t post.
Linda,
Have a wonderful adventure in Italy. You deserve it.
I’m on my way this morning to my Appalachian adventure…Jim Webb’s stomping grounds in southwest Virginia. Laree, I’m glad you’re enjoying the book…for a history book, it’s quite a page-turner, don’t you think?
C y’all later… 🙂
thanks, frec. you, too in Va! great birding in Va. i am told by my buddies.
Those tuned in to Citadel Broadcasting’s recent first-quarter financial results teleconference could clearly hear the disbelief in CEO Farid Suleman’s voice as he reported to investors and analysts that national advertising at news/talk WABC/New York was off almost 35 percent.
Thirtyfive percent. Not good.
Those tuned in to Citadel Broadcasting’s recent first-quarter financial results teleconference could clearly hear the disbelief in CEO Farid Suleman’s voice as he reported to investors and analysts that national advertising at news/talk WABC/New York was off almost 35 percent.
Thirty five percent! That would be death anywhere else in radio. With the advent of Imus, sponsors have not been coming back as they would have in the past. Suleman will be making changes…
Citadel Broadcasting is not only the flagship station in NYC. Thus attributing the decline to the Imus Program only is not at all fair in my mind.
The changes that will be made will be internal. And as far as I can see advertisers are back with Imus. But Imus can’t carry the network or the Corporation.
Bruce
I don’t think the problem is on the radio side if anything the RFD TV simualcast is what is holding the program back. Patrick gets and email and he reacts, either Imus has creative license or he doesn’t and if he doesn’t, then Imus needs a new television home. Citadel has made a big investment, they don’t need the tv side holding them back. Imus should put on the program he wants and let go of worrying about making everyone happy but his viewers and listeners because in the end ratings get the advertizers. RFD TV is not the same model.
I listen on WABC radio live or via the internet stream. I’ve never heard a show so crammed with advertising. Unless they are getting less per ad I can’t imagine that the problem is Imus. Frankly the advertising has become kind of annoying.
Anyone know?
Ree,
I agree and have said it in a couple posts here. RFD may be comfortable to Imus. But to take his creativity away by catering to these rural folks is wrong.
Imus has said he had other offers and was not forced to go to RFD-TV. So why the hell did he do it?
Time will tell. I don’t see the program as you know. And I am thankful for it. The radio feed is better in my mind. I listen to ImusOnAir not the WABC feed.
Out of each hour there are 16 minutes of advertising time. So what do we really get 136 minutes of 240 every day.
I think there is much more advertising on the WABC feed, Bruce. The ImusOnAir thing has a bunch of psa’s you don’t get on WABC. Or at least it used to. Haven’t listened to that feed in quite some time.
Ski,
The difference between WABC’s and ImusOnAir feeds are the PSA’s and the dead air and the Weather lady. But the time of 5:13 is the same on either site. 34 minutes of live programming per hour.
Gotcha – thanks.
Have been looking around for Citadel’s earnings call, without luck. Many companies take the calls off their websites after 30 days so this is not unusual.
It would not surprise me that WABC’s ad revenue was down during for 1Q08. After all Imus had just started with WABC and advertisers were tentative. I’ve noticed a big big change in the advertisers for the program. Not only is the more of them but they are increasingly national with many of I-Favs returning.
Just a thought..
Being unable to listen to the 9 to 10 am hour (except for Bruce’s great compilations… 😉 …
the difference to me is quite startling to me. They seem to be more “free flow”, relaxed and (dare I say) don’t have to worry about backlash from RFD and Patrick.
I would like to see (my own opinion) Imus move away from RFD and simulcast on another network more geared to his type of humor.
I think (again just my own opinion) that Imus went with RFD because that was his (at that time) best offer and give him the television expose he wanted to go along with his radio program.
Time will tell…and nothing will surprise me at this point…especially after Imus commenting that RFD was NOT going to run “best of Imus” while he was off air this summer…calling it “not a wise choice”.
I agree with X. The number and quality of Imus advertisers has increased in the last couple of months. Fox News, Capital One to name a couple. I doubt that Imus is the problem at WABC if there is one.
Donald, I also agree that the RFDTV thing is probably not working out well. You do get the occasional hint from Imus about that subject.
He needs to concentrate on his show and his content and let the chips fall where they may. I think the show, along with other problems, is a bit forced. The old natural flow and order of things is gone. IMO.
Most revealing RFD incident was the bleeping of Dick Gregory as he discussed the N-word. How can you have a discussion on race if you are going to bleep a true civil rights activist? I’m just saying…

I still say the best place for Imus would be on Comedy Central. “Go to bed with Stewart and Colbert and Wake up with Imus in the Morning”
Just picture those commercials folks. A beautiful woman crawling in to bed between Stewart and Colbert. Colbert snuggles up to her Stewart turns out the light. The alarm clock goes off, The lights go on and from under the covers crawl Imus and Charles. Then Bernie and Lou, Then Karith and Bil Clinton. Then Tony and Larry King, Then Dr Phil and Deirdre …(Fade out)
Now that’s a picture I could have done without……
Dr. Phil and Deirdre.
Imus has said several times it was about the money; however, don’t you imagine there were some other caveats as well….Bernie? The chance to grow RFD? Old and current ties and sentiments to the rural/cowboy lifestyle?
Seems HFJr. and Barnicle are on Joe quite a bit these days…..is this the development that prompted the Barnicle bus?
Both Jacobs and Buchanan appear on MSNBC a lot that has not effected either position with Imus.
Barnicle was doing a WTKK segment during IITM which was being replayed as part of the Imus podcasts.
Inside Cable News Is Back
Guess what 2007 was the blogs breakout year! What else happened in 2007? Let me thinkkkkkk.

Between RFD’s bleeping Dick Gregory, PTBartman’s great idea about a ski and Hillary preparing a “The Party’s over” this is a great group of comments.
I have the Willie Nelson song to go along with her speech if on the tube or here. It will be funny.
Now a little about Mark Simone and his best of Imus today. Must tell you he did an admirable job of filling the gaps while Imus is away for his son’s time in the sun. Which I believe Imus deserves a little time to reflect. Believe he knows things are not going well with RFD at all. So who knows. Comedy Central… Fox…or another Cable network that actually does have an audience in place.
Will be editing and posting the 9AM to 10AM hour of Mark Simone later for all that do not get it.
And Ski is right. WABC’s feed is clean. No humm anymore. But I cannot time it as well as I do with IMUSONAIR. So you will get the full 34 minutes if you have taken my offer. Otherwise. Tough luck for you RFD people out there.
Actually it was the Mark Simone Warner Wolf show during that hour with of course the interview with Paul Begala.

Update on the crazy lady – over a 1M views and 15K comments. Daily Show Jon Stewart closed “MI FL Hunter” segment last night with the crazy lady adding “See you at Passover Grandma!”
MI FL Hunters
The DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting wasn’t just about procedural arguments and redefining words, it was about the disenfranchised voter
http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=170968&title=mi-fl-hunters
Looking through the YT comments it’s arrogance vs anger.
ChannelXRFR,
Obviously the DNC forgot the most important demographic of their Party- angry old white women 🙂 Note to Howard Dean “If Momma ain’t Happy, ain’t nobody gonna be Happy” Now whoever is running McCain’s campaign, do they have the sense to move away from the Left and toward the Center? There are folks out in the hinterlands that will vote Spoiler.
LOL at the Angry White woman from NYC. Now I just need to figure out what name she is posting under? Mmmmmm?
College Girl marking the 6 months mark.

