Imus To Put New Program Director To The Test!
Laurie Cantillo WABC Program Director
Imus and Bernie met with Laurie Cantillo, the new boss yesterday. She informed Imus that he can take more chances because he now has station management which will back him up! Imus’ response? Basically told her the only two people at the company he distrusted more then her were her bosses!
That’s what Imus said but is it my imagination or did Bernie play a bigger role in the program today. RFD had a shot of Bernie doing his producer thing, kissing the I-butt. He had a great big smile on that irish mug, like we haven’t seen since before the troubles.
Imus said he is going to see if Laurie meant what she said, declaring the Cardinal returns tomorrow!

Didn’t have a chance to watch the whole show today but for 20 minutes, and then, leaving for work (got to see Bernie “picking his nose” on camera… ;-)).
Soooo… I did catch the Iman bring up the subject of the new program director…and her “desire” for him to become a bit more “edgier”, and that the station would have his back.
I told my wife…oh, shit…, here we go again…LOL.
I hope WABC does INDEED have his back, and the only “problem” I foresee is RFD and how THEY will react.
I say, let ‘er rip Iman. It’s about time. He seems “itching” for some mischief, and more bawdy banter.
He could do better with a new simulcast outlet for television than RFD. Maybe News Corp (FOX) might pick him up…seeing as they posted such a huge 8.4 Billion quarterly loss due to advertising revenue.
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/c4886bb6-f3c7-11dd-9c4b-0000779fd2ac.html
Hmmm…
Did I say “Fox…posted such a huge 8.4 Billion quarterly loss due to advertising revenue.”?
Not so:
“The one bright spot was the cable networks segment, where higher affiliate fees and advertising revenue from Fox News boosted operating profit by 27 per cent to $428m. The cable news channel recorded its highest rated quarter ever in prime time with coverage of the US elections.”
I do believe Imus could bring in an even bigger chunk of ad revenue for News Corp.
He sure is getting it done at WABC. 🙂
Actually, it is my belief that the show has been “edging” back to it’s former self since around the 1st of the year. Bernie has been getting more exposure and camera time for a number of weeks now. The bit by Tony today as a “black Paul Harvey” was very good. Karith of course, still sucks and always will. I guess she’s there for some reason……..
Donald, no matter what one thinks of Fox News they are absolutely kicking butt. Pretty amazing numbers out of Hannity and Beck. Olberbutt must be close to a complete meltdown.
Donald,
You have the presentation I sent you. Has the audio of that portion.

Good Luck Brent Mason!
It’s been a good two days…seeing and hearing the Iman and the gang back in old form again.
I hope the trend c o n t i u e s …. 😉
Interesting tidbit for you. Just in the car and was listening to Kudlow on WABC. Anyhow, long promo for IITM came on and amazingly the whole thing was Bernie as the Cardinal. Very cool. It was the bit about 007/11’s, Scumbag Millionaire, etc. Does look like things might be loosening up bit.

It looks like the Dems newest target is Rush Limbaugh, he is there new Boogey Man, and last week Imus was defending O’Reilly as you pointed out. Imus said, O’Reilly isn’t a racist the man is very friendly he will rub a sandwich all over you in the shower, he doesn’t care what color you are LOL. Imus still workin the loofah -falafel thing. The Kos kids have been paying attention, I don’t want to link to them.
Hey, maybe I’ll tune in to if if the I-Man is back! 🙂 BUMP the KOS KIDS! THEY CAN KISS MY A$$! 😦
Waiting for an MRI appointment malignant brain tumors go undiagnosed. Once diagnosed the brain tumors may go untreated for months Middle aged persons denied hip replacements, what’s that about? Is this what we have to look forward to?
My Step-sister has been bounced around from intensive care to a nursing home (back and forth since just before this past Christmas, suffering from paralysis of her lower extremities, including her feet, her ability to pass urine, or excrement) by mediocre coverage by a “reputable, well respected” private insurance health care program.
When we get past the ideology, that health care is a “privilege”, to just a basic right in “the Greatest Nation on Earth”…maybe, just maybe…we might get somewhere.
If I had my way, health care for the citizens of this Nation would be covered…period. You can start by eliminating the “health insurance industry”. There is one boondoggle of a corporate shell game riddled by waste and outright fraud (much as our Congress and Senate).
Better we be covered by the same standards that our illustrious elected officials in Washington get.
The private insurance racket is one of the most costly, wasteful, and inept systems we have (next to Congress and the Senate)…whether it be auto insurance, life insurance, home insurance or health insurance.
The bottom line is this:
If you can afford the “gold standard” of insurance (which most Americans can not), it’s needed and worthwhile. If you can’t, you are merely told to die.
Summary?
If you can afford to live, you live. If not…then just die…. in the “Greatest Nation” on Earth”.
Now, let’s hear about the “sanctity of life” from the bozos in Congress and the Senate. Makes me sick every time they bring it up. Spare the embreos, let a mature human being die.
Survival of the richest? Hmmmm….
Got to be a better way, my friends.
Maybe Italy’s’ “Lawmakers” are as stupid as Bill Frist and “others” were, here in our country, during the infamous Terry Schiavo “convene an emergency session to save a life” fiasco …
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A48119-2005Mar18.html
Political crap, all of it.
“ROME – The woman at the heart of a bitter right-to-die debate died Monday, just as lawmakers began debating a bill designed to keep her alive, news reports said. Eluana Englaro, 38, had been in a vegetative state since she was in a car accident 17 years ago.”

Imagine the resources and money involved in these instances…yet people who actually can be saved and rehabilitated are left to rot.
Unconscionable, repugnant, and hypocritical.
The difference between the Canadian and British healthcare systems is People in Britain can purchase private healthcare insurance and see doctors without government approval. The similarities are marginally effective healthcare for those who can’t afford private care.
Have no confidence that the US Government can do a better job of providing healthcare then either the Canadian or British governments.
Just like any government run healthcare system the US will eventually tell the citizens to go off and die because they are to old or to sick or just to expensive to keep around.
ChannelXRFR.
“Just like any government run health care system the US will eventually tell the citizens to go off and die because they are to old or to sick or just to expensive to keep around.”
Just in time or the baby boomers to be retiring and swelling the need for a competent Health Care System. Although to be fair we all deserve a competent health care system, this isn’t generational but I think this is the Government’s response- reaction to the “Stress” the system is coming under. Mommy will take care of us, the question is will she be a good mother 🙂
My mother in law who has worked in hospitals, told me during the campaign she thought Hillary, had the best plan with mandatory health insurance. Everyone gets covered so the rest of us don’t pick up the tab for those who can afford Health Insurance but opt out – playing the odds they won’t need it. This way the cost of care goes down because the distribution for health care cost is more evenly distributed.
The Health Care Industry it’s self doesn’t seem to meet an over all industry standard. I don’t know why because of their lobbyist? Remember the old patient’s bill of rights?