I think this would be a good time for a Pow Wow and an assessment of the direction of the show. I would go back to the original format as much as possible. I understand there are advertizers and it is talk not sports radio, still there was an “organic flow” that worked so get rid of the PSAs radio and tone down the RFD branding. Let them do what they know works. If Patrick gets complaints he has to know how to sort serious and valid, compared to whinning and habitual complainers. This isn’t where I would be mining for feedback. So if Patrick gets complaints he should only respond and to the ones that are valid or reasonable. Dick Gregory should never have been censored. That is an amature move.
Jon Stewart is representative of the “Left Perspective”. The grandma remark is consistent with the treatment Geraldine Ferraro received from the Obama crowd. Its the over the hill, no longer relevant attitude that bites.
Note to McCain: There are a lot of “grandmas”, out there, by and large they all vote!
Brings up one more idea. Whenever the Obama crowd attacks McCain on his age it will ricochet back to the grandmas.
skiwolf,
She must be a regular Imus poster 🙂 “Typical Angry White Woman” That’s not his white Grandmother is it?
Here is the thing they the DNC, think they will marry these folks back up to Obama, honestly they have no idea how women work. Obama has been painted as this far left canidate that isn’t appealing, and he hasn’t done a whole lot to dispel that “Perception” so in voters minds he agrees with the presentation of his positions (Radical Left) I think they ran Obama too early they should have let him finish at least one term in the Senate put some distance btw him and the Chicago crowd.
Yes Sir I Vote, now am I gonna vote Spoiler?
“Hell has no fury like a woman scorned”
Meaning – Literal meaning.
Origin
William Congreve, in The mourning bride, 1697:
As you’ll answer it, take heed
This Slave commit no Violence upon
Himself. I’ve been deceiv’d. The Publick Safety
Requires he should be more confin’d; and none,
No not the Princes self, permitted to
Confer with him. I’ll quit you to the King.
Vile and ingrate! too late thou shalt repent
The base Injustice thou hast done my Love:
Yes, thou shalt know, spite of thy past Distress,
And all those Ills which thou so long hast mourn’d;
Heav’n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn’d,
Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn’d.
Skiwolf,
And we nurse grudges like nobody’s business, how far off is the General Election I want to plan what I am going to wear when I go vote, there must be an appropriate slogan I can put on my t-shirt 😉 Typical Angry White Disgruntled Independent Woman Voter!
Best comment on the crazy lady..
“See what happens when they take Matlock away!”
Presonal preference? Rockford Files (Stephen J. Cannel) over Matlock (Fred Silverman)
I-Fave Cannel, somehow it always comes back to Imus.
In NJ displays of electioneering are illegal and could land you in the pokey.
Today is NJs official primary – non presidential. Hot Senate and Congressional races. I’m trying to figure out how to cast a vote for Imus. Believe there is a Senate Candidate running on the Autism line.

AP tally: Obama clinches Democratic nomination
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080603/ap_on_el_pr/primary_rdp
Within my last post was this.
What have I been telling you all. If the Democrats were to get in come November they would bring back the Fairness Doctrine
Well with luck the “sniper fire” representing the voter will have finally put to rest the Clintonian Entitlement Machine From Hell. God I hope so.
I just finished “Born Fighting How the Scots-Irish Shaped America” I really enjoyed, Rites of Passage The Legacy of Camel Six.
From page 330/331
At a very early age my father laid out the eternal ground rules for street-fighting: Never start a fight, but never run away, even if you know you are going to lose. If you run, you’ll still be running tomorrow. Andi if you fight, win or lose, a bully won’t come back. And Whom-ever you fight, you must make them pay. You must always mark them, so that the next day they have to face the world with a black eye or a cut lip or a bruised cheek, and remember where they got it.
*************
Okay I am the one in our family who teaches this lesson, and it goes like this, don’t back down, no matter if you are out numbered, even if you get the snot beat out of you- you get yours in so they know, they don’t want to take you on again! Let them know they had been in a fight! His Dad taught him this lesson? Was his Momma busy?
My daughter was bullied by three elmentary age girls all at once during a recital at school, she played the violin badly! During one of the breaks she grabbed all of their coats went to the girls bathroom and plugged up three toilets with their coats. They recieved a chilly reception 🙂
I am holding my opinion of James Webb in reserve, till I find out one thing “James Webb where is Lena’s marker?”
X, thanks for the Cavuto interview. I am now firmly a fan of Harriet. Although I continue to despise all things Clintonian that is one cool lady. Good for her!
Ree, My kilt wearing friend and I exchange those growing up Scot-Irish stories all the time. All different personalities, intelligence, ability, talent but the shared culture is a very strong thread.
Going to stop by the libarary and pick Webb’s book up.
There is something about Harriet. She was very poised and direct throughout, said what was on her mind. Some of her facts were a little fuzzy, if you can accept 57 states it shouldn’t matter.
Amen SkiWolf.
Now all those that would have voted for Hillary will either not vote, or vote for McCain.
Don’t know really if anyone is going to revel in this.
This will be worse than the Obama/Clinton show. My Opinion.
Randi Rhodes was a joke. I was a member of her YouTube channel. She was so sickening it made me puke.
Kuby is a little more level headed. But of course no Imus or Curtis Sliwa.
When they broke those two apart I believe with all my heart the audience applauded.
But bad blood still brewed between the NEW Imus show and their being replaced.
Sliwa can be a little crazy at times. But is a Company Man. Follow the leader is his motto. And the leader is IMUS.
Enough of this.
ChanneXRFR,
Webb is an interesting person whoever thought about writing this down, the other white ethnicities, someone should have along time ago.
I am going to upload the violin recital photos to myspace page Pleasant wasn’t big but she was tuff if you look at her, your first question is why would they pick on her, well they picked on everyone it was her turn. That is what bullys do, lookin for the soft ones they can push around. She whined to me once about bullying just once. Children have to be prepared for the real world you know not the way you wish the world was ordered. My nephew had some problems with bullys too, he had dyslexia and for the first time in middle school, he won an academic competition and he was really happy, feeling really good about himself. He won this huge Summer Susage as the Prize, which is a wierd Prize but he was so happy and on his way home he got jumped by some Bullys so he swings around and hits them with his susage it did break, they call the cops and he gets charged with intent because they claimed the sausage could be considered a weapon! He was really folorn about his broken susage, he couldn’t even make it all the way home with having a good day for a change. I think this is one of the reasons I like men, this is some of the stuff they have to go through and they don’t get to complain they just have to take it, rites of passage indeed. We still laugh about the assualt with a deadly susage GRIN.
James Webb had some really characters in his family.
First question from my parents “What does the other kid look like”? They would send us back out if we didn’t at least draw blood.
BTW; Consequence for running away was a talk with Dad, then go back out. No one wanted that talk – you wouldn’t dare run away!
Well now that the Party is over for HRC ( I am not gloating ), now the real fun starts between Obama and McCain. Who can out speak and out wit the other.
History says experience is better then speaking well. But we shall see.
But before we do here is a funny video I found on You Tube that was up on April 6, 2008. Yes, almost two months ago.
It truly made me laugh. There are many out there but this one I found more hilarious.
As usual it’s only about the Clintonians and what they think they have earned by gracing us with their presence. Please just go away.
Maureen Dowd says it best here:
LOL – Jeffery Toobin, CNN “the deranged narcissism of the Clintons”. Pretty funny.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/03/jeffrey-toobin-clintons-r_n_105051.html
Watched HRC last night was intriqued by the notion of concession speech, san concession. Sort of brilliant in its own way.
ChannelXRFR,
Hillary is NOT going to go gently into that good night.
I was watching Red State Updates take on: Waiting for Hillary to Concede…..yes they are still waiting 🙂
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2114866222
We are witnessing UN- throttled ambition, HRC as a runaway train.
Simone this AM was reflecting on when HRC’s campaign went wrong. His POV is it happened on Super Tuesday after which Obama had 11 straight primary victories. But I actually believe it happened in April 2007 when Imus was taken off the air. This was a serious blow to both Biden and Dodd’s campaign. After that both candidacies were marginalized providing OHB center stage.
Thing about McCain, which kind of bums me out, is that after all these years, his public speaking skills are just so poor.
That speach last night was truly awful. Kind of embarrassing really. Needs to hire a speach doctor and go away for two weeks and do nothing else.
God knows you can’t rely on the American People to actually think about the words and content as opposed to the delivery.
This country basically reads and comprehends at a fourth grade level. Never a good sign for someone like McCain.
Was thinking the same thing. Seemed like Johnny Mac tripped over a couple of words per minute.
Speech was well written, laid out themes, contrasted ideas, set the tone going forward, good tempo. This is not Mac’s strong point he is much better in Town Hall Formats and debates.
She may not be a quitter, but she is a sore loser
My Opinion.
And now back to Imus.
This morning while setting up my recording for the Mark Simone replacement show on the WABC feed there was something unusual going on.
Apparently from the 1/2 hour I listened they were testing communications between the Ranch and the RainBow studio via WABC control. Problems with echo. Intercom not muting the Microphone. It was interesting.
So today they are working on that. Didn’t catch any swear words or anything but technical talk. Regarding T1 lines and Bus connections. And then the usual. There will never be a camera in the ABC control room. According to whoever was speaking, no work order was in place. And all the problems seem to originate at Rainbow.
Tomorrow will be interesting.
She is NOT a sore loser. She is the Entitlement Queen from Hell who refuses to believe she lost to some black guy from Chicago. Pure evil runs in the Clintonian veins.
LOL – IMO of course.
You have it right SkiWolf. Like Simone said yesterday during the 9am hour at the end. Somehow she will get in even if it’s through the air vents. LOL
Poor Hillary. Couldn’t happen to a better person in my opinion.
But we are not out of woods yet. The fun has just begun.
Caught parts of the program the last several days. It seemed Simone was filling dead air, at times life less. Lucky for Simone that Warner would hang around otherwise. But even that was lackluster.
Mark Simone is so much better then what we listened to this week.
Which begs the question, why not Monica Crowley as the stand in or co-host?
I agree Channel, he sounded tired. He complained about the early hours, so maybe that has something to do with it. I know, not the best defense, but I still enjoy him and love his humor.
All in all Mark Simone coupled with Warner does a pretty good job. But of course he is no Imus. But tries and stay on Imus’ talking points. He is not a sell out at least.
I only listen to the last hour when I put together the 9 O’Clock hour.
A lot more Warner then. Liked when Warner said Imus was going to come back and fill in for Simone. And then Simone said yes, for the next 51 weeks.
Looking forward to tomorrow. I bet Rob Bartlett will be Bill Clinton. Any takers?
Sitting alone in a studio alone trying to fill 34 minutes that has to be tough. Maybe more guests a co-host that would help.
Maybe I’ve been conditioned over the years – but 10 minutes of Warner is enough, enough already. Maybe Phil Boyce could rethink this substitute thing.
Ok someone help me out here because my HRC tirade seems to be just warming up a bit. I’ll stop soon I promise.
Why in the world would any thinking person support HRC. She has done nothing and accomplished nothing except to happen to be married to BubbaBill.
Yes she was a reasonably successful lawyer for a mid range law firm in Little Rock, Arkansas for a short period of time. Anything else she has done was a direct result of being married to a powerful “man”, including being elected a carpet bagger senator from New York. I still remember the days when she instantly became a Yankee fan. It was kind of like the day when she started drinking beer in Indiana. A day of complete BS.
Now in my carreer and life I have worked for, with and had work for me many incredibly bright, powerful, successful women of amazing backgrounds. Not only that, but I happen to be married to one who has had a far more impressive “generated on her own carrer” than that creature HRC. Anyhow, all of these women I know, especially my wife, absolutely despise the ground HRC walks on and would have her for lunch should they ever meet.
It is so incongruous to me that all these “white women” are so excited about a woman who has done nothing in her life except to be “married” to the right guy. Am I the only one on this planet, other than my wife, who thinks she is a total joke?
I’m done now. “My time here is up and I thank you for yours”. 🙂
Fun article:
In a turn of phrase reminiscent of her husband’s idiotic sexual denial in a deposition about Monica Lewinsky (“It depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is”), Hillary’s camp argued all day over the definition of the “c” word – “concede,” that is.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/06042008/news/columnists/what_a_loser___and_she_cant_even_do_that_113924.htm
skiwolf:
I, for one, cannot STAND Hillary. I am of that demographics and am embarrassed by my fellow females for their obsessive behavior towards this nitwit, I mean this do-nothing Senator. I cannot for the life of me understand their allegiance towards her. She has done NOTHING for NY state, where is all this experience?? I wish she would just go away, but I know this is wishful thinking.
SkiWolf,
The people that support Hillary Clinton are buying facts that are not true. Her 35 years of experience is not as a leader.
Yes she was an attorney in a law firm that was investigated during the White Water Hearings. She was an advocate for equality. But until she became the First Lady who knew her? Then during the first few years as First Lady she throws this Universal Health Care idea that BJ Bill realizes is a bust and then she becomes just an ambassador of good will. No negotiations with foreign leaders. Nothing that would indicate she had any say in what BJ Clinton did during his two terms but one thing.
When she said “Right Wing Conspiracy” during her husbands impeachment trials due to Monica Lewinsky being under his desk with a cigar up her whatever.
Those that say if she was not the nominee would not vote the Democrat front runner are either racists or members of the National Organization for Women. And in my estimation are far too brain washed to think she might pull off an upset now, when the numbers are in and cannot change according to the DNC. What true democrats they are. They are a farce.
Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other powerful Democratic leaders are demanding that all uncommited Super Delegates declare by Friday. Or I guess they will just call the whole thing off.
If Obama would take her as VP what a real mess he would be in. And then in 2012 or 2016 we would have to look for another Clinton run for the Presidency. But it’s my opinion he will not become President whoever his running mate is. And McCain will win hands down for the mere fact the Democrat party is fractured. A mess. Not unified.
It’s over Ms. Hillary. Bow out graciously and show the World you are not a sore loser. Don’t point your finger at anyone because remember when you do 4 are pointing back at you. It’s your fault Ms. Hillary. You don’t play fair. Have cheated all of your life and your husband has cheated in more ways then one.
And now My time is up, thank you for yours.
Switch Attacks on a Cable Channel who employs Weasels.
MSNBC is almost as bad as Hillary Clinton. Lost in a sea of BS
Ignore the Advertising. Read the article. Have posted this earlier in the week. We cannot allow a Democrat in the White House at all Costs. That is my opinion
Skiwolf, I get your not liking Hillary, even though I think you get a little obsessive over her. I simply like her because she’s smart and tough. I admire her for what she’s been able to endure. Not very many women could stand all the pressure she has over the years. I would’ve quit a long time ago. Her ‘tough as steel’ nature is what would make a good president. I feel she doesn’t want to drop out of the race because it will terribly disappoint people like me.
I think what is most disturbing is your hating someone so much that you despise and would treat them horribly if you ever met that person. I think that’s very sad. I personally was raised in a family that learned to treat ALL people with dignity. I don’t consider myself better than anyone. I kind of get the feeling that you do. You always have an arrogance about you that is noticeable in your posts. Who cares if people like Hillary? Who cares????? I don’t get why people like George W Bush either, but I don’t obsess over it.
Hillary Fan or whoever you are:
I agree smart and tough are great qualities. Many women I’ve known have them.
The women I have known, however – or at least most of them, also have integrity, honesty and a sense of right and wrong that does not lead them to a “do anything at all costs mentality to achieve their ambitions”.
These are also women who have achieved on their own abilities and success as opposed to simply being married to the right guy at the right time in history.
HRC would be a pimple, like us, on the butt of history if it were not for the fact she was married to BubbaBill. A fact you cannot deny.
The second part of your post is simply not worth responding to.
1.) “she’s smart and tough.”
2.) “Her ‘tough as steel’ nature is what would make a good president. ”
3.) “treat ALL people with dignity.”
As for number 1: She’s so smart that she stayed within a marriage with cheating husband to further her political opportunities.
…that isn’t smart, it’s opportunistic and shows signs of a person that will do any damn thing to further Her own personal goals.
As far as number 2, let’s not confuse ” ‘tough as steel’ nature”
as wisdom, as opposed to personal ego and the drive for personal gain. That would be casting a “Yea” vote for the last 8 years of insanity driven by the same mentality of George W. Bush.
Number 3: She doesn’t know the meaning of treating people with dignity, as was evidenced by the fact that she couldn’t even find it within her soul to acknowledge defeat and concede that she lost.
Her entitlement attitude, along with Bill Clinton’s arrogance during the campaign all came back to roost.
If she pushes herself further…she may wind up a woman without a party…or any kind of political future in the future.
As a footnote: I don’t “hate” Hillary Clinton. I do despise her arrogance and self effacing “it was MY time” attitude.
I would not blame Obama one wit if he passed her over as the V.P. pick.
I’ll take Jim Webb over Hillary Clinton in a heartbeat.
Hillary to concede on Friday and endorse Obama:
…on another note:
Hillary will not be considered for V.P. slot due to Obama’s vetting committees’ insistence that Bill Clinton release all finances with his Presidential library for full disclosure, which Bill Clinton balked at…still developing…keep an eye on the newswire updates.
Re: wit ~ the word ya wanted was ~ WHIT ~ lol
So much passion and angst this political season. But who is all this emotion for?
Where’s FDR, JFK or Harry Truman when you need one of them …or even Eisenhower or LBJ.
Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John McCain. Is this really the best we’ve got? “Tough as steel nature” …!!!?!
It all must be a “vast right-wing conspiracy”.
Bruce-and Yes From Florida
Correction on the above post.
Right for the 2016 election. That’s when she will be 68.
Please Bruce, re-think the gov’t supplementing your utility bills! Thats what they are doing in red China! Pay your own bills, you’ll be better off. I don’t want any govenment hand-outs.
Figured out who Hillary Fan is. Pretty obvious from the quality and style of writing. Kind of bummed that she feels it necessary to hide her identity. Oh well……ain’t no big thing. This is the internet after all.
Goiman,
That was a rebuke of Universal Health. But then again Florida is a notoriously poor run State when it comes to regulatory agencies.
And my electricity has quadrupled since we moved here about 5 years ago.
It was an example.
mike08exdem,
That is my take on our choices this time around, I am “spoilen” for November. If these two partys can’t do better then they have been, they are going to turn off a huge segment of the electorate. We are not going to get a do over but I would be willing to bet hard cold deflated American dollars, they wouldn’t be the choices now. Well it’s all down hill from here.
This article is basically stating that if Obama is going to criticise Iraq, he at least has to visit the country and meet Iraqi leaders in person, have a passing familarity, you know be able to pick them out of a line up 🙂