“…the US will eventually tell the citizens to go off and die because they are to old or to sick or just to expensive to keep around.”
They already have…and are still doing so.
Not a good prognosis.
When we can get over the “hyperbole and grandstanding” hypocrisy of those that defend and promote the welfare of those precious embryos, and reconcile the same righteousness and “sanctity of life” for those that are alive , old, and infirm…I will be surprised.
I’m not holding my breath until THAT happens (it’s not healthy in this situation of hypocrisy).
“The Health Care Industry it’s self doesn’t seem to meet an over all industry standard. I don’t know why…”
The reason why? It is in the “private sector”, and managed, not by physicians, rather, corporate businesses and conglomerates that really don’t know shit about health care and needs. Pretty simple.
I can not tell you how many physicians that have told me about the bureaucracy and waste in these “health” insurance corporations. The corporations goal is to MAKE MONEY. The physicians goal is to heal and save lives…and these two entities are irreconcilable.
Personally, I love these ChanX and Donald little fights.
I saw X’s first post regarding Health Care and I said, ut oh here we go. I knew X was baiting Donald for a bit of a fight.
Good stuff you two………. Go for it. Burp!!!!!
🙂 🙂
Just wanted put a little data into the socialized medicine discussion.
The corporations goal is to MAKE MONEY. The physicians goal is to heal and save lives…and these two entities are irreconcilable.
Physicians goals are not financial? Dr Quinn Medicine Woman, that was a long time ago…
When Imus’s book comes out, how will he plug it? Will he go on Oprah and the View?
I haven’t read huffington post in awhile it has really changed.

Here they come, ready or not. Feel the water getting warmer?
Are you ready for the House Bill titled ‘HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009’. It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental and physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and any ownership changes even if a private sale. Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms. This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by soon to be Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Will we the citizenry be as lucky this time?
Pass this on to everyone who believes in strict Constitutionalism and remember that laws only apply to those who obey them. Criminals by definition and nature do not abide by laws. New laws and restrictions only apply to the law abiding citizen and are not written with the criminal in mind. With guns, it is not about having laws on the books to prosecute individuals, it is about taking guns away from the people so that no one has them in the first place. One last item to note, when assuming power and creating a facist state, Hitler was a proponent of strong gun laws because a disarmed populace was much easier to control than an armed one. The kings of old also outlawed weapons of any kind in any region that they conquered to quell the ability of the citizens to uprise against them.
The Founding Fathers of this nation understood all of the above and because of this they included the second amendment in the constitution.. In fact, they knew that at some point in every society’s life span that the need for the population to arise came about. To this end they made the right to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical state an absolute right that could not be revoked. They did this because the first thing tyrants and despots do is to remove a population’s right to defend themselves. When this is done, the tyrants have no problem with the destruction of society as we know it.
Send this on to all true patriots! Protect your Second Amendment!
I googled the bill-here’s web link but it is not the Congerssional reserach site. B
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/text
Here’s the problem with guns. They tend to go off and are designed to do just that. The constitution is out-of-date and irrelevant in today’s world on this issue. Time to move on.
Imagine Imus not packing heat? Problem I have the type of gun control the congress is considering is the crooks will end up with undocumented weapons.
BTW pound for pound may I suggest the M4 Carbine for self defense wikipedia.com
Apparently Timothy Geithner’s road show yesterday provided an Imus epiphany. Imus to his credit criticized Barrack Obama’s stimulus plan as well as Geithner’s performance in presenting TARP II..

Hey Donald, I hope you took my comment about “a little fight” with the humor in which it was intended. I meant nothing more than having a bit of a chuckle.
ChanX I have some sympathy for the M4 as our son is currently carting one around Fort Benning. 2-19 Infantry, 198th INBDE. Graduation is May 1.
skiwolf,
Are you going to the graduation? Personally I never miss a graduation or promotion ceremony. I get a certain sense of confidence in the leadership, training and camaraderie the military provides out of the ceremony. Afterwards, I make it a point to talk to the senior leadership, both officers and enlisted.
Family and fellow travelers look forward to dinner at the best steak restaurant in the area!

X, Oh yeah we’ll be there as will many members of our family, both uncles, etc. He also gets a 36 hour pass for Easter so we’ll be there that weekend as well. “Rock Solid” to quote the shield of his unit, The Rock of Chickamauga. Named after a Civil War General. Just sent our son a book from Amazon about the guy, General George H. Thomas. Be interesting to see if the Sergeants give it to him. They probably will is my guess.

My second great grandfather served under General Thomas he and his brother Thomas Newland were at Chickamauga. He was blinded by the canon smoke sent to a hospital, and his brother Thomas, joined Sherman for the march to the sea.

There is a photo of Grandpa, I put up online one of the genealogy web pages for Washington Co.,Pa. You can tell he is blind he is sitting with his 3rd wife, who he also outlived, and he is holding a book in his hand that reads “after death what” he was a superintendent of Sunday school in Butler Co.,Kansas. The Thomas Newland family, has an oral history of when the family first left Pennsylvania, I think it was the 1850 time period, they took a boat from Wheeling West, Virginia, and one of the kids remembered the ice breaking in the water as the boat moved. Seems appropriate to remember the Civil War Veterans on Lincoln’s Birthday. Thomas Newland did come back from the War.

I tried to Google the unit with benning army mil 198th, and I get the same message.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
Your son has to be happier going through training now then summer when it is really miserable hot in Georgia.
laree, Yeah I’ve had that happen on a number of occasions. One thing the military does not seem up to speed about are web related things. Kind of pisses me off to be honest. Very annoying to say the least. Don’t really have any advice. When I emailed the link to my wife at work she had the same problem. Don’t know what’s up with that????
Here is the home page link. From there you can go to the 198th and then to the 2-19. Maybe that will work.
https://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/index.asp
Here seems to be the problem. I use Mozilla FireFox as my browser. Just tried it using MS IE and got the same problem.
Don’t know what to tell you. I’ll try finding it from IE and reposting????? Don’t know?????
Here seems to be the problem. I’m on IE right now and will post the link again. What you have to do when IE gives you the strange message is just click on the Button that says continue to Website. Works fine.