I personally am not against Women’s rights. But key word BI-WEEKLY. These Women are clueless in my opinion
I really do despise “Newsmax”.
They are the equal in journalism to “The Globe” or “The Sun”.
It does not surprise me “one WHIT” (LOL) that Imus gave one of their “prestigious reporters” such short shrift on the program last week.
Speaking on the subject of “socialized” health care…
and this quote from “Newsmax”…
“Beneath Obama’s flowery rhetoric lies a dangerous economic plan that will wreak havoc on the American economy.”
Don’t make me laugh. Seriously. We are SURELY in a great financial and economic boom , right now…aren’t we all? It has been said that when your neighbor looses their home to foreclosure…that means recession. When YOU loose your home…it’s a DEPRESSION.
Funny how the argument against socialized health care in Europe is continuously savaged by the Capitalistic free markets here in the States…
…and yet: The very same procedure I am about to undergo this coming Monday has been available for quite some time in Europe…and was just recently given an o.k. here in the States in 2004…hence: very few specialists here to do the procedure.
Some people say Americans have the right to health care as a “PRIVILEGE”. Imagine that! Even as far as comparing it to the privilege of driving an automobile…
…all this, from the “Greatest Superpower In the World”.
What bullshit.
Please excuse my “French”. 😉

While I am on the subject of the medical situation in this country and feeling pretty fiesty…LOL…
Personally…(and I have been a long time advocate of this):
they need to totally BAN all advertisements for prescription drugs on the air, in magazines and in the major media completely.
I am fed up with “ask your Doctor” if (insert drug name here) is right for you. Where the HELL did THAT come from? If you have a reputable Doctor, he or she will recommend it…if you NEED it. The whole “Pimping” of the major pharmaceuticals of their wares to people that are clueless sickens me to no end.
Have you any idea HOW MUCH MONEY they spend on ADVERTISING for their drugs directly to the public?
Here’s a novel idea…spend it on RESEARCH for CURES instead of band aides.
Donaldinks ~ I agree with you re: Big drug companies ~ pimping the drugs ~ saying ~ ask your Dr. ~ or prescriber {what or who the hell is a Prescriber?} ~ Sheesh!
Here is an example of Health care…(note: if you are still eating “Freedom Fries” instead of “French Fries”…read no further…LOL
“In the May 16 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association, Dr. Ezekiel J. Emanuel, chairman of the department of clinical bioethics at the National Institutes of Health, wrote “The U.S. health-care system is considered a dysfunctional mess.”
French Success Story
Indeed, a May 15 study from the Commonwealth Fund study comparing the quality of the U.S. system with five other countries found that despite spending twice as much per capita, the U.S. ranks last or near last on basic performance measures of quality, access, efficiency, equity, and healthy lives. “The U.S. stands out as the only nation in these studies that does not ensure access to health care through universal coverage,” says Commonwealth Fund President Karen Davis (see BusinessWeek.com, 6/12/07, “Universal Health Care: Say Yes”).
Gazing across the Atlantic won’t lead Americans to a model that fits everyone’s requirements. Britain, in particular, suffers myriad problems in its National Health Service (NHS). But in some respects, France comes pretty close to the ideal. Not only are its 62 million citizens healthier than the U.S. population, but per capita spending on health care is also roughly half as much.
France relies on a mixture of public and private funding, as does the U.S. But unlike Americans, every French citizen has access to basic health-care coverage through national insurance funds, to which both employers and employees contribute. Some 90% of the population also buys supplementary private insurance to provide benefits that aren’t covered, and the government picks up the tab for those out of work who cannot gain coverage through a family member. “We pay higher taxes in France, but at least we get something for our money,” says Leslie Charbonnel, an American who has lived in Paris for two decades.
The key to France’s success is that its system, like the U.S.’s, values patient choice and physician control over medical decision-making. But France does it for far less, with per capita health-care spending in 2004 at just $3,500, compared with $6,100 in the U.S., according to the World Health Organization. All told, France spends 10.7% of gross domestic product on health care, vs. 16.5% in the U.S.”

Your a socialist, how sad that you feel that way about our great nation. Thats why people from all over the world come here for their medical procedures. Good luck to you, will you be here in the States or going overseas for your operation? Oh right you said you will be here.
Last time I looked we were not even in a recession let alone a depression. Get your facts straight.
“when your neighbor looses their home to foreclosure…that means recession. When YOU loose your home…” (post 148)
HEY! STDOMSGIRL!
It’s “loses” and “lose”…dammit…keep me straight, will ya?…LOL
Good to have Iman back today! 😉
There are SOME good things to be grateful for…
..no, MANY things to be grateful for. 🙂
Sorry for my rants…but had to do it.
Be well, all.
No when your neighbor looses their home, its poor money management, not the governments fault
goiman:
“you be here in the States or going overseas for your operation? Oh right you said you will be here.”
Yup. that’s what I said. 4 years ago I couldn’t HAVE this operation here, yet could in Europe.
I know my facts. Know yours.
Then go there! Why stay here?? Because you can’t beat the medical treatment you will get here! You’d have to wait 4 years on a list in Canada , England or France to get that operation. You twisted the facts to fit your own agenda.
goiman:
“No when your neighbor looses their home, its poor money management, not the governments fault”
I will refrain from typing what I am personally thinking about the asininity of that comment.
Unless you have been there (and God willing you won’t) best not to make generalizations of that type.
God help you if your job is outsourced after 21 years, and have paid your bills on time everyday, every month, without fail…and you wind up starting all over again at (if you’re lucky) 9.00 an hour, or even minimum wage.
But you obviously have been truly blessed…and I hope that stays that way for you. Unfortunately for millions of others…that’s not the case.
I know you will sleep well tonight,:snug , smug and secure.
Thats right resort to personal attacks ! Thats what all good liberals do. There are hard-luck stories all over. When you can’t manage your finances its not the bad ole gov’ts fault. It may be time to scale-back. Oh, thats hard now isn’t it, but reality sets in and it has to be done. Sell your home, buy a smaller home, but don’t look to the gov’t to be your “nanny”. I don’t want a nanny state, I’ll take care of my own, tyvm.
What my UK friends tell me is the national health system is great if you need emergency care for anything else you better have private insurance.
US approval process for procedures and pharmaceuticals is unnecessarily complex as compared to Europe. However this more about differences in the US legal system then medical competence.
Iave always said America is the best nation on earth but is t the best America it could be. Ever civilized county on earth has a National health care policy but us, how come we’re right and they’re all wrong?
Do you know there are other ideals that quallify as a National Health care plan than the Euro/Canaian Pln. One that makes sense is a repeublican Ideal to make any money spent on health care premiums be counted as pre tax dollars. i.e. if you make 30,000 a year and spend 5 and on health insurance you’re only taxed for 25,000 a year income. That’s the same benefit people who get Health Insurance through there employer get.
And GoIman where was the personal attack?
And I love you I’ll take care of my own attitude, Hooray for me, smurf everybody else.
And as for twisting facts to fit an agenda? Oh yea rhe right would never do that now, would they?
First I will throw my two cents in on Channel’s statement.
The Pharmaceutical Companies have run amuck. They spend millions on TV ads that show that this is right for you, but if you have “X, Y, or Z” ask your Doctor.
Spend less on advertising and more on reducing the cost of these medications is my feeling on that.
U.K’s NHS system is well run mostly. But I have to agree with Channel. If it’s and elective procedure get your number, you will wait a long time. I do have friends in the U.K. And even the Netherlands that have this type of health coverage. But most have their own coverage first, just in case. And it isn’t cheap.
Gasoline in the U.K and the Netherlands is off the charts. Why? It not only supplements the infrastructure of the Country but finances the Health Care System. Same with liquor and cigarettes there.
Now to Donald and Goiman:
The fact that Newsmax is popular it is because they report things that are way out there. About (I am guessing) 75 percent is true reporting. The other 25 percent is just to excite people. But Imus talks about NewsMax all the time. And I do not believe he is a conspiracy theorist.
We just need a better way in our United States of America to control the prices of drugs. We should also look at the insane “Malpractice Insurance Premiums” many Doctor’s are forced to pay to stay in business. Many have retired early because of this problem. Reform is needed. And I am talking about all aspects of Medical care. Primary, emergency, elective and the Pharmaceutical industry.
Why can Canada provide cheaper prices on drugs made here in the U.S.? Haven’t researched it, but there must be a specific reason behind it.
All in all Don is right. Goiman is somewhat correct. But there is no need to be adversaries here especially.
We as U.S. Citizens know that socialized medicine is a disaster in the making. We don’t need it. What we do need though is relief from Big Pharma and the Insurance Companies and the Oil Companies.
Could go on and explain my Diana’s situation. But that’s for another day.
Good God. We are truly in a mess here in the U.S. Something has to break soon or we will all be broke and unemployed.
I’ve been gone all day (busier than a one-armed paper-hanger) …trying to make a living so I don’t have to sell my house and by a smaller one …which I already did five years ago but whose counting …and since I’m self-employed now because I got laid-off seven years ago and apparently no one felt like hiring me full-time (I think it was an age thing but no one will actually admit that but when the deadlines get short and some punk kid right out of school screws something up all of a sudden my phone starts to ring) anyway, thank god it does ring because I pay me own insurance now, health, workman’s comp, the whole nine yards … I bet you don’t do that, goiman, I bet you have an employer that PAYS those things for you … that health insurance bill is always a fun one to tackle every month … Oh, I almost forgot, the taxes (what the hell do they do with that money anyway) Oh! That’s right we’re paying for the rebuilding of Iraq (why can’t they pay for it themselves, goiman …just like I have to pay for everything myself …hmmm? By the way you sound a little thin-skinned to me …what’s with that?
Thanks Laree, I’m glad you liked my earlier post.
SkiWolf …it’s Bella …right?
Problem with health care is not insurance it is affordability. Encouraged by WalMart Pharmacy and Clinic initiatives to provide affordable healthcare.
Correct Channel,
Walmart has done a great service to me and to Diana. The Company she works for has a Pharmacy that matches Walmart’s prices. So what would have been $95.00 the other day only cost $25.00. Wonder how Walmart does that? A loss leader, or they buy so much they get a big discount???
Affordability. Well if Doctors didn’t have to pay high insurance premiums they wouldn’t have to charge so much. If the Insurance Companies didn’t have to pay the high price for Hospitals and Doctors that charge too much, to cover their butts then they wouldn’t charge what they do.
So this is a conundrum. An intricate and difficult problem.
It’s the reverse trickle down effect. But it’s the Trickle up effect.
That is why the economy is currently going to the dogs so to speak.
The doctors and hospital insurance premiums are driven by litigation which in turn drives costs.
At the end of the day its about the lawyers, ask any doctor.
I have no clue as to who the poster that is mentioned by SkiWolf may be.
But if it’s Bella she should not be afraid of posting here. Bella is welcomed here.
She is a staunch Imus supporter. And has been from the beginning. Seems this election process has disturbed many.
We as Voters have a choice to make. And it will not be easy.
Let us all see who the VP candidates will be for each Party. Then we can have a better picture of what Our Country is in store for in the next 4 years.
Come on Bella. If it was you come out and play. It’s enlightening.
It’s not Bella and I’m not going to mention who I believe it is. I should not have brought it up so lets just drop it. Don’t really give a rats a.. anyhow. Not important.
Now on to this health insurance thing and medical costs.
We are in our mid 50’s and although I don’t like the saying, “there for but the grace of God go I’.
I mean we are ok financially, but could be in big trouble in the blink of an eye like many others. My wife and I are basically uninsurable due to past medical events. So, if it were not for company group insurance we would be unable to get insurance and if we did it would be a couple grand a month at least.
Article in the paper the other day about women being turned down for medical insurance because they had a C-Section to deliver their kid. Reason: Chances of them having another in the future and the asociated cost.
This country is indeed screwed up and as someone pointed out is the only country like this in the world when it comes to medical.
My brother and his wife almost moved to Canada this year because of perscription cost in US. My brother’s wife has a rare blood disorder that requires two injections a week and costs about $5,000/month. Aetna of course, said no mas. Fortunately, they won the appeal through the Aetna system.
I believe Canada limits by law what can be charged for drugs and that is why it’s so much cheaper. My sister-in-laws drug in Canada is less than half what it is in the US.
mike08exdem
You don’t know my situation and your assumptions are well, just that. You know what they say about those that assume…
I never said their wasn’t room for improvement, but I thank God EVERYDAY that I was born in the greatest country on this planet. GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. May he keep it a free and prosperous nation.
Now for a short break to bring this back to Imus.
Is it just me or does anyone else think he is better, more animated, more himself when he broadcasts from the ranch.
Any thoughts?
GoIman,
Talk about the Marijuana calling the cauldron African American, you don’t think his is an assumption?
When you can’t manage your finances its not the bad ole gov’ts fault. It may be time to scale-back.
Not everybody hits hard times because they can’t manage their finances. Also people are asking nothing more from the government than the government gives businesses. Government bails out corporations, gives them tax breaks to move our jobs over seas, gives them all kinds of protections. But the minute anyone want, tax breaks, protections, or bailouts in hard times you cry “Nanny state.! Nanny State!”
For some one who says you love America you don’t seem real fond of Americans. There’s more to this country than land and Government. It’s about people, We the People. And it’s time we remember that this is a government Of the People, For the people, by the people NOT Of EXXON for Haliburton by the Lobbyists.
Spoken succinctly, PT (did I spell that right?)
Great show today, Mr. Wolf …was it because he was at the ranch?
I dare not assume so, but maybe …who knows?
What about the key demographic “What you know Joe”?
Mike, I just have noticed that the shows he has done from the ranch this year are better. Here is my speculation.
Imus is a radio guy and is more comfortable in front of a mic by himself just doing his thing. It’s the way he was brought up and what he knows.
Or it could just be my imagination LOL. Anyhow, just a thought.
SkiWolf,
I do agree. Imus was never in a situation where he ran a panel of different personalities. In the years on MSNBC only Charles was on the set with him until either Larry Kenny or Rob Bartlett made an appearance. Though sometimes Rob Bartlett would remain throughout the 3 hours.
Being at his Ranch. With his family and now the children he feels more relaxed. You can tell more from the 9AM hour when he is off of RFD.
An excellent Show.
I wanted to finish up on that Times Article on Morning Joe’s ratings.
This is from June 4, 2008
Morning programs P2+ (25-54)
FOX & Friends – 1,106,000 viewers (367,000)
American Morning- 621,000 viewers (241,000)
Morning Joe- 464,000 viewers (141,000)
Morning Express w/ Meade- 250,000 viewers (109,000)
The Demo is what counts. And 141,000 25 to 54 year olds is hardly a success story.
Thanks Ski
No doubt the large audiences are driven by the interest in the Prez Primary. What is not factored in to this story is Imus was challenging American Morning for the #2 spot…
Listening the latest BruceTube “On the Nines” have to agree with Ski – Imus is much more comfortable. Bernie lets loose referring to Deirdre as “eye candy” and giving the Iman a hard time about McGreevey chauffeur. Karith Gasps at Robs Hillary! Great stuff.
Click | Here for BruceTube
I have to agree, that when Imus is at the Ranch…things are more spontaneous…and sometimes wickedly funny. This morning, before leaving for work…I was lucky enough to catch the first 15 minutes of the program. It was like “old times” again, for me at least. Can’t wait until I catch the entire broadcast later today! 🙂
P.T. :
Thank you for post #172.
It makes me feel so much better as a citizen of the good U.S. of A., that there are still rational people living in this country that have the capacity for reason, empathy and common sense to do more than just spew “Talking Points” and “Typical Us Against Them” mentalities.
I did not live through the 60’s when “America: Love It Or Leave It” to have that same bull crap shoved down my throat some 40+ years later again.
I love our country. I think we are a great country. Can we do better? Hell YES we can and should. Should I pack my bags and leave to another country? HELL NO. A responsible citizen should voice their opinions for changes to MAKE things work better, and insure all in our country get a fair shake.
Any person that lives in this country that wants to make things work better should never be told to “get out” of their country. That goes against the very nature of the founding principals that our Nation as it was founded.
Citizens have the inherent right to address grievances to their Government and have civil discourse to bring about fair and equitable solutions. That is what our Country is about. That is our “National Moral Compass”.
Somehow, somewhere and in many ways…we have floundered and abandoned those core values and principals.
Again, thank you for that eloquent post.
If no one receives the Nine AM to Ten AM hour the offer is still open to anyone. Just an email to me at bvb720@gmx.net
I was watching both Karith and Tony this morning and agreed with both which is odd because Karith really likes Sex in the City and I never got into the show. I mean I can relate to Shoe obbsession but I am busy putting my hot little hands on real shoes not watching Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoes on tv 🙂 The humping, well after being exposed to cow humping and Camel humpers re Bo Dietl, it is all really pedestrian isn’t it which brings me back to Shoes.
I couldn’t agree more with Karith, let R Kelly get in touch with his inner child at Joliet.
Tony, No I am not taking my husband to see Sex in the City, he would expect a in home teaser about the movie first. I can hear it now, just run the highlights by me, go ahead leave your shoes on if you want ROTFL
Good One Ree. You should be on Imus.
Here is yesterdays Comedy Highlights.