I followed your directions and used IE it worked. That is pretty cool. I love the inscription below The Rock of Chickamauga “Rock Steady” Is your son thinking about going into the Army Rangers or is he going to stay in infantry? I noticed if you Google 198th infantry brigade, it will let you bring up some history but it appears whatever is associated with present Ft Benning and current info is what needs the trusted certificate. the “mil” address.
When I went out today, I bought myself a copy of Time’s bicentennial issue of Abraham Lincoln An illustrated history of his life and times.
Abraham Lincoln born 12 Feb 1809, 200 years ago today.
I tried to find a photo cover of the edition but the only copy I found was on ebay.
Time does have some photos up online.

There is this old family story that my 3rd Great Grandmother Mary “Polly” (Campbell) Lambert, born 1815 Clear Creek, Knox Co.,Ky., was a distant cousin of Lincolns. I have never found the reason why? This was passed down in the family. The Masons have heard the story too, Grandma’s mother was Sarah (Mason) Campbell.
Maybe this is where the Campbell story comes from?
My David Campbell died in the 1820s in Knox Co.,Ky., his family appears to have come out of Augusta Co.,Va., he was left a saddle by an Alexander Campbell 1811 in Knox Co.,Ky., but no relationship was stated. He did name a son Alexander Campbell..so who knows. This Campbell genealogy claims a David McCord Campbell was a second cousin to Lincoln.
http://philnorf.tripod.com/newpage5.htm
Laree, yeah our son signed an “Option 40” contract which is the path to become a Ranger.
Next stop after Basic and AIT ( Advanced Individual Training ) is Airborne, which is four weeks and RIP ( Ranger Indoctrination Program ) which is three weeks. If he makes all that he would be assigned to a Ranger Battalion for training.
Keep in mind though that all of that is based on performance and there are no guarantees. Even to get into Airborne is tough. Ranger is something else.
One thing I’ve learned is that the guys who do this have to be very smart and very fit. This is not one’s normal perception of someone who joins the Army. I know one thing and that is I never could have done it.
skiwolf
We do have highly intelligent dangerous people protecting us. I hope your son does make it into the Rangers. My brother in law related stories to me about what happened during his Ranger training. Stories that were pretty humorous those guys are tough, and they have a really good sense of humor. I remember my brother in law teasing his brother, my husband about his being in better shape then he expected because he didn’t expect that from someone in logistics -supply, there are these stereotypes all through the Army.
skiwolf,
Special Warfare, best of luck to your son.
We have found the challenge in getting through the training is not the PT (turns out you can PT all day and night) it’s the injuries that set one back.
Solution: “Ranger Candy: 800-milligram Motrin”
The Yellow Rose of Texas, I don’t think Black History Month is trivial. I don’t think an Immigrant Kenyan’s son, would have been elected to the highest office in the land if it had not been for all those that came before him. Just saying maybe the month of February has calcified into school children’s essays, who would be responsible for that rote behavior?
Debra Dickerson made a point about the trivializing of black history month this morning. Obama is now part of our collective history he is the fork in the road.

The Bickersons Don and Deirdre had me rolling today. Normally I just shut it down, it just struck me as hillarious this am. Seemingly Deirdre was not prepared for a single question Imus threw her way, quickly resulting in the Imus’ sniping at each other.
Lupica called in to say that there was no need for him to call Imus this evening since he already heard the Imus’ going at each other.
Damn I missed the “Bickersons” this morning. Was busy having the annual DRE such fun that it is.
Aside from that I’ve been too busy watching Donald stick an Ice Pick in his ear on Imus Truth. Very funny stuff.

Laura Ingraham from DOWNTOWN this morning. Side splitting funny stuff and ohhhhhhhh so true. If you didn’t hear it try and catch the podcast. Great stuff.
I can’t believe that Karith’s Chihuahua is trying to make her- her bitch 🙂 Karith the dog is not gay it is trying to establish pack order. Apparently it excepts Mat with one (T) as the Alpha Male, now it is establishing it’s place as his “mate” pushy little bitch LOL! It sounds like it wasn’t weened yet when they got it otherwise it wouldn’t be trying to nurse. They need to get another little dog same sex so it has company. Dogs love people, they are great companions but what makes Dogs really happy is another Dog like them it gets lonely. When my best friend died “Pooners” a Cur, our Shepherd “Voodoo” was so distraught, she was stuck to me like glue. I told my husband after about a year, she needed some Dog company. That is when we got the American Bulldog “Hooch” who also tries to hump everything. That’s right we bought our Dog a Dog!
The Best Friend I have ever had.
http://www.puppiesanddogsforsale.com/dog_breed_info/BlackMouthCur.asp
Temperament: The Black Mouth Cur has a disposition unlike any other breed or strain of cur dog. The dog can be trained to be very protective of property and family. You can predict what they will do under stressful situations. They have a very even temperament and are loyal to their masters and all members of the family that raises them. Black Mouth Curs are exceptionally affectionate toward women and children. They will often not let a strange man even touch them, which makes it almost impossible for them to be stolen. They will give their life (if needed) to protect their master.
The above is true a friend tried to tickle our child, when she was young -little, and our dog was right on top on him snarling. The Friend said, don’t punish him, he is just doing what he is supposed to. I said, don’t worry I wasn’t going to 😉
I LOVE DOGS!

“The Department of Justice filed a suit seeking to force UBS to disclose the holders of accounts with about $14.8bn in assets. It alleged UBS, Switzerland’s biggest bank, engaged in cross-border securities transactions in the US that it knew violated security laws and helped US taxpayers set up dummy offshore companies.
UBS said it would challenge enforcement of the complaint.
The complaint came a day after UBS agreed pay $780m in fines and turn over about 250 names to the US as part of a settlement of two other US government lawsuits in which it admitted having enabled clients to evade taxes.”

Pretty Funny, I was laughing out loud at Matt’s graph samples he came up with- using the Friedman Model.
I wonder though is this Taibbi’s way of hitting Friedman with a pie? Remember Coulter and Friedman, have been targets of pies by I guess college kids. Matt can’t get close enough to hit Friedman with an actual pie. So he is slinging these post at him.

The Game Plan
Everything old is a new again:) Clinton redux – Obama isn’t winging it.

Laree I’ll make you a deal. If you change the colors on your blog so I can read it then I’ll start to read it. Some friendly advice. All the major news organizations — all of them — use black type on a white or very light background. Reason is it makes it readable. “Reverse Type” as it’s called is hard to read and that’s why it’s so seldom used. I used to do this for a living in case you are wondering if I’m talking out my you know what………….
Ski 🙂
Laree, I also can’t read your blog because of the colors. I had thought maybe it was just my antique computer….
My daughter likes the colors she is stylin not thinking technical part. I just got off the phone with her, I will see if I can get her to change the color scheme to lighten the background up some. If I do it I could mess something else up 🙂 It could turn out white with some of the type used for hyper links looking florescent that doesn’t help either. I tried making the font bold black to make it stand out more.
Ah! This board is SO refreshing! Good to see some intelligent conversation without the “troll underground rumblings”.
My daughter changed my colors but when you all run across a blog with a dark background, and you want to read the post. You can change the colors yourself with the dashboard found in the upper right hand corner of goggle blogs.