The link didn’t come out too well. Here it is.

I think the flow is smoother more organic when Imus is at the Ranch why is that? Is someone who is usually in the loop on set at Rainbow left out when Imus broadcast from Readers Digest New Mexico?
I did hear him say, I don’t want to read something that will cause it to pop up on Drudge then the blogs get ahold of it…I can see where he doesn’t want the vicious blogs to get ahold of something he broadcast, and make a meal out of a soundbyte…but here is the thing even if Barnicle rejects it, the blogsphere does effect what people are watching on TV. This is the highwire, where Imus doesn’t want a vicious attack and neither do I he still needs the blogs humming about him draws viewers and listeners, that is the fine line he is walking he needs some buzz on the blogs but not the buzzsaw like April 2007. The Buzz would help raise Imus in the Morning’s profile and help ratings. There is a price to playing it safe he is trying to navigate that fine line. It is like ChannelX stated, he is fighting with one arm tied behind his back.
We were discussing this on the Melungeon Group it is the anniversary of D Day.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Day
The more times I try to make peace at Imus Truth the more garbage flys out of the no name peoples mouths. People that didn’t suffer during April 2007.
And Bella has turned into the Wicked Witch of the West.
I welcomed you back here numerous times, and yet you down Donald Inks. Did you get CD’s from him Bella? No Charge no less?
Just wondering because if you did you are a hypocrit.
Illiteracy still flourishes at ImusTruth.
Ok they started this BS and I will carry it forward if they wish.
But as I told Channel and Keith. Lost my desire to fight ignorance.
But those posts above are just one example of what I consider the Illiterate crowd.
And I am not only surprized at Bella I am disgusted at her true hypocrisy.
PTBartman. Get over there and straighten them out right quick. Or a new war will begin.
Relax Bruce. Not worth the effort. Best you can do is to ignore and eventually the creatures will go away.
I know you were booted from that site, however, that was before my time around here so I can’t really say.
Anyhow, I do feel bad for whoever it is that created the site and runs it. Simply from the point-of-view to see what it has become today. Kind of sad, really. Much work for it to turn in to that. Too bad.
I didn’t mean to be the cause a “new war”. In fact, I’m sick of war. Both sites have their place. Both sites have their people that enjoy the mentality they gravitate to. I took offense by a certain poster ripping this particular site for no reason. I stated my position, took my ass whipping for it…no loss there. Thanks for sticking up for me Bruce, and I mean that sincerely. Just let it go. 🙂
There are more important issues threatening our lives at this time of our lives…
…these are just “websites”, not life or death matters.
“I just popped over to IMUSTIMES. Wow, is that place dead! Meanwhile, this site is hopping as usual!! I wonder what the difference is.”
This you call ripping this site?? Are you kidding??????
“I didn’t mean to be the cause (of) a “new war”. Correction.
Skiwolf, you are correct:
“Simply from the point-of-view to see what it has become today. Kind of sad, really. Much work for it to turn in to that. Too bad.”
That was my point. That was it all, in a nutshell. All I was saying was having been a longtime poster from long ago, and seeing “fake” named people and some of the oldsters allowing what the site once was, and allowed it to devolve into, was a shame.
There are a few posters that still have the stomach for it, and still post and try to be “a voice of reason”…and I did acknowledge them for their efforts. It’s really kind of sad, when you stop and really think about it.
It torqued me off for the unwarranted slam on this particular site for no other reason, other than trying to stir up trouble, or reinforce their own insecurity.
donaldinks
You never said where they slammed this site?? The poster asked a question.
And Donald I have your back in case more BS comes out of Imus Truth. Like your really need it.
Now I know Bella is full of crap. (Excuse my French). She is a bitter old Woman just like Hillary Clinton.
She thinks she has power over there. Well we shall see.
And SkiWolf. You and I once had words here. But now you are the voice of reason. The history of the debacle that occured at Imus Truth is long and drawn out. And too boring to repeat. Let’s say (Trolls) came and didn’t like what I was saying and I retailiated.
Now it seems the Trolls joined a Union and have become an Army. Must be a big Bridge they live under.
It’s Friday and didn’t even think this was going to occur until Donald was downed by (Bella Lugosi).
Dare them to come here. But they just don’t have the intestinal fortitude to.
Rest everyone. Fun things will be posted up on the tubes later.
GOIMAN:
“trying to stir up trouble, or reinforce their own insecurity.”
Yup. That would be you, of course.
Goiman,
Read post 186. And please stop asking silly questions.
sad, no proof
looks like your the one stirring up trouble
GOIMAN:
Since you asked for an answer (post#192), go back to IMUSTRUTH and read my answer. That’s where it was posted…not here…and by the way, why is that subject here…?
You can thank Bruce
#186
Then you obviously have my answer…so now
#1. You can read
#2. You can’t comprehend the English language…
#3 You have made a complete ass of yourself!
Mike,
Are you from Europe? Behaviour? That’s not American. Correct spelling is behaviour. That’s if you are a U.S. citizen.

Oh Donald i thought you didn’t put people down on this site?? TSK TSK, not very nice of you!!