How do I change the background color-it’s difficult to read.

Go to Dashboard. Click on Layout. Click on Font and color. Look for background color. Click on the color you want instead.
Thanks laree – that’s much better. I can’t find the Dashboard though.
Hey, seriously….did we REALLY put men on the Moon?
Sometimes, I have to wonder. Kinda makes me think of that song by the old group Devo , “We Are All Devo”.
“NASA Global Warming Satellite Crashes After Launch.”
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090224/ap_on_sc/sci_carbon_satellite
ADD the fact they still haven’t (after 5 tries I believe) launched the latest Space Shuttle mission.
You just can’t make this stuff up , people….
LOL
Alison said “I can’t find the Dashboard though.”
I know, I wish they would make the technical parts easier. I wonder if the the poster Jamie explaining how to change colors, meant if you have a google sign on, you will be able to use the dashboard option in the upper right hand corner? I know when we went to tweak the blog, my daughter needed to sign in as me to work the page layout elements, and she has a sign on with google. She has the dashboard option up in the right hand corner but it would have only changed the page colors for her – on her desktop. She just put up a post, I have her as a contributor on my blog (It’s a funny story about a guy caught by a DJ cheating at the airport- An Affair to Remember) His fiance’ was listening to the story on the radio and called in…..Be careful out there people, they are watching us 🙂

I am not complaining about Blogger, we looked over the many blog services before we picked google it was actually the easiest to use, my opinion of the many blogging options out in the blogosphere.
Ree…
I think, just maybe, that Jamie was speaking of her “own” website. I went to my profile and “dashboard” and could not locate anywhere to change the view of some other blogs visuals.
“Dammit Jim…I’m a doctor, not a computer scientist!”
See what you started Skiwolf…. GRRRRRRR……
DonaldInks,
That’s good to know, I thought we could tweak the pages if we had signed on.
“Dammit Jim…I’m a doctor, not a computer scientist!” LOL!
Mission accomplished.
1) Now I can read Laree’s blog.
2) Got Donald upset.
My day is complete.

IMAN is on a rant today regarding banks using TARP money for parties. Marueen Dowd set him off. Pretty funny read from Dowd today.

Imus was on a tear this morning. The I man rants are the best parts.
I wish they would put the entire show on podcast on 77WABC not just the interviews. The best parts are Imus and the crew. The interviews are snapshots of what happens during the morning. Imus to Lou, don’t play anymore Sheryl Crow ever she needs to Shut Up just Shut Up. Lou do you understand…..maybe I don’t know you said, Shut Up, Shut Up I guess I get the message 🙂 They are back in their old grove. I think we have the new program director to thank for green lighting the return of elements from the old show.
Paul Begala, was really good yesterday but it is Imus who brings that out, you get that they are old friends. Still Begala knows he has to be hazed. That is something the people at MSNBC never seemed to get about the Imus in the Morning schtick (hazing the guest) and the MSNBC people.
There was a follow up to the Cheater at Will Rogers Airport show yesterday. The DJ busted him, (The You Won A Contest Lure) DJs are so devious. My daughter took the long way home this morning just so she could hear the outcome. I asked her is she thought it was a set up? She said no, she didn’t think the morning show crew was that clever 🙂 She thinks it was God’s hand orchestrating the series of events…..if that was the case, that means God is programing radio TOO FUNNY.
Paul Begala really has a Rush fixation. This is Paul Begala post for The Daily Beast. Rush Limbaugh is a talk radio show host. Every time they complain about him they raise his stature.

If Al Sharpton rejects Murdoch’s apology does it make any difference?
http://hotair.com/archives/2009/02/25/sharpton-to-murdoch-on-chimp-cartoon-apology-not-accepted/
Ree,
I kind of come down on the side of the Iman on the subject of the cartoon. He pretty much said it all the other day. Whether the “Righteous Rev Al” accepts any apology, is pretty much a moot point. It shouldn’t have ever happened.
Imus said, a cartoon is supposed to be funny, right? It wasn’t funny…and the implication (or the intended meaning) was obvious to any clear thinking individual with any simple intelligence.
If it wasn’t “meant” to be what many thought it “was”…SOMEBODY at the news division at the Post was either asleep at the switch, or wasn’t doing good journalistic and ethical oversight.
I do applaud Rupurt Murdoch for not wanting any part of such “humor”.
So….just shut the hell up, Sharpton.
The Post was wrong. Many (including myself) were offended… however, the “Man” that owns the paper gave a very apt apology… and case closed. 🙂
DonaldInks,
I just remember when Imus’s apology wasn’t good enough. This is a kind of no win situation Sharpton won’t come away without some kind of Coup. Imus lost his job, now he wants Murdoch to have to give up something. Murdoch is a Billionaire with mass media concerns, I think Al Sharpton might have bitten off more then he can chew this time. That is how it works though, you know you press your luck to see how far it will go GRIN.
Yes the Post got carried away with “Chimps Gone Wild” no one should have okayed that cartoon to go to print.
Jane Goodall, Chimps aren’t Pets….why is this necessary to explain to people?
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-goodall25-2009feb25,0,3873665.story?track=rss
Hey Laree, been catching up on your “Fidelity Test” recaps on your blog. Pretty funny stuff. Are there more installments to come? Your blog looks good…… I can read it!!
Do yall think that Murdoch will pay for Al to go away? Let me know.
skiwolf,
I think Rachel is supposed to be on again today, to let the morning crew know what happened after she talked to Michael, after he got busted. I will keep a look out for the podcast. Will Roger International Airport, third rate romance, low rent rendezvous 🙂 The Fidelity Test are my daughter’s post. I really wanted her to use this song but she picked the right ones.
I thought Van Morrison was great today, there are some really good quotes out of that interview I hope they put the interview up on you tube or something.
Harleyquinn,
I hope not. I think he should ignore Sharpton honestly Rupert Murdoch apologized that is enough. I would bet that there will be a layer to vetting cartoons in the future. That is the remedy and if people were offended they can stop buying the Post. I don’t think they did anything that requires the FCC to investigate. The cartoon was in real poor taste, I can’t believe someone didn’t think about the sensitivity? I mean The New York Post is located in the most cosmopolitan city in the world my opinion. I don’t think they can claim ignorance about the history of the imagery. When did Rev Al, ever get protesters out protesting, over all those racist cartoons of Condi Rice?
Thought Beschloss was pretty funny in recognizing he was just “fill” to get to the Van Morrison interview. It was really great.
I’m having suspicions about that Airport thing. I wonder if the whole deal was a “spoof”. Michael and Pam are both characters from The Office. Might be…………..
skiwolf
That is what I was asking my daughter “do you think it was a setup” I mean what are the odds? That the woman being done wrong and not know it, would be spotted by a DJ., then the next day he relays a story about her on the radio while she is listening the next morning? My daughter said, it is one of the most popular radio stations in OKC a Clear Channel Station. They have been playing it straight.
Harleyquinn, there is talk of Rupert Murdoch buying the NYT so he is basically sending Sharpton the message “I am going to buy more media” he doesn’t seem to be taking Sharpton’s FCC threat serious. Chickaboomer was musing in earlier post, what if Murdoch buys and put Ailes in charge of the NYT….there was a funny comment, well the Grey Lady might have to hike up her skirt 🙂
http://chickaboomer.blogspot.com/2009/02/ailes-sun-tzu-reincarnated.html
Another thing funny about the show this morning was the description of Sid Rosenberg interviewing Dierdre. Priceless. Lou Rufino’s imitations of Sid were great. Apparently Sid will do anything to get back to NY.
skiwolf,
I like last week when Imus was trying find a reason for Sid okay how about march madness….they are just looking for excuses. I put an update for Van Morrison post, including link to the interview. Also a link to lost highway records online they have a couple of Van’s albums online, and you can listen to them.
http://youhavetobethistalltogoonthisride.blogspot.com/2009/02/van-morisson-imus-guest-thursday-26.html
I should have edited that better.
Imus was trying to find a reason to have Sid back on, he said how about march madness.
Outside the studio this morning, did they know there was a Stop Rush Limbaugh sign being held up outside Rainbow Studios?
The Stop Rush Limbaugh photo was taken on January 30, the same guy took todays photo, he appears to be blogging them.

Hello fellow friends.
Early this morning, I drove from Grand Rapids Michigan to Wyandotte Michigan, to say farewell to me 95 year old Grandmother, who she died peacefully in her sleep.
A shout out to Bruce, for the kind email for his well wishes and concerns.
She lived a long life, and was ready to go.
On my last visit to her, she said “Donnie, why won’t God just let me die.”
Today, she had that wish…and I was pleased to be at her side in her last moments, and to say my goodbyes.
I really hesitated at first, and didn’t really want to bring personal news to you all, and post a “downer” message…but many here, I consider “family”.
I just wanted you all to know that all is well…and she is finally at peace.
To all in my “extended Imus Family” out there…be well, and live life to its’ fullest.
Grandma did that very thing. 🙂
Please excuse my misspellings….I’m kind of in “another world upstairs” right now. 😉
DonaldInks
I am so sorry, that must have been so hard to say good bye.
I am glad you had the chance to be with her. God Bless Her and Keep Her.
Ree
Donald,
I am sorry to hear about this. And glad we touched base on this prior to this peaceful death. Never easy to take.
God Bless you and your Family. Life seems so unimportant when someone close to you leaves you.
Take care.
We are going down the 100 Top Rock Albums List, and we are finding a lot of room for improvement to the ranking and the submissions. Imus mentioned that Van Morrison’s Moondance was 58 on the Top 100 Rock List, and Van said, I don’t know why, I’m not a Rock singer, I am Jazz and Blues. That’s true.
http://youhavetobethistalltogoonthisride.blogspot.com/2009/02/heavy-metal-cheesecake.html
Thank you Ree, and Bruce.
Again, Bruce…thanks for “touching base” on the subject of my Grandma. It meant a lot to me. 🙂
Grandma lived a long and fulfilling life…as I would wish upon all those out there…
…and she died peacefully in her sleep. I am so glad I was able to be there in her last moments.
Judging by the state of what is going on in the current circumstances in the world, her life put a good many things in stark perceptive for me. She, and my Grandfather LIVED during the “great depression”…and the made it through, did what they had to do…and survived.
In the times we all are now experiencing in our lives around our Nation, and in the entire world…
…that gives me comfort…and optimism.
Again, thank you for the well wishes and condolences.
Again, please excuse my misspellings and butchering of the “English language”. LOL.
As I said, my mind is currently in a “different” place at the moment. 😉
Donaldinks: God rest your grandmother’s soul. There is nothing in this world better than to have had a Grandmother that you loved – and loved you in return. I still miss my Irish Nana & she passed away on May 20th 1963!
As you must have heard. Paul Harvey died last night at his Winter residence in Arizona. Mr. Harvey would have been 91.
For some odd reason this saddens me.
Heads up to RFD TV

Holy Jesus God people….
I knew things were going amok back in October of last year…but the financial news today is quite sobering.
I can NOT understand WHY the U.S doesn’t nationalize the banks and clean out the crap! The longer they piddle around with “stress tests” (ect.) the worse it will be. They KNOW what banks are under water right now, and they are pulling us all under water faster, as they squander precious time.
I am, perplexed, and quite disillusioned…to say the least.
This reminds me of sitting in the ICU watching my Grandmother die.
The difference? They can, and should DO something! In my Grandmothers case, it was written on the wall, and at 95 years old…it was her time.
This is QUITE different.

Who am I kidding…I haven’t needed a “hair dryer” in 15 years. I can “blow dry” what’s left of my hair just by opening the bathroom door.
DonaldInks,
So your going for that wind blown look 🙂
I have been watching the Style Channel and “Clean House” in particular, now I am knee deep in Spring Cleaning. I am hoping by this weekend it is warm enough to do some lawn work. It is taking my mind off the Dow Dropping and the endless analysis. I would like to see Imus get some of those Politicians on, and have them explain what they are doing to stop the bleeding.
I was encouraged this am as Imus comes to the conclusion (in only the way that he can) that Obama is over his head. Imus saying he was in trouble with the new budget (limitations on charitable deductions) along with a stimulus package that won’t work! You Go Imus….
Yes Channel, Imus was very vocal on Obama’s inexperience ad that he didn’t have a clue.
One day and a dollar short.
Donald,
Nationalizing Banks is just what Obama wants. This is the wrong way.
Let them fail one by one, or correct their ridiculous ways to save themselves.
If my memory serves me right a Bank must have reserves equal to 1/10 of their outstanding loans. At present they are not lending very freely.
Let the free market work and our Country will be better off.
This is my opinion.
“When’s Obama going to stop talking out of both sides of his mouth?” Imus 3/4/09
According to the I-Man, the budget bill is on Obama’s desk making it his bill! Obama owns the budget bill, earmarks and all, regardless of what those panty waist Bush bashing liberals say.
According to Maureen Dowd