Hey venividivici2u. Get off this channel. You have no Avatar.
Too lazy or too stupid. Go to your bridge and sleep for awhile.
And Goiman. What in the World are you talking about? Are you delusional too?
Go away, both of you.
The difference is: somewhat intelligent discussion of IMUS, life in general, politics and keeping vitriol and angst at a minimum…respecting different views, and expressing them without savaging others opinions and outright attacking others personal views… or the person that posts them.
Didn’t YOU say this about the other site Donald??
When this simple question was asked
“I just popped over to IMUSTIMES. Wow, is that place dead! Meanwhile, this site is hopping as usual!! I wonder what the difference is.”
venividivici2u
I don’t recall putting anyone down tonight on the site. If someone makes a complete ass of themselves, they more or less did it on their own. I am making an observation as an innocent bystander. 😉
By the way, after many months of suffering trolls and flamers…I’m quite used to them. Your approach is not new or novel. Old school maybe.
This is going to be fun. I can see the hits on the site going up by the minute.
By the way. We post proper comments. Not ignorant ones like Imus Truth does.
In 5 months this site is at 110,925 views.
How many does Imus Truth have. Less but more BS.
Stupid is as stupid does venividivici2u. And you my friend are truly stupid. But you write pretty well for a troll.
Your passive-agressive approach to the other site is so obvious, Donald. Enough, you have been exposed.
venividivici2u
“I wonder what the difference is.”
How many times…no, make this the last time for you:
The answer to the question was posted at another site. Read it and the answer THERE. Not here. Post your response THERE, not HERE! Or are you that confused as to what site you are on?
THAT is where the original posters question was asked, that’s where it was answered. Read it there. Kind of simple, really.
HELLOOOOO BRUCE POSTED IT HEARRRRRRRRRRR WAKE UP!!
Exposed???????? Huh?
Exposed for what Mr. venividivici2u. Or are you a shemale?
Get off this site now. Your presence here is unwanted. And your attacks are unwarranted.
Period. End of Story.
Keep going Donald. It’s great therapy.
You started it with you passve-agressive answer. Whats the difference WHERE is was posted??
Why are you here venividivici2u? Just to stir up the pot. Well you found the wrong person. Why? Because I can out write you and outwit you.
Remember that National Spelling Bee. The word was NUMBNAH. Something placed between the saddle and a horses back. And do you remember the young boy who said “NUMBNUTS”.
Guess what. You are a NUMBNUTS.
Just getting warmed up. Keep it up. I have a lot of time.
Signing off for the evening little troll…
passively/aggressively speaking , of course…LMAO…
thats you…..
You are right Ski,
It really isn’t worth it.
Tomorrow is another day. venividivici2u will be sleeping under his bridge with all the other trolls and maybe even (Bella Lugosi). Though think she is beyond that age for anything like that. Old dried up prune. Plus someone who cannot understand Dick Gregory using the “N” word in a discussion. That’s why she left. Too sensitive.
Let it rest.
189 donaldinks:
I didn’t mean to be the cause a “new war”.
Why did Donald apologize if he did nothing?
Boy, this is the most posting done here in a long time!!
With all due respect to those that have been here much longer than I have, I ask that we don’t let this site become like the other.
We don’t need the racists, bigots and those that want to complain about everything. They are going to be what they are regardless of where they post. They hate the new show and they are going to talk about how much they hate it until hell freezes over.
The way to prevent that is to ignore them. IMO. Please, we don’t need or want them here. Keep it up an they will come. Sad as that would be.
I took refuge here on this site from them. Don’t want to have to leave here too.
Goiman,
Please go to Imus Truth and read what Donald said. He attacked no one. And his apology was from his heart not from his ass like you are.
The most posting on this site is correct. The reason!
If you have nothing to say good, don’t say it.
At 7:13 PM EDT the site at 10925 views. And now has at 7:50 PM EDT 110,983.
68 views in 37 minutes. Wonder who’s watching you make a fool of yourself?
Again I agree Ski.
But I go with the flow sometimes. And it isn’t pretty.
So I will go now and finish my audio editing for everyone’s pleasure tomorrow.
Bruce you should take you own advice! Youv’e been posting some pretty hateful things: Old dried up prune: remember that gem??
And I read what Donald said and know why he apologized, only now he won’t admit to it.
What a pantload those last dozen or so posts were! Amazing how things can change in just a few short hours.
Just a short semi-serious answer to your question of this morning, Skiwolf …the shows may actually be better from the ranch because that’s where Imus really would rather be at this moment in time (the ranch HAS become his real calling) …it’s all a matter of ones frame of mind, don’t you think?
The rest of this stuff that went on here today is …what did Kurt Vonnegut call it …doodlysquat? I’m sure they’ll all figure it out …and if they don’t, who cares?
That’s the real quote Mike, thanks
Is it summer, I must be boycotting MSNBC 😉 too funny the cable channel, that couldn’t shoot straight.

Oh this is funny McCain reaching out to Hillary Voters using ABBA.
http://www.johnmccain.com/mccainreport/
I wish Imus would have Michelle Malkin fill in next break, let her interview and take calls is the next break June 18th?
Thanks Ree,
The McCain site with Abba was very enlightening. I reposted your link on the new Republic for disgruntled Hillary supporters.
The other attempt died in the spam filter, or my HTML didn’t work.
Let’s hope the Democratic party fractures more. If Obama takes Hillary as his running mate this might be a problem for us American’s but more so for Obama.
I was VERY impressed with Hillary Clinton’s speech this afternoon. In fact, historically…10 years hence, there will be quotes galore from in it history books.
One of my favorite lines (among many) was this one: (not a verbatim quote, but the general wording of it)
“We may have not shattered the “Glass Ceiling”, but there are about 18 million cracks in it today.”
It was a great speech, and She did very well in her “thank you to the troops” moment.
When credit is due, I for one will be more than happy to oblige.
“Never Argue with an Idiot….They’ll drag you down to their level!”

Charles Barkley is a lot, and I mean a lot smarter then I gave him
credit for.
Quote of the week from our esteemed friend Sir Charles Barkley:
“Poor People have been voting for Democrats for the last 50 years,
…………..and they are still poor.”
That’s funny right there…I don’t care what you say…LOL {-)
…Off the “beaten” track, and on the subject of humor…I hope you all enjoy these.
If you remember the Original Hollywood Squares and its comics, this may bring a tear to your eyes. These great questions and answers are from the days when ‘ Hollywood Squares’ game show responses were spontaneous, not scripted, as they are now. Peter Marshall was the host asking the questions, of course.

A. Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army.
Q. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?
A. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn’t neglected.
Q. Back in the old days, when Great Grandpa put horseradish on his head, what was he trying to do?
A. George Gobel: Get it in his mouth.
Q. Who stays pregnant for a longer period of time, your wife or your elephant?
A. Paul Lynde: Who told you about my elephant?
Q. When a couple have a baby, who is responsible for its sex?
A. Charley Weaver: I’ll lend him the car, the rest is up to him.
Q. Jackie Gleason recently revealed that he firmly believes in them and has actually seen them on at least two occasions. What are they?
A. Charley Weaver: His feet.
Q. According to Ann Landers, what are two things you should never do in bed?

…would that be considered P.C? 😉
….ahhhhh, the good old days.
Donaldinks: Thanks for those jokes – they’re what we call gentle humor – yup ~ Ah! The good old days! 🙂
Maureen dowd on Hillary’s concession speech
I ask the other reasonable posters on this website, is what Bruce posted on Imus Truth the posting of a rational person?
Why does he continue to try to start trouble at Imus Truth. He is acting like a 9 year-old, though I hate to defame them.
Also, was Donald inks a part of this?

A very special message from Donald Inks to one Lugosi here.
He has a medical condition regarding his shoulder that prohibits him from posting right now.
To BLugosi. The Prune and Prude.
“He (or She) who spends most of their time with their Head up their butt’s, usually has a crappy outlook upon most everything in general.” Had to Paraphase that a little.
God bless you Bella. Wouldn’t wish you to have a problem with your hemorrhoid problem again.

That’s not Bruce from florida who posts here. And I don’t know what the vendetta with you guys over there is (is that what the Veni in VeniVidVici stands for, Vendetta?) I don’t know what your game is Veni but it’s getting real old real quick. Bruce doesn’t post there, in fact he can’t. Anybody can post over there under just about any name.
Case in point;
I really wish the games would end.
I’m sorry for above post, I lost my head. I took the name of a great poster from the “Other” website to make that person look foolish, when in fact I’m the idiot. So sorry for actin childish.