Besides History & Genealogy, I enjoy the subject Anthropology. Many cultures have myths and traditions about the here and now and what comes after. Sally’s belief is pretty common.
I can’t stand her simply because of her association with that hypocritical, holier than thou, blood sucking weasel Jon Meacham. Other than that she’s fine. LOL!
And now you know the rest of the story………
RIP Paul Harvey.
Oh yeah personally I believe in “Fade to Black”. But that’s just me. 🙂

Er, no.
In fact you have it ass backwards…or back asswords….or Bass Ackwards.
But the above statement is completely wrong.
If you have been paying any attention at all, the Obama Administration is against nationalizing the banks.
The Republicans are mostly in favor of the idea…for 2 reasons:
Pouring money into these zombie banks will create what happened in Japan during THEIR last “great” recession that lasted, oh, a mere 10 years.
Letting them collapse? You must be joking…right? You realize they are all backed by the FDIC, right? Where does the FDIC get their money for backing and insuring these same banks?
IF they FAIL, how much MONEY do you (or can you) comprehend will be lost…and once again…it will come out of your, mine… EVERYONE’S’ very pockets. 😉
Bruce…
Here is today’s homework assignment.
Watch it, and be prepared for a pop quiz tomorrow…SERIOUSLY. ;_)
http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=6932460
“There were 25 bank failures in 2008 and 14 so far this year. Analysts from RBC Capital estimate 1,000 banks could fail over the next few years. That would wipe out one-sixth of the industry.
The problems are stressing the FDIC deposit insurance fund, which fell almost by half to $18.9 billion, with reserves now at their lowest since 1993. That would make the seizure of a large U.S. bank an issue, Bair said Thursday. ”

I don’t. 🙂
“FDIC’s Bair warns on bank deposit insurance fund
By MARCY GORDON – 1 hour ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — The head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has warned that the fund insuring Americans’ bank deposits could be wiped out this year without the money the agency is seeking in new fees from U.S. banks and thrifts.
FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair acknowledged, in a letter to bank CEOs, that the new increased fees and hefty emergency premium the agency voted to levy last week will bring a “significant expense” to banks, especially amid a recession and financial crisis when their earnings are under pressure.
“We also recognize that assessments reduce the funds that banks can lend in their communities to help revitalize the economy,” Bair wrote.
But given the accelerating bank failures that have been depleting the deposit insurance fund, she said, it “could become insolvent this year.”

Here is the answer to where almost 7.5 Trillion dollars “disappeared into thin air” and created this entire mess. Of course, UBS does not want to “wind up in court”…which well they should…

Factoring in the incompetence of Obama…
This is a simple problem to solve repeal SOX getting rid of mark to market which will immediately repair the banks capital reserves then provide forbearance for the banks to work out remaining issues. Or be a tax cheating butt-headed Treasury Secretary.
ChannelXRFR,
I caught some of Geithner today explaining how the caps for tax deductions like Charity are to fund the health care plan they plan on putting in place? The congress person was asking him how is this going to effect people who itemize sales tax etc. It was kind of like watching the birdie during a badminton game….I really had a difficult time following him, he was smiling the whole time. I don’t know that I would describe the smile as smug but I really didn’t see what there is to smile about? It was a clip they played on Fox News earlier, I wonder if the video clip is available.
Donald,
With all due respect I do not do pop quizzes. Plus I do not watch WABC TV News. They are almost as bad as MSNBC and CNN. (In the Tank for the Democrat Party).
We just can’t keep pumping money we do not have into any Bank. Enough is enough!
Nationalizing anything is wrong for the United States.
Time will tell if this printing of money helps. The market had what I call a speculators opportunity, not a bounce in the market. I predict another down turn by Friday.
Buy low sell high is no longer an option. Only in limited circumstances. Mostly you can only buy low and get out before it goes to zero.
What do you suppose Imus meant this am when he said “At least I can go to the ranch” and then something about the age limit.?
Mtnherbal,
I don’t really know. Have a feeling that it has to do with RFD-TV or a pay cut. We will see. It will leak.
Stocks resume slide on lack of positive news
By SARA LEPRO, AP Business Writers – 1 min ago
NEW YORK – Investors are having another change of heart and are selling stocks again after a one-day burst of optimism.
The major market indicators extended their slide to levels not seen in more than a decade Thursday as investors contended with more disheartening economic data, new concerns about the stability of General Motors Corp. and ongoing uncertainty about the financial system. The Dow Jones industrial average fell more than 200 points, and the big indexes were all down more than 2 percent.
Stocks fell across the board, with the beleaguered banking sector posting some of the steepest losses. Shares of Citigroup Inc., still shaky despite receiving billions in government aid, sank below $1. General Motors, meanwhile, dropped below $2 as it warned of possible bankruptcy.

mtnherbal, I didn’t catch Imus talking about going to the ranch and age limits this morning. It seems the Iman has been extra grumpy lately. Even lashing out at Charles for the way he was reading the news. Although Imus going off on Karith claiming she had an hour and a half of funny material was great this morning, thinking of Ski.
Donald, Eventually the “Jug Eared President” will figure out Wall Street is Main Street or the American people will figure it for him. That light at the end of the tunnel? Mid term elections are 19 months away.
Chanx:
The “Jug Eared President” was handed a full plate of shiite on day one. I’m pretty sure he knows who was responsible for creating this mess…unregulated pampered bastards ON Wall St.
Your “light at the end of the tunnel” will come when NASDAQ hits a low of, oh, around 400 points.
That’s how much these silly clowns “over inflated” the markets, and…as the former “pointy eared chimp” President quite eloquently stated:
“Wall street got drunk. And now “THEY” have a hangover”.
Problem is…”their hangover” is now being suffered by the entire Nation (and the REST of the World’s economies) and left us all with our collective worst fracking nightmare.
Wall Street, in its’ current unregulated condition, is no better than traveling to your nearest Indian Casino, to watch your money go away. Your odds (on Wall Street) at this point, are not even as good.

Blaming Bush 43 is so 2008! Recall Bush was handed a double barrel of “shiite”, a recession and 9/11. To quote I-fav Kurt Vonnegut, “So it goes”.
Obama 44 is the President now, it is his economy, whatever happens is happening on his watch.
What a witty and creative use of the word “Shiite”.
Agreed, compliments to the Donald…
A song for you Mr. X …as you ponder and reminisce on the passing of the Bush Oligarchy…
Keep your fingers crossed …could happen …
The Bush Chapter is over, time to turn the page.
“So it goes.”
Sing along Mike
It’s all beer and whiskey and songs from now on.
Laugh at the darkness and dance until dawn.
Goodnight Mr. X
Just a few short hours ’til …”Imus in the Morning”
But first …another shot and a beer, bartender …and one for my friend, too!
Good Morning All.
Doris Kearns Goodwin was hilarious this morning, her dry cleaner’s business in Concord MA is down 30%. It is this skewed market system which got us into this situation lack of regulation, according to Doris. Actually regulations got us into this situation.
Fast forward to;
Imus is pulling for the president, is not sure he knows what he is doing. It’s hard to argue with that.
Your link doesn’t work
Note: It should work now ~ ThanX
It does.
Good article.

Pleasant sent this to me, Practical Math pass it on 🙂 Don’t Ration Your Ale.
If you had purchased $1000 of shares in Delta Airlines
one year ago, you will have $49.00 today.
If you had purchased $1000 of shares in AIG
one year ago, you will have $33.00 today.
If you had purchased $1000 of shares in Lehman Brothers
one year ago, you will have $0.00 today.
But—- if you had purchased $1000 worth of beer
one year ago, drank all the beer,
then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund,
you will have received $214.00.
Based on the above, the best current investment plan
is to drink heavily & recycle.
It’s called the 401-Keg.
laree….
“the 401-Keg.”
I’ll drink to that.
Can’t beat a good return on a simple and “fun” investment. 😉
DonaldInks,
We have to buy beer & drink heavily it’s for the good of the Republic 🙂 We are now inhabiting an alternate universe, that apparently is adopting an Irish Currency Standard 😉 Beats the hell out of the Euro and the Amero LOL!
Next “round” is on me, Ree….
LOL
It’s now official, Obama breaks all time record for a newly elected President!!!
ALL TIME, ALL TIME
The Official Imus In The Morning Website is offering a subscription based access with commenting feature. This seems to be like Bill O’Reilly offers with his premium service.
http://www.imus.com/home/home_2009_1_14.guest.html
Ree, if the “premium subscription” goes to the ranch…I will be there. I hope Imus clarifies this early on.
This might be of “some comfort”. Well, maybe not…lol.

Donald Inks,
That is what I keep trying to tell people, yes it’s bad, yes it will get worse, yes the U.S. is going to suffer less then other countries but it is still going to be painful. Think about it though what do the majority of Americans know about being deprived? Maybe it is a good thing a (Growth Experience) When I was a kid, I got the “What Do You Think Money Grows On Trees” my Dad’s answer to the constant I want whine “People In Hell Want Ice Water Too” or What Does Want Feel Like 😉 He was a child of the depression, he really could roll them out maybe it’s time for the classics to return. Oh his favorite, Tuff titty said the kitty no milk today…I miss my Dad.
Donald,
I think Imus was remarking awhile back if the website ever started making money, the money was going to go to the Ranch. Given the Economy they need to open as many revenue streams as they can to support the Imus Ranch.
I know this is how Bill O’Reilly was funding some of his favorite charities “premium membership” right?
Ree…
I hear you…about “missing your dad”. My grandparents, and my Dad, Mom, Uncle and Aunt…they ALL lived through the “great depression”. They told me many a time of how they survived. What they had to do just to exist.
Most Americans see those “tales” as “old folks tales” that have no bearing to them, yet…they were trying to imprint certain ideals and just living upon us. Somehow, maybe, we have become all just too disconnected from what IS and what CAN happen. Most people would never think what we now have to deal with, as something that would ever happen.
Well, it did and it has, and most people now know why. What do we do about it? History repeats itself once again.
The “great cycle” of life continues. And, just as before…we will survive it. It won’t be easy, and we’ll suffer a good deal of “discomforts”. Like our generations before us though…we will survive. 😉
LOL….this from Jon Stewart: “CNBC Gives Financial Advice”.

Once again Ben Stein hits the nail on the head
Channel – Did you see Stein on Sunday morning yesterday? Provided optimism; called for less naysaying and gnashing of teeth by the media. Allowed “This too shall pass……”
From Imus.com:
100% of the of the profits from Inisde Imus go to the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer, a not for profit foundation in Ribera, New Mexico that changes the lives of children with cancer, blood disorders and the siblings of those who have lost brothers and sisters to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
mtnherbal…
“100% of the of the profits from Inisde Imus go to the Imus Cattle Ranch ”

Thanks for that update. In which case, I may sign up…just to support the Ranch…and download the podcast at Itunes to listen to at work the next day.

“It was like some kids saying the emperor has no clothes, and then after he says that, he says now that the emperor doesn’t have any underwear either,” Buffett said. “We want to err on the side next time of not allowing big institutions to get as unchecked on leverage as we have allowed them to do.”

“Roubini: US Recession Could Last Up to 36 Months”
“while he says there will be “a light at the end of the tunnel”, it’ll probably get worse before it gets better. Those who believe in a second half recovery this year “are delusional” he says.
In fact, based on Roubini’s calculations, we could conceivably see the S&P 500 at 500, the Dow at 5000. ”

Pretty much on the mark, given what has transpired….
“Sherman, into the time machine!”
Yes, you are not correct…LOL.
“Sherman, into the “way back” Machine!”
Donald,
Let me know how the Imus’ podcast is. If they are worth your hard earned money, guess I can drop you from my list of my presentations.
Remember: Requires Adobe Flash
Nice to know you have time at work to listen to Imus on Your I-Pod.
If you all want me to edit every segment of the 4 hours I will. But hearing the Sports over and over again is ridiculous. And the “Only On the Radio” hour is just 2 new segments, including sports, and the earlier comedy plus the most notable interview. Waste of time.
Tell me what you want and I will do it. I still beat the podcast by Imus’ site by about 6 hours. And do two of them.
mtherbal, I look forward to Stein every other Sunday in the NYT. I did not see Stein on Sunday Morning but found this link to the commentary, thanX for the tip…
Donald, Ben has his economist hat on, you may want to check out the commentary. There are couple of factoids like, 92% of us are employed and 92% of us are paying our mortgages along with some ideas here on how to end the recession, Let’s Roll!
This is too funny, MSNBC “Reinventing America” series. I won’t even turn MSNBC on why on earth would I participate in their ideas of Reinventing America?