American women made18 million cracks in the ‘Glass Ceiling’ thanks to our girl, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Bravo Lovey. 🙂
Vēnī, vīdī, vīcī (pronounced [ˈweːniː ˈwiːdiː ˈwiːkiː] in Classical Latin or [ˈveni ˈvidi ˈvitʃi] in Vulgar Latin) is a famous Latin sentence spoken by Julius Caesar in 47 BC.[1] It translates as “I came, I saw, I conquered.”
I know Veni. He was referring to Cleopatra. Caesar was notorious for making love with his eyes closed which is why it’s Veni, Vidi not Vidi Veni.
Now here’s a quote…
Go away kid, your bothering me.
W.C. Fields
You started it , not I.
Au contraire, Mon frer,
You came over here making accusations and slandering posters from this site. And when I pointed out your error, you started playing childish games both here and there.
Here’s another quote,
Go, and never darken my towels again.
Groucho Marx
here’s a quote “shove it” you posted under my name, its here for all to see how you made an ass out of yourself. Now be a good little boy and stop complaining.
I don’t deny I did. And s Shove it the best you can come up with. Sigh, I hate when I enter a battle of the wits with an unarmed opponent. I only did that to prove the point that just because you come over here quoting Bruce doesn’t mean it was Bruce. In fact I’m almost convinced it was you. The syntax is amazingly similar.
I didn’t make an ass of myself and I ain’t your boy. And whatever happened to “Well here at ImusTruth we don’t result to personal attacks?”
Speaking of attacks…
I aughta join a club and beat you over the head with it.
Groucho Marx
Well, since you didn’t know the meaning of venividivici2u, I didn’t want to overwhelm you with something else you couldn’t figure out.
While you act like a little boy, I think a child has more sense than you. Its quite obvious who the poster was, though could have been even you now that we see you post under various pseudonyms. Oh yea, to help: n. A fictitious name, especially a pen name.
That’ right, try to “paint me with your own brush.” That’s one of two times that I’ve posted under a “Nom De Plume” ( Oh yeah, to help: n. A fictitious name, especially a pen name. See: pseudonyms) My ego is far to large to not take credit for my own work.
Unlike you I consider my self a cunning linguist (Oh yeah, to help: it means I’m good with tongues) and don’t need to hide behind anonymity. I did it once here to help somebody learn how to change their screen name. And I did it once there to prove my point that your alleged Bruce quote could have been written by anybody except for him (his IP address has been blocked from that site.)
Obviously someone over there posted it to stir up fecal matter, and since the only fecal matter stirrer over here is you, well if the brogan isn’t too tight, adorn your foot with it.
See, everybody on both sites know me pretty well so your petty games won’t work . Maybe its not me who needs to grow up.
And the quote for this post;
The bed that you make
Thats the one you gotta lie on
When you point, your finger cos your plan fell through
You got three more fingers pointing back at you
Mark Knopfler
You suffer from fixated narcissistic discharge .
now, off with your head!
And you suffer from Diarrhea of the cerebellum leaking from your oral orifice or in his case emanating from the digits of the prehensile extremity of your superior limbs.
I have nothing but confidence in you. And very little of that.
Groucho Marx
Big Roy is still the Gold Standard of Imus Blogging. Updates, clips reviews daily. An incredible amount of effort but I would check it every day. Am I the only person who misses the ImusBlog?
“I came, I saw, I conquered.” You conquered nothing venividivici but to make an ass out of yourself.
So you believe I act as a 9 year old? Well guess I doubled in age since Friday when I was 4.
But one thing I will say. You got off your lazy butt and made an Avatar. Great job? What’s the picture of, your Mother’s tampax?
Get out and stay out you leech on society. Take your proverbs and big words and say something to Bella Lugosi on Imus Truth. Where the true ignorant write their incessant posts under fictitious names.
Mr. Bartman is well known on both sites. I cannot speak for him but he is no fool. He tells it like he sees it.
And he see’s right through you. Butt-Hole.
No, I too miss his blog. Do you know whatever happend to him?
I wouldn’t expect much else from you Bruce, thanks for the confirmation :)))))
You are welcome venividivici. Love your style. And never expect less from me when you come here an attack a friend of mine.
Sometimes you have to get down in the mud with the real trolls and just tell it like it is.
That’s if you know what Is, Is?
Good Day.
It’s good to see everyone enjoying themselves – excellent! Big Roy was an enigma, a dedicated I-blogger who remains anonymous to this day!
She won a one way ticket back to New York in my opinion, but then again Obama may be foolish enough to pick him as a running mate. What a disaster
Thank you Channel
Oh, by the way Bruce I did not attack your friend. I merely pointed out the nasty post you left for Bella and he tried to deny it was yours
Thanks for letting us all know that it was INDEED you.
Yes Veni,
That’s me. Well most are. Not sure about a few of them though.
But as wise as you are you can figure it out.
OH! I meant Wise-Ass.
How about them Cubies?
Quoting my brother whenever the family gets out of control.
Don’t know about you all but my AC sucks. Damn. Price you pay for gowing up in a dry climate and now living in humidity central. I HATE NJ!
Yes Ski,
New Jersey is a very humid State. Lived there from the time I was born until 1991. Or 42 years almost.
We never had central air. But as an adolescent had a window unit for my upstairs room.
Finally my parents got a couple more for downstairs.
What’s wrong with your AC?
My Mom sent me this they found water on mars.
This is about Harlem but over the weekend D.C. was reporting the samething the high murder count already exceeding the whole of last year they had parades in Pennsylvania a month or so back neighborhoods taking a stand against the murder rate “Shootings” This isn’t new Jesse Jackson was in Chicago area he was speaking to gun violence, what is going on under the radar “gun violence” on the rise across the major urban centers across the country?

I have been listening to the last hour of Imus in the Morning streaming online that was pretty good. Russert on in the last hour.
MSNBC trailing our discussion last week, I left a comment. They can call me whatever they want just don’t call me late to dinner 🙂 I have absolutely no problem being called Hillbilly. Andrea Mitchell on the other hand she has a problem with people who use their hands to make a living? You know the people who usually vote Democrat and are referred to as Working Class as if blue color working people were inferior? Growing up this is what you hear out of working class folks “Work Smarter not Harder” and “If you ain’t Learnin you’re Earnin” simple messages to our children, get educated and do better or don’t and get stuck in low paying menial laborius go no where job. Inferior or not into trying to Impress others with trappings of their so important “careers” Andrea Mitchell is predictable is that a superior quality?
Imus without all the trappings, technology and guests falls back to his radio roots and actually delivers a good show.
Obama says he would impose oil windfall profits tax
Excellent NYT’s article Channel,
I never thought that way. When you think of the Mom and Pop gas stations that are going out of business you have to all realize something.
If they cannot pay for the gas then they are cut off. So they must go with the flow and charge whatever to have the money in their bank accounts to pay for the next delivery.
Simple economics. But many people, especially the Democrat Population look at it backwards.
Sorry gang. Obama and whoever his running mate is will lose. McCain will win because of Obama’s inability to recognize the simplest things.
This is my opinion. And I have approved my own message.
Just so those on Imus Truth do not believe I was the one who posted these:
Who the heck is ISSTEVE? Now there is a troll. And you accuse me of this BS.
Good Grief.
ISSTEVE: Leave this site and find a hole to crawl into or your butt will be kicked from one side of your leftist views to the other.
Good God people. That one is a Nut! And somebody will crack his shell soon.

What do we have here? Moe, Larry and Curly.
I dont’ know about the question to Donald Inks though. Was that a sarcastic question or was it a true question to Donald?
Personally I love the Imus show no matter what anyone thinks. He turned junk into gold today. And whipped Karith a bit. He is the same Imus. And as Ree said you must listen to the 9 to 10 O’Clock hour to feel it.
Though today it could have been a train wreck.
Posted by: Bruce | Monday, June 09, 2008 at 07:42 PM
Let me assure you I was. And no I am not the idiot IsSteve. Or Larry, Moe and Curly. LOL
Get over it. These trolls are coming in at an increasing pace. On both sites.