“United Technologies slashes 11,600 jobs
By Justin Baer in New York
Published: March 10 2009 19:39 | Last updated: March 10 2009 19:39
United Technologies plans to eliminate 11,600 jobs in response to a steepening downturn that has swept through many of the conglomerate’s businesses, from Otis elevators to aerospace.
The company’s executives also lowered their profit and revenue targets for the year on Tuesday, joining a chorus of corporate leaders who have conceded the second-half turnaround they had predicted even as a crisis enveloped the financial markets now appears out of date and overly optimistic. ”

You go, Ben Stein. ” Let’s Roll!” indeed.
“NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. stocks posted their best day in four months on Tuesday after Citigroup said it was profitable in the first two months of 2009.
The market also got a boost, lifting shares off 12-year lows, after a key lawmaker said he expected the reinstatement of a rule that hinders short-selling.”
——————————————————————————–
That’s amazing! So…start LENDING! Duh! No liquidity, no movement in capital, no recovery.
The headline here should be: why isn’t Citi MOVING capital and getting their “well earned taxpayer funded” profits out where it is needed?
You go, Ben Stein. ” Let’s Roll!” indeed.

“Barry Ritholtz, CEO of Fusion IQ, says the current bailout bonanza is “absolutely asinine” and believes there’s no good reason the U.S. government should be rescuing the debt holders and counterparties of firms like AIG and Citigroup.
“Why do you and I as taxpayers have to make good some bet that Goldman or Deutsche Bank [or Pimco] made?,” he asks. “When you lend money to an insolvent institution, you’re not supposed to be made whole.”
“While painful at the onset – for debt and shareholders alike – such a process would ultimately result in “a reboot – a fresh start” for companies like Citigroup, AIG and Bank of America, says Ritholtz. “Just get them out from under all of the horrific decisions their inept and incompetent management has made over the past decade.”
From Nouriel Roubini to Paul Krugman, Alan Greenspan and a rising number of Republican Senators, momentum appears to be swinging toward that outcome.”

Thanks To Sarah Palin 2012 for sending this to me:)

Donald,
No bailout for Citi, no bailout for AIG, When did you become a financial conservative? If the Feds were listening to Ben Stein and others regarding “mark to market”, uptick, credit derivatives, forbearance etc. these bailouts would not have been necessary at all.
BTW: It’s not Ben’s fault corporate is shutting down the operation.

INCROYABLE!
Obama’s budget guided by French economists Piketty and Saez! Want proof? Check out Obama’s budget: Page 11, Figure 9, where you find the Leftist Curve!
These French guys started out targeting the top 1% wage earners. In the US Obama and his team have translated this to be the top 10% wage earners. A very slippery slope.
Here’s an example of the slippery slope. For the 2003 budget the NJ governor McGreevy targeted the very rich earning $1M and above. Then he realized there wasn’t enough revenue in that pot so the new millionares became $500K and above. For Governor Corizine his proposed budget has the new rich making $75K and above. A very slippery slope.
SACREBLEU!
Bella, is making some good points about Jim Cramer if he is going to be targeted for daring to criticize the present administration, then maybe people should explorer who is Jim Cramer.
“The distribution for 2006 trading profits is $93,000, with the entire sum going to the Imus Ranch, a working cattle ranch, which benefits children who suffer from cancer and serious blood disorders or who have lost a sibling to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). “Helping sick children is important to me,” said Jim Cramer, last week in a letter to Action Alerts Plus subscribers. “I’ve been Wall Street chairman of the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital for about a decade — and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to give more. I’m proud of the Action Alerts PLUS service and proud of what we’re able to accomplish through it.” Mr. Cramer gave away $141,520 in trading profits in 2005 from the Action Alerts Plus service. The total was distributed to the Imus Ranch, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which gives aid to members of the country’s armed forces, and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.”
http://bellalu0.wordpress.com/2009/03/12/who-is-jim-cramer/
Poor Cramer, this is what happens when you say the emperor has no clothes. This is a guy who is an extremely successful trader, a gun slinger if you will. Cramer is not infallible, he doesn’t get everything right. He gets enough right that he’s made a ton of money off the market. Way more the Jon Stewart has made or will ever make.
Stewart’s critiquing Cramer’s trading style? Give me a break….
New Post Dick Gregory’s Fast..
“The Obama Rosetta Stone
Wall Street Journal”
…written by Daniel Henninger.
…who, according to Wikipedia (if you believe they have any real credulousness in what what THEY write…) says:
“Like many of the Journal’s editorial page staff, he generally takes conservative stances on politics, but he supports increased immigration and amnesty for illegal immigrants.”
So IF that assertion is true, I can see where HE is coming from…
Horrors of horrors! The most wealthy that have lived in our Nation and prospered the most (in some cases, at the most obscene levels) have no moral responsibility to bring some type of economic “level playing field” to the Country as a whole.
Again…” but he supports increased immigration and amnesty for illegal immigrants.”
Yeah, I definitely do not want to subscribe to his whining economic “horrible inequalities” towards a more balanced and fairer system of “shared wealth” for the common good of the Nation as a whole.
The “top 10 %” of the most wealthy made their wealth off of the “bottom 90%” .
How horrible it must be for them. 😉

Chanx:
“BTW: It’s not Ben’s fault corporate is shutting down the operation.”
Yes, I know that. It was plain and simple “sarcasm” on my part…finding his comments somewhat hilarious on that particular day.
“The “top 10 %” of the most wealthy made their wealth off of the “bottom 90%”
Interesting Donald: Now how would one person or Corporation make a very good profit making the President and/or CEO of said Corporation wealthy?
Paying the employees the same income they are making? This is not how I understood the free market.
There will always be the Wealthy. There will always be the Middle Class. Professionals or hard working Blue Collar workers.
There will always be the poor. Why do you say are they poor? Because they are lazy and have lived off the Government so long, what’s the point of working hard.
These are my opinions and is a reflection of what President Obama is trying to do. Take from the Wealthy and give to the alleged poor. And by doing that the people in the middle are going to suffer.
A Welfare State is a poor Country.
“Now how would one person or Corporation make a very good profit making the President and/or CEO of said Corporation wealthy?”

What does that even mean?
Donald,9
As much as I like you as a person and technically a friend, I disagree with your analogy.
May not be able to write as well as you, but I think I can calculate that the statement regarding the Rich steals from the poor is a ridiculous statement.
Did you see how Obama’s stimulus payments are going to be distributed this year?
Not in a Government check. But for working people that receive a pay check. My Diana is going to get a whopping $9 dollars per week allegedly. She hasn’t seen a difference since January 20th, 2009. Maybe you can do some research on this instead of Lewis Black’s stupid comedy routine. He sounds so much like George Carlin it is scary.
My respect to you.
In honor of Jim Cramer, I am going to dedicate this next video to President Barack Obama. Barack Obama, doesn’t care about Rich People! GRIN
